About New China Buffet

New China Buffet is a Chinese Restaurant located at 1801 Gateway Dr, Waukesha, WI 53186, USA. They can be contacted at (262) 513-8833 or +1 262-513-8833. As a buffet-style Chinese restaurant, it offers an all-you-can-eat experience with a variety of dishes.

According to customer reviews, the food at New China Buffet is generally considered "decent" with a "variety" of options available. The buffet includes "basic staples" as well as "more fun options" and a "lots of desserts." Notably, one reviewer appreciated the "fresh fruit" selection and the availability of items like "pizza and chicken," which suggests they cater to a broader range of tastes, including children. Another reviewer mentioned that the "French fries were good" and the "sweet and about chicken pieces were fairly good," while the "grapes were delicious."

However, the environment and service aspects received mixed feedback. The "seating area is bland," and the restaurant uses "styrofoam bowls, plates, and cups with plastic silverware." One reviewer understood this might be a cost-saving measure to avoid hiring additional staff. Another customer expressed significant discomfort with the state of the "ladies' room," describing "LAYERS of whatever is around the base of the toilet and the duct tape over the space between the stall wall and the door wall." This suggests potential cleanliness and maintenance issues in this area.

Regarding features, the buffet offers a wide selection, but one reviewer noted that "signs could include a bit more detail about the food options," though they mentioned that "the staff is available to explain." One customer reported that the "Jello had no flavor and was overly firm," and there was "no allergy warning that there was peanut sauce being served on the third buffet." This lack of allergy information could be a concern for some diners.

Overall, customer experiences suggest that New China Buffet offers a wide variety of food at a potentially reasonable price, making it appealing for those seeking a buffet experience. However, potential drawbacks include the basic ambiance, the use of disposable tableware, and concerns about restroom cleanliness and the clarity of food labeling, particularly regarding allergens. There is no information available regarding any specific promotional offers.

The food was decent. The seating area is bland. Styrofoam bowls, plates, and cups with plastic silverware. Jello had no flavor and was overly firm. There was no allergy warning that there was peanut sauce being served on the third buffet. French fries were good! Sweet and about chicken pieces were fairly good. Grapes were delicious. The ladies' room made me feel extremely uncomfortable with the LAYERS of whatever is around the base of the toilet and the duct tape over the space between the stall wall and the door wall. Overall, it could be way better but could be worse. I don't think we will be back.

Did the buffet and love the variety - from basic staples to some more fun options and lots of desserts. I loved all the fresh fruit, and they even had pizza and chicken for my son. Signs could include a bit more detail about the food options on the buffet, but the staff is available to explain. Wish they were using real plates and silverware, but understand this may be cheaper than hiring additional staff. The place could use some updates to the seating area, but overall, we really enjoyed ourselves and our food.

I've gone here for years, and the options just keep getting fewer, the foam plates and tiny plastic forks are an effort to get people to eat less. It's a shame, this place used to be awesome.

I think they gave up a long time ago and it shows. The food sucked. Styrofoam plates and plastic forks even after paying $17 for a lunch buffet. It was busy enough and with that high a price, they should be able to hire a decent cook and dishwasher. Won't be surprised if this place closes within a year unless it turns around.

Everything is foam plates, bowls, drinking cups. Celebrated a very special event with another couple. Between the four of us we could not name a buffet item that was the bomb, crab ragoons 1 on food score, jello rubbery, small square cakes ,my favorite desert at the places scores a 1 most of these were hard no spongy. Beef broccoli was tough, chicken and veggies almost raw tasting, but the thing that really questioned whether this was a safe place to eat was the old plate cart. 1 pan has all uneaten food with plastic utensils. 1 plastic bin had foam plates stacked like they were gonna be reused somehow! The foam cup were the same way stacked one inside of another box till they filled to length, and bowls were saved in another. Kinda made me think why would you take the time to segregate foam dishes when you should be throwing them away ,why clean food off and dump liquids from cups? Something weird going on here. 30 minutes after eating there and wife and I were running for the bath rooms. 3 of us experience same gastrointestinal distress . Took one good look at place to remind us we are never going back!!
