Welcome to New Asian Panda, a Chinese restaurant located at 10430 Ridgefield Pkwy, Richmond, VA 23233, USA. Situated on Ridgefield Parkway in Richmond, New Asian Panda aims to provide a diverse menu of Chinese cuisine, with a notable emphasis on vegetarian options featuring mock meats. Customer reviews for New Asian Panda highlight several aspects of their dining experience, both positive and negative. One reviewer, who appears to be a repeat customer, specifically praised the restaurant's "Vegetarian section with the mock meats," describing it as "fantastic!" They mentioned trying the Mock Orange Chicken on their recent visit and found it to be "really good," while noting that the Mock Lemon Chicken had been the "best" in the past. This indicates that New Asian Panda offers a significant and well-regarded selection of vegetarian dishes that utilize mock meats to replicate popular chicken dishes. This reviewer also commended the Crab Rangoons and Fried Veggie Dumplings as "really flavorful" and gave them a "Highly recommend" rating, suggesting that their appetizer options are also noteworthy.

This same reviewer also provided feedback on the General Tso's Shrimp, stating that it was "good flavor-wise" but "just a little too soggy" and lacked a "crispy exterior." This suggests that while the taste of some dishes might be appealing, the texture might not always meet expectations. Despite this minor issue, the reviewer expressed their intention to return, indicating an overall positive impression and a desire to try other items, specifically mentioning the "Mock Beef!"

In contrast, another reviewer shared a significantly negative experience. They mentioned having ordered from New Asian Panda "quite a few times" with different dishes. However, on their most recent order, which included Szechuan Beef (a dish they had ordered before) and Crispy Chicken Chow Mein, they encountered a serious issue. While enjoying the beef, they found "a medium length hair in it," which understandably caused them to feel "Almost got sick." This incident led to a strong negative reaction, expressed with a shocked and upset emoji. This review raises significant concerns about food safety and hygiene practices at the restaurant.

Considering these reviews, New Asian Panda appears to have a strong selling point in its extensive and well-received vegetarian section, particularly the mock meat dishes. The appetizers, such as Crab Rangoons and Fried Veggie Dumplings, also seem to be flavorful and popular. However, there might be inconsistencies in the preparation of certain dishes, as noted with the soggy General Tso's Shrimp. More seriously, the report of finding hair in the food raises significant concerns about hygiene standards that potential customers should be aware of.

Based on the reviews, it is reasonable to assume that New Asian Panda offers takeout services, as both reviewers seem to have ordered food to be consumed elsewhere. Given that it is a restaurant with a physical address, it is also highly likely that they provide dine-in options for customers who prefer to eat their meals at the establishment. To determine if they offer delivery services to the Richmond area, it would be best to contact the restaurant directly.

The features of New Asian Panda include a notable and praised vegetarian menu with mock meat options, suggesting a commitment to catering to vegetarian customers with creative and flavorful dishes. Their appetizers, particularly the Crab Rangoons and Fried Veggie Dumplings, are also highlighted as flavorful. However, potential drawbacks might include inconsistencies in the texture of some dishes, such as the General Tso's Shrimp, and, more concerningly, potential hygiene issues as indicated by the report of hair found in the food.

Currently, there is no information available regarding any specific promotional offers or discounts at New Asian Panda. Local users interested in finding out about any specials are advised to contact the restaurant directly or check for any online presence they might have. Given the mixed feedback regarding food quality and hygiene, any promotions would ideally be accompanied by reassurances of consistent quality and strict adherence to food safety standards.

In conclusion, New Asian Panda in Richmond, VA, offers a unique and well-regarded vegetarian section with mock meat dishes that many customers find fantastic. Their appetizers also receive positive feedback. However, there are potential concerns regarding the consistency in the preparation of some non-vegetarian dishes and a serious report of a hygiene issue. Local users, particularly vegetarians or those interested in mock meat options, might find New Asian Panda worth trying for its unique offerings. However, the reported hygiene incident should be taken into consideration, and potential customers might want to assess their comfort level or inquire about the restaurant's food safety practices before ordering.

I've been to New Asian Panda a couple times. Their Vegetarian section with the mock meats is fantastic! This time I got the Mock Orange Chicken- really good! But the Mock Lemon Chicken has been the best. The Crab Rangoons and Fried Veggie Dumplings were really flavorful. Highly recommend. The General Tsos Shrimp was good flavor-wise but just a little too soggy. Didn't have that crispy exterior. Will be back! I wanna try the Mock Beef!

This is a pleasant surprise… My wife and I are new to the area (6 Months) and over the past few months we have been in town have been trying places to compare to our classic back home ā€œAmerican style Chineseā€ favorites. This was a great meal. We called, placed to go, and drove 9 minutes to pick up our ā€œready in 15ā€ order. When I walked in the man working the counter was bringing that all to familiar brown paper bag from the back. Just our luck it was my order, we had a great quick conversation and I headed on my way. Now, for the food, that’s what matters because after all this is not a sit down style place, so ignore those negative atmosphere reviews… The order was $52 for crab Rangoon, steamed pork dumplings (real dumps, not someone trying to pass Goyza off as a dumpling!) and 2 warm fresh egg rolls. The mains were General tso’ chicken and a happy family. One order white and one order fried rice. All were a great balance of flavor, meat, vegetables and sauce. We are extremely pleased with the overall experience and I recommend anyone looking for a quick filling meal show this spot some support. If you want a full sit down with a perfect designed interior and a wait staff, go to Shortpump and pay for it. Enjoy!

My boyfriend & i tried this Chinese place for the first time. We both got the fried chicken wings & rice with two egg rolls. We both give it a 5/10. The chicken tasted like it was refried but it wasn’t the worst chicken i tasted & i can definitely tell it’s NOT freshly fried. The fried rice is something that we are not used to at all. The eggs rolls were really good the best part of the meal but we wished it was more fuller like we are used too.

First Asian place we have tried in the area. Not really a large restaurant, there was only three tables, no one dining in, but we always do take-out. The Sesame Chicken was really good, same with the Sweet and Sour Chicken. Crab Rangoon needed to be cooked longer, they were a little rubbery, and were small. Mongolian Beef was okay, there was no sauce on it, more watery than a thick sauce, and it was not spicy at all. But we will give New Asian Panda another try sometime. Food was hot and ready when we arrived, good service.
