As a Chinese restaurant operating under a buffet service model, New China Buffet aims to provide a wide variety of Chinese cuisine options for diners. Based on recent online customer reviews, the experiences at New China Buffet appear to be overwhelmingly negative, with significant concerns raised about the food quality and potential health risks. These reviews paint a concerning picture of the dining experience at this establishment.

One reviewer described New China Buffet as "the absolute worst place I have ever eaten Chinese food." They stated that after just two bites of the food, they decided it was either a matter of getting a refund or risking food poisoning. Specific issues mentioned included mushrooms that were described as tougher and chewier than well-done flank steak, and a pervasive "fishy flavor" in everything they tried. This reviewer strongly advised against eating at New China Buffet unless one was willing to risk becoming ill. They also mentioned that they were awaiting a refund and would provide an update if it did not process, indicating a severe level of dissatisfaction with their experience.

Another customer echoed this sentiment, stating that their experience was "the absolute worst." They reported that everything they tried was bad and made them feel sick. They eventually gave up on trying to find anything edible, left the restaurant, and considered it a "lesson learned." This reviewer also expressed a strong suspicion that both they and their husband had contracted food poisoning from the small amount of food they did consume. This review further reinforces the serious concerns about the quality and safety of the food served at New China Buffet.

Considering these two recent and highly negative reviews, the overall impression of New China Buffet is extremely unfavorable. Both customers reported the food to be of very poor quality, with descriptions including inedible textures and unpleasant flavors. More alarmingly, both reviewers explicitly mentioned feeling sick and suspecting food poisoning after eating at the buffet. These experiences suggest significant issues with the freshness, preparation, and handling of the food at New China Buffet, raising serious health and safety concerns for potential customers.

Regarding the environment of New China Buffet, the provided reviews do not offer any specific details about the restaurant's ambiance, cleanliness, or decor. Typically, buffet-style restaurants prioritize functionality and the capacity to serve a large number of customers. The focus is often on the layout of the food stations and the seating arrangements. However, given the severe criticisms of the food quality and safety, potential customers might also have concerns about the overall hygiene and maintenance of the establishment. Without further information, it is difficult to provide an objective description of the environment, but the negative food reviews certainly cast a shadow on what the dining experience might be like.

In terms of services, New China Buffet operates primarily as a buffet-style Chinese restaurant. This means that customers pay a fixed price and can serve themselves from a variety of dishes laid out at different food stations. The reviews do not mention takeout or delivery services, so it is likely that their primary offering is the dine-in buffet experience. The fact that one reviewer was able to request and potentially receive a refund suggests that they do have some mechanism for addressing customer complaints, although the initial experience with the food was clearly very negative.

Features of New China Buffet would typically include a wide selection of Chinese-American dishes, such as fried rice, noodles, various meat and vegetable stir-fries, soups, and possibly some desserts and appetizers. Buffet restaurants aim to offer variety to cater to different tastes. However, based on the provided reviews, the quality of this variety at New China Buffet appears to be severely lacking, with reports of poor taste, unpleasant textures, and potential health risks. Therefore, while the feature of a buffet is to offer choice and quantity, the critical feedback indicates a significant failure in the quality and safety of the food being offered.

Currently, there is no information about any specific promotions at New China Buffet in the provided reviews. Buffet restaurants sometimes offer discounts for seniors, children, or during certain times of the day. However, given the overwhelmingly negative feedback regarding the food quality and safety, any potential promotions would likely be overshadowed by these significant concerns. Local users would likely prioritize the safety and edibility of the food over any potential cost savings.

In conclusion, the recent customer reviews for New China Buffet at 3536 Cummings Hwy #104 in Chattanooga, TN, are extremely negative, citing inedible food with unpleasant flavors and textures, as well as strong suspicions of food poisoning. These reviews raise serious concerns about the quality and safety of the food served at this establishment. Local users are strongly advised to consider these recent experiences before deciding to dine at New China Buffet. While it operates as a Chinese buffet offering a variety of dishes, the critical feedback suggests a significant failure in providing edible and safe food. There is no information about the environment or any promotions, as the focus of the reviews is solely on the severely poor food quality and potential health risks. Contacting the restaurant at (423) 821-6988 or +1 423-821-6988 might provide further information, but the recent customer experiences should be a primary consideration for anyone thinking of eating here.

The absolute worst place I have ever eaten Chinese food. Service gets to stars for refund but 2 bites decided it was either money back or food poisoning. The mushrooms were chewie than flank steak cooked well done and everything had a fishy flavor to it. If refund does not process I'll update. I highly do not recommend this place unless you want to get sick.

This was the absolute worst. Everything we tried was bad and made us feel sick. We just gave up trying to find something edible and left and just called it a lesson. I am sure my husband and I both got food poisoning from what little we did eat.

I do not recommend anyone to eat at this place , 1st the food was cold , 2nd the food had been there for a while stale and hard. 3rd the fish 🐟 that they cooked was as stinky as a dead fish that had been on the side of a lake. 4th our drinks taste like water I asked for lemonade an the waiter was mad she brought the lemonade an slammed it down making a mess and did not clean it up, I ASKED HER POLITELY COULD SHE GET A RAG AND WIPE IT UP SINCE THEY DONT HAVE NAPKINS ON THE TABLES SHE WALKED AWAY Our waiter never came back ,another lady came and brought our fortune cookies and said thank you have nice day. THE BUFFET SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN !!!!!! WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!

Super low key Chinese buffet! ❤️ They have some boutique items for sale in there too like clothes, sunglasses, and octopus for your car at the front of the restaurant. Everything is sooo yummy! Has eccentric items like grape jello. You pay before you eat at the hostess stand. Very attentive drink runners (try to bring cash for a tip just incase they never come refill your drink cause it will make you mad when you want a drink to go and they never come back after tipping 45% beforehand). The sushi is super good! Veggie sushi option. Definitely recommend for a quick lunch or dinner. ❤️

The food…is just not edible. Full of salt and crazy aftertaste and before taste. I would not eat here ever again. The employees were nice . In ordered the take out buffet by the way which meant my food was weighed. The food is just nasty. I do not think it’s even real food
