I told my wife all Chinese buffets are the same. I was wrong. The fried rice here has a lot more flavor than other restaurants. The pepper chicken is superior. And while baked catfish is not a typical dish I'm still going to rave about the baked catfish. Very nice place to eat.

The food was cold. I asked if they would make it fresh but the manager just took my plate and microwaved it. I don't recommend this place at all.

This food is great on a Sunday after church. But during the weekday at dinner time the food was horrible! Over cooked and cold!! I watched an employee pouring hot water out of a coffee pot into some of the food stirring it up.....YUCK! I guess that the steam tables don't work. And it was $$30 for two people to eat.

I recently visited the New China Buffet in Brewton, Alabama, and I must say, the experience was far from satisfactory. The most concerning issue was the lack of hygiene. On one occasion, I witnessed a worker scraping food off the bar and back into the serving dish that the public was eating from. This is not only unappetizing but also raises serious health concerns. Additionally, our waiter was seen using the restroom and returning to work without washing his hands. This is a basic hygiene practice that should be followed by all restaurant staff, and it was disheartening to see it neglected. As for the food, it was subpar at best. The quality was reminiscent of frozen food from a supermarket, lacking the freshness and flavor one would expect from a buffet. It felt as if we had visited the frozen food section of Walmart rather than a restaurant. The dessert bar was another disappointment. It consisted of off-brand Little Debbie cakes that were cut up and served. This felt like a shortcut and lacked the creativity and effort one would expect from a restaurant dessert offering. Our drinks were refilled only once, and we had to hunt the waiter down for that. Plates were cleared only once as well. In conclusion, my experience at the New China Buffet was disappointing. The lack of hygiene, poor food quality, and uninspiring dessert selection significantly detracted from the dining experience. I hope the management takes these concerns seriously and implements necessary changes to improve their service.

My spouse and I went to New China Buffet for a late anniversary lunch. I can only say the restaurant is mediocre. It wasn't horrible but it wasn't great either. Starting with a lack of greeting the only words said to us by the hostess were "only two?" while holding up two fingers. Our drink order was taken I got hot tea and my husband got sweet tea. Although obviously a buffet it would have been nice if we would have been told to help ourselves or to let them know if we needed anything. But after setting down our drinks she then left without a word. For the most part the food tasted good. My biggest complaint was the food was only lukewarm. Even the egg drop soup was closer to cool rather than warm. Although very reasonably priced my husband and I decided we won't be going back for two main reasons first the lack of friendliness or greeting (its uncomfortable when you don't feel welcome) and second the lukewarm food.
