Based on customer feedback, New Century presents itself as a potentially pleasant surprise for those seeking Chinese food in the Vermont hills.

One reviewer described New Century as a "little diamond in the rough," highlighting a positive initial impression. This customer, who was on vacation and looking for Chinese food, found the restaurant to offer a "cozy atmosphere" coupled with "good service." The food was noted to be "fresh and quite tasty," suggesting a focus on the quality of ingredients and flavor. Additionally, the reviewer pointed out the convenience of ample parking available at the location. In contrast, another customer had a more mixed experience. While they found the overall experience to be "ok," they provided specific feedback on some of the dishes. They mentioned that the egg rolls were not prepared in a way they were accustomed to. Egg rolls can vary significantly in their preparation and ingredients across different Chinese restaurants, so this comment reflects a difference in style rather than necessarily a flaw in quality. The sweet and sour chicken was deemed "good" in terms of flavor, but the reviewer noted that the chicken was "not tender" and somewhat "tough," which could impact the overall enjoyment of the dish. Lastly, this customer expressed a dislike for yellow rice, which is a matter of personal preference and not indicative of the restaurant's general food quality.

Considering these reviews, New Century appears to be a local Chinese restaurant that offers a cozy and welcoming environment with generally well-received service. The freshness and taste of the food were highlighted as positive aspects by one reviewer. However, it's important to note that individual experiences and preferences regarding specific dishes can vary, as seen in the feedback about the egg rolls and sweet and sour chicken. The availability of ample parking and the restaurant's location near other local attractions add to its convenience for diners.

New Century is a little “diamond in the rough.” We were on vacation and desperate enough for Chinese food to try out a place in the hills of Vermont. What we found is a cozy atmosphere with good service. The food was fresh and quite tasty. Parking is ample and it’s around the corner from charming shops and restaurants. You never know when you’ll find a pleasant surprise but this was one of them.

I was visiting from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I eat and cook a lot of Asian style food and often eat at Chinese Restaraunts back home. Let me just say, the food here was so good, that I can’t go back home and eat at my local Chinese spots because they can’t compare! I got my faves-general tso, spring rolls, and wonton soup. I appreciate the added veggies in the soup, the crispiness of the chicken, and the spring rolls were fried to perfection and not greasy! All were the best I’ve ever had! If I ever visit again, I will be sure to stop back here.
