About New Cafe China

Welcome to New Cafe China, a Chinese restaurant located at 3935 St Charles Pkwy in St Charles, Maryland (MD 20602), USA. As a part of the Chinese Restaurant category, New Cafe China aims to serve the local community with a variety of Chinese dishes, primarily focusing on takeout and potentially delivery services based on the available customer reviews. You can contact them at (301) 705-8888 or via mobile at +1 301-705-8888.

Based on recent customer feedback, New Cafe China appears to be a restaurant that has garnered positive attention for several of its menu items and its service. One recurring positive highlight is the wonton soup, which was described as "amazing" with a "flavorful" broth that stands out in comparison to other takeout wonton soups that one reviewer found to taste like "dirty dish water." The wontons themselves are also praised for being "big and tasty," suggesting a focus on quality ingredients and preparation for this particular dish.

The sweet and sour chicken is another dish that received positive comments. A customer appreciated that the dish contained a substantial amount of "actual chicken and not just batter," indicating a better meat-to-coating ratio than often found elsewhere. The sweet and sour sauce was also well-received, noted for having a "really good" flavor with a noticeable taste of chili sauce rather than being overly sweet like just sugar syrup. This suggests a more complex and appealing flavor profile for their sweet and sour chicken.

The egg roll at New Cafe China was also singled out for praise, with one reviewer claiming it was "probably the best egg roll I have had around here." It was described as "perfectly cooked, not soggy," with a "very good" filling, indicating attention to proper cooking techniques and flavorful ingredients in this popular appetizer.

The crab Rangoon also received a positive mention for actually containing crab, which was appreciated by a customer who noted it wasn't overly "crabby," suggesting a balanced flavor that wasn't too intense. This indicates a potentially satisfying version of this classic appetizer.

In terms of service, one customer who ordered online had a seamless experience, with the food being ready "right on time" as indicated on the website. They also commended the "very nice" lady at the front, suggesting friendly and efficient service for takeout orders. This positive feedback on online ordering and front-of-house service adds to the positive aspects of New Cafe China.

However, not all feedback was entirely positive. One recurring issue raised by a customer is the blandness of the rice, specifically mentioning fried rice. This customer expressed significant dissatisfaction, stating that the rice "tastes like absolutely nothing" and that this is a consistent problem that "pisses me off everytime." Despite requesting more flavor when placing orders, the issue persists, leading to the frustration that the rice seems to be made bland on purpose. This is a notable area for potential improvement, as fried rice is a staple accompaniment to many Chinese dishes.

Based on these reviews, New Cafe China appears to excel in certain key areas, particularly their wonton soup, sweet and sour chicken, egg rolls, and crab Rangoon, along with efficient online ordering and friendly service. However, the consistently bland rice is a significant drawback for at least one customer, and it's a point that potential customers who highly value flavorful rice might want to consider.

The reviews primarily focus on the quality of the food for takeout, with a brief mention of the lady at the front, suggesting that takeout is a significant part of their service. There is no specific information provided about the dine-in environment, such as the ambiance, décor, or seating capacity. Therefore, it is difficult to describe the restaurant's environment based solely on this feedback.

Similarly, the services mentioned are primarily takeout and online ordering. While the positive interaction with the front staff suggests good customer service for those picking up orders, there is no mention of delivery services or the experience of dining in. It is possible that New Cafe China focuses primarily on takeout, but further information would be needed to confirm this.

In terms of features, the standout feature seems to be the quality of specific dishes like the wonton soup, sweet and sour chicken (with real chicken), and the well-prepared egg rolls. The consistent issue with the bland rice could also be considered a notable (albeit negative) feature. The availability of online ordering is a convenient feature for tech-savvy customers.

No specific promotional information, such as discounts, specials, or loyalty programs, is mentioned in the provided reviews. To learn about any such offers at New Cafe China, it would be best to check their online ordering platform (if they have one beyond just order placement) or to contact them directly via phone.

In conclusion, New Cafe China in St Charles, MD, appears to be a local Chinese restaurant that has garnered praise for several of its dishes, including the wonton soup, sweet and sour chicken, egg rolls, and crab Rangoon, as well as its efficient online ordering system and friendly service for takeout. However, a significant drawback reported by at least one customer is the consistently bland rice. For local users considering New Cafe China, it might be wise to try some of their highly recommended items, but those who place a high value on flavorful rice might want to inquire about this specifically when ordering. Overall, New Cafe China seems to be a reliable option for takeout Chinese food in the St Charles area, with some dishes standing out for their quality and taste.

I feel like I have to give this place some love. This was the second time coming here and had no issues. This last visit I got take out for lunch. I got the sweet and sour chicken lunch special with the wonton soup. First, the wonton soup... amazing. The broth is flavorful, I have had other take out wonton soups and they tasted like dirty dish water. This one is like it was made with love. The wontons are also big and tasty. For the sweet and sour chicken, it actually has chicken and not just batter. The sweet and sour sauce is really good too. Tastes of chili sauce and less just sugar syrup, which I liked. I also purchased an egg roll. Probably the best egg roll I have had around here. It was perfectly cooked, not soggy. The filling was also very good. The crab Rangoon actually has crab in it (don't ask me if it was real or not, idk). It's not super crabby so I liked that. I ordered online and the food was ready right on time like it said on the site. The lady at the front was very nice as well.

The rice is just so bland it pisses me off everytime. I don’t understand how they mess up fried rice, this is supposed to be the best thing on the menu. I don’t get it, it tastes like absolutely nothing!! I even tell them to please add more flavor to the rice while placing the order but it seems like they make it bland on purpose. It’s crazy

First-timer. Purchased a small House Special Mai Fun for dinner and it was ABSOLUTELY delicious. The noodles were perfectly cooked and the entire dish was well seasoned. Vegetables were crisp and meats were juicy. NOTHING was dry! I think this is the best mai fun I’ve had so far. The meal was ready in 10-15min and for $7.50, I think it was a great deal! Definitely give it a try if you haven’t. Update: tried it a 2nd time to test consistency, and bought a larger portion for ~ $12.50. A+ Update 15 AUG - went back and brought a friend for their approval. A++

Very humble Chinese place. I had the shrimp fried rice and it was really good. They gave lots of shrimp, cheap price and it was not greasy. Can tell they use a wok hearing the sounds from the kitchen. I can confidently say that they make the best fried rice in SOMD. Lady at the front is very nice as well.

The lady is really nice but I tried to give them another chance. I order the lunch special of shrimp and mixed vegetables. My food was ok but a little bland. When my husband took good to the last of the vegetables there was a wire in the broccoli. The lady is nice at the register but niceness is not worth your life. 👎
