Situated in Mentor-On-The-Lake, New China Buffet aims to provide a wide selection of Chinese cuisine at an affordable price.

Based on recent customer feedback, New China Buffet appears to offer a dining experience characterized by a large variety of food and affordability. One enthusiastic reviewer described the food as "amazing" and highlighted the "amazing number of dishes available," stating they "ate to bursting." They also noted that the restaurant is "very affordable" and the staff is "super friendly." This positive review suggests that New China Buffet could be an excellent option for local users looking for a budget-friendly, all-you-can-eat Chinese meal with a wide selection of choices and welcoming service.

However, another recent review, while acknowledging that the "food is really good," raises a significant concern regarding food safety. This customer recounted an incident where they found "a wire from a scotch brush" in their fried rice while eating. They advised caution to other diners due to this experience. Despite this alarming discovery, the reviewer still mentioned that the "food is still delicious as always though," indicating a generally positive perception of the taste and quality of the food, aside from this isolated incident. This review presents a complex picture, where the food is appreciated for its taste and quality, but there is a potential risk of foreign objects being present in the dishes, which is a serious matter for any food establishment.

Considering these two recent reviews, New China Buffet seems to offer a broad selection of Chinese dishes that are generally well-received in terms of taste and value. The buffet format allows diners to sample a variety of items and eat as much as they like for a set price, which is often appealing to those with a large appetite or those who enjoy variety. The positive mention of friendly staff contributes to a welcoming atmosphere, enhancing the overall dining experience. The affordability factor makes it an attractive option for budget-conscious diners in the Mentor-On-The-Lake area.

However, the incident involving the discovery of a wire in the food is a serious concern that potential customers should be aware of. While the reviewer noted that the food was still delicious, the presence of foreign objects in food indicates a potential lapse in food handling or kitchen processes. Local users might want to consider this feedback alongside the positive comments about food taste and variety when deciding whether to dine at New China Buffet. It would be prudent for the restaurant management to address this issue to ensure the safety and well-being of their customers.

As a buffet-style restaurant, the environment at New China Buffet is likely to be spacious to accommodate the various food stations and seating for a large number of diners. Buffets typically feature different sections for appetizers, soups, main courses (often including a variety of meat, poultry, seafood, and vegetable dishes), rice and noodles, and desserts. The "amazing number of dishes available" mentioned in one review suggests a substantial spread, offering a wide range of culinary options to cater to different preferences. The atmosphere in a buffet restaurant is usually casual and bustling, focused on self-service and variety.

The primary service offered by New China Buffet is the all-you-can-eat buffet. Staff are likely present to replenish the food stations, assist with seating, and handle payments. The friendly service mentioned in one review indicates a positive aspect of their customer interaction. However, there is no information provided about other services such as takeout or delivery. Given the buffet format, takeout might be limited or offered with specific pricing structures. Local users interested in these options would need to contact the restaurant directly.

A key feature of New China Buffet is undoubtedly the extensive selection of dishes available at an affordable price, allowing customers to sample a wide range of Chinese cuisine. The positive feedback on the taste of the food suggests that despite the buffet format, the quality is generally good. However, the reported incident with the foreign object in the food is a significant counterpoint that needs to be considered.

There is no promotional information provided in the given reviews. Local users looking for discounts, special offers, or any ongoing promotions at New China Buffet would need to check with the restaurant directly, perhaps by calling them or looking for any online presence they might have, such as a website or social media profiles.

In conclusion, New China Buffet in Mentor-On-The-Lake, Ohio, offers a wide variety of Chinese dishes at an affordable price, with generally well-received food and friendly staff. The all-you-can-eat buffet format is a key feature, appealing to those who enjoy sampling different dishes and eating generously. However, a concerning incident involving a foreign object found in the food has been reported, which raises food safety considerations. Local users should weigh the positive aspects of variety, affordability, and friendly service against this potential risk when deciding whether to dine at New China Buffet. It would be advisable for the restaurant to ensure stringent food safety protocols to maintain the trust and well-being of their customers.

Food is really good, however when I scooped my fried rice, there must have been a wire from a scotch brush in the food. I found it as I ate. Be cautious when eating. The food is still delicious as always though.

Went there on Christmas day. There was 15 people in our party. They had ham and vegetable egg fu young mixed, the pepper steak, roast beef was not bad. The foods that are hot are usually marked or as others due they don't use a lot of spices. I thought it wasn't bad because I don't eat foods that are usually spicy. Other then that I would go back again

This place was disgusting, it really needs a good cleaning, the glass panels above the buffet were so dirty you couldn't hardly see through them. Food was ok, some was cold and dried out from being there a while.

I had my heart set on Chinese today. Good thing too, this place was awesome! I came to the lighthouse and beach with my Dad. Then we came here to eat. This buffet is above average! Buffets are a hit or miss, and this is definitely a hit. Reasonably priced, hot food and lots to choose from! I just loved the Baked crab, Coconut shrimp and sesame chicken. Lots of dessert too, including cookies and ice cream. Chocolate chip cookies were just okay. You should come here for the food and not the dessert. Not saying the dessert is bad or anything. The Chinese food is something else! So good, I just wanted to keep eating. Oh! And they have sushi. I liked the sushi too. I only wish I lived closer to eat here again.
