About New China Buffet

New China Buffet is a Chinese restaurant located at 714 S Irby St, Florence, SC 29501, USA, operating within the Chinese Restaurant category. As a buffet-style establishment, it typically offers a variety of prepared Chinese dishes for customers to serve themselves. However, recent online reviews provide a critical perspective on several aspects of the dining experience at New China Buffet that local users may find important to consider.

Regarding the environment of New China Buffet, one reviewer described the place as "filthy," noting issues such as a dirty carpet and food on the floors. This raises concerns about the overall cleanliness and hygiene of the dining area. The same reviewer also mentioned witnessing the kitchen being washed down adjacent to the open buffet area while patrons were eating at 8 pm on a Saturday, resulting in "water all over." This observation suggests potential disruptions to the dining experience and further questions about the restaurant's cleanliness standards during operating hours.

The services at New China Buffet received mixed feedback. One reviewer stated that the "only slightly redeeming quality was the service," implying that the staff encountered were polite or helpful. However, this positive note was overshadowed by significant criticisms regarding other aspects of the restaurant. The second review did not explicitly comment on the service quality, focusing instead on the cleanliness and food selection.

The features of New China Buffet, as a Chinese buffet, would typically include a self-serve selection of various Chinese dishes. However, one reviewer expressed strong dissatisfaction with the limited variety, stating it had "the least options I’ve witnessed" compared to many other Chinese buffets they had visited. They estimated only "10 or so options" were available. This significantly contrasts with the expectation of a buffet offering a wide array of choices. Furthermore, this reviewer described the food quality as "mediocre at best," suggesting that the taste and preparation of the available dishes were not satisfactory.

Another key feature of a buffet is the pricing relative to the quantity and quality of food offered. In the case of New China Buffet, one reviewer found the price to be "outrageous" for the limited selection and the perceived quality, likening the food to "takeout food." This suggests a poor value proposition in the opinion of at least one customer, who felt that the cost did not justify the dining experience.

The second reviewer described the buffet selection as "average" in terms of variety, which contradicts the first reviewer's strong criticism of the limited options. However, this reviewer did note that the food "tasted good though," providing a slightly more positive assessment of the food's flavor. Despite this, the cleanliness issues they observed led them to conclude that it was "not the greatest place" and they would "not recommend for lack of cleanliness."

Regarding promotional information, the provided reviews do not mention any specific discounts, special offers, or ongoing promotions at New China Buffet. Typically, buffets might advertise lunch specials, senior discounts, or family deals, but no such information is available in the given customer feedback. Local users would need to contact the restaurant directly to inquire about any current promotions.

In conclusion, based on recent customer reviews, New China Buffet in Florence, SC, appears to have significant shortcomings in terms of cleanliness and food selection. One reviewer found the environment to be "filthy" with unsanitary conditions observed in both the dining area and near the buffet. The variety of food options was also heavily criticized by one customer as being extremely limited and of mediocre quality, with a price considered "outrageous" for what was offered. While another reviewer found the food taste to be acceptable and the service to be a slight positive, the overriding concern about cleanliness remains a significant drawback. Local users considering dining at New China Buffet should carefully weigh these recent experiences, particularly the strong negative feedback regarding cleanliness and the limited food selection, before making a decision. It is advisable to consider other Chinese restaurants in the Florence area before choosing to dine at New China Buffet.

Worst buffet i’ve ever had the displeasure of eating at. I’ve been to many many chinese buffets. This by far has the least options i’ve witnessed, and mediocre at best food. The price is outrageous for the 10 or so options you get to choose from, and it’s like takeout food. Only slightly redeeming quality was the service. Terrible, go anywhere else.

The place is filthy. The carpet is dirty, food on the floors. We let that go and tried the food. Buffet had average selection. Tasted good though. While patrons eating they were washing down the kitchen (it was 8 pm on a Saturday) which opens up next to the buffet, water all over. Not the greatest place. Would not recommend for lack of cleanliness.

Living in covid days. No salt or pepper or soy sauce on tables. You had to get ALL condiments in plastic 2oz cups from buffet bar. Kinda of a dated, converted western sizzling type building. But food was ok. Variety was ok

It was 12 noon I was driving and looking for a place to eat that had a lot of vehicles in the parking lot so I pulled in and gave it a try and I had a full plate with a little of everything on it, it was tasty and fresh, I will definitely stop again

Looks old on outside but it's nice inside. Service was super friendly. Food wasn't bad at all, just a lot of dishes were bland. Overall, a decent buffet. Great selection of dishes with a spacious layout.
