About New China Buffet

Located at 2830 S 108th St in Milwaukee, WI, New China Buffet is an Asian buffet restaurant offering a wide selection of dishes. While categorized as a Chinese Restaurant on some platforms, its buffet style suggests a variety of Asian and possibly American food options.

One reviewer described their experience as "Great & Overall a 4 & 4 corner star," noting a wide range of foods that were "very fresh & hot." They specifically mentioned items such as pizza, fries, fish, wings, Asian sweet & sour chicken, fried rice, pepper chicken with broccoli, crab Rangoon, eggrolls, ice cream, and various cakes and brownies. This reviewer strongly recommended the place for those who enjoy Asian buffets and indicated an intention to return for dinner after trying the lunch buffet.

However, another reviewer had a significantly negative first-time experience. They described the food as "barely warm," suggesting it sits in bulk on a steam table. They found the rangoon to be "old and chewy" and stated that all the sauces tasted the same. This reviewer was particularly critical of the "Fried" Rice, which they felt was more like rehydrated rice and had not been fried. They also expressed disappointment in the use of styrofoam plates and bowls, as well as plastic utensils, and concluded it was the "worst Chinese Buffet experience" they had ever had, stating they would not return.

The service experience also varied, with one reviewer highlighting the freshness of the food as compensating for the use of disposable tableware, while the other reported a negative initial interaction with the cashier who was unhelpful and dismissive to a first-time visitor.

Great Experience & Overall a 4 & 4 corner star, almost a full 5 star, we just chose a day where a big group comes once a month so not a big knock on what they did or could do better on, wide range of foods & very fresh & hot, strongly recommended this place if you like an Asian Buffet. I will go for dinner next time after trying the lunch buffet. Had pizza, fries, fish, wings, asian sweet & sour chicken, fried rice, pepper chicken w/ broccoli, crab Rangoon, eggrolls, ice cream, different cakes & brown’s. Beware & hopefully you don’t mind eating off styrofoam plates, and plastic silverware, The freshness makes up for that.

1st timer here. Walked in and the cashier takes my payment and hands me a styrofoam cup. Doesnt say anything. I told her Ive never been here before. She gets upset and points and says, "Its all help yourself." To which I told her, "I wasnt sure if you seat guest but I guess you just turn us loose. Thank you." The food was barely warm. Its made in bulk and sits in deep wells on that steam table. At least if they were in shallow dishes you'd know they make it fresh more often. The rangoon was old and chewy. All the sauces tasted the same. The worst thing they serve is the "Fried" Rice. That rice seemed like it never touched oil to fry. It was more like dehydrated rice they added water to and set it out. I guess I shouldnt have expected much once I saw stacks of Styrofoam plates, bowls as well as plastic utensils. This has to be the worst Chinese Buffet experience Ive ever had. I work nationwide and Ive been to places that, compared to this, this place shouldnt even be open. I came, I tried....NOT AGAIN.

If you want to sit down for a relaxing meal, this is not the place. The food tasted good and didn't make me sick but it didn't make me feel good either. Kind of felt like i had a brick in my stomach after my meal. The Styrofoam plates, cups and bowls are problematic and i had a hard time stabbing my veggies with a plastic fork. I was charged dinner prices at lunch. The place was clean enough but it also felt like you were eating in the back store room. Won't return.

Food selection is OK. Lots of fried foods. Would have like to see more fish and meat dishes that weren't all fried. Food quality has seem to go down over the years. Styrofoam plates and bowls are not appealing either. Like to eat on an actual dish.

Food is great, definitely get your moneys worth and then some. Go here a couple times a month with the wife and daughter we like it so much. Only down side is sometimes the server doesn’t want to come get your plates. So if you’re with a group they can stack up quick.
