About New Asian Buffet

New Asian Buffet, located at 1221 N Grand Ave in Gainesville, Texas, offers a diverse dining experience within the Chinese Restaurant category. As an Asian buffet, it aims to provide a wide array of options, extending beyond traditional Chinese cuisine to include sushi, hibachi, and a substantial dessert selection. This format typically allows customers to sample various dishes in an all-you-can-eat setting, catering to a broad range of tastes and preferences within the local Gainesville community.

The menu at New Asian Buffet, based on customer feedback, encompasses a "vast selection" of typical Chinese dishes. This suggests that diners can expect to find familiar favorites such as various chicken, beef, and seafood entrees, along with fried rice, noodles, and vegetable dishes that are commonly associated with Chinese buffets. Additionally, the buffet features a sushi bar, providing a selection of Japanese-style raw and cooked seafood and rice preparations. A hibachi grill is also mentioned, indicating that customers may have the option of having food cooked to order in front of them, typically involving meats, vegetables, and sauces cooked on a large iron griddle.

Customer reviews offer contrasting perspectives on the dining experience at New Asian Buffet. One reviewer had a positive experience, noting that "everything we had was fresh and really good tasting." They also highlighted the efficient refilling of the buffet during their visit, the extensive selection across Chinese dishes, sushi, hibachi, and the "large dessert bar," and commended the "very friendly" service. This positive feedback suggests that for some customers, New Asian Buffet delivers on freshness, variety, and service quality.

However, another reviewer reported a significantly less satisfactory experience. They described the chicken as "VERY tough and chewy," indicating potential issues with the freshness or cooking of this particular item. While a fresh batch of honey chicken was later brought out, this was only deemed "okay" and still had a "weird" texture. Other Chinese staples like chow mein and fried rice were described as "bland" and "cold," while the broccoli was surprisingly "edible." The hibachi grill was labeled as "mediocre," and the reviewer expressed concerns about the freshness of the chicken offered there, opting instead for vegetables. On a more positive note, some of the dessert items, specifically chocolate pudding and butter cookies, were considered good, with the reviewer speculating that these might not be made on-site, which could explain their better quality.

Based on the available reviews, the environment of New Asian Buffet is likely that of a typical large buffet restaurant. This usually involves numerous food stations organized by category (e.g., Chinese entrees, sushi, hibachi, desserts), with a central seating area featuring tables and chairs to accommodate a large number of diners. The focus is generally on accessibility and self-service. The positive review mentioning quick refilling of the buffet suggests an effort to maintain a well-stocked and appealing presentation of the food. However, the negative review does not provide specific details about the ambiance or cleanliness of the restaurant itself.

In terms of services, the primary service offered by New Asian Buffet is the all-you-can-eat buffet experience, encompassing a wide range of Asian cuisines. The friendly service mentioned in one review indicates that staff are attentive and helpful. The presence of a hibachi grill suggests a form of interactive dining where food is cooked in front of the customer. While not explicitly stated, it is common for buffets to offer beverage service at the table. Takeout options are not mentioned in the reviews, so it is unclear if this is a service provided by New Asian Buffet. Customers seeking information on takeout or other specific services should contact the restaurant directly.

The key feature of New Asian Buffet appears to be its extensive variety of food options, spanning traditional Chinese dishes, sushi, a hibachi grill, and a large dessert bar. This caters to diners who enjoy sampling different types of Asian cuisine in one visit. However, the inconsistency in food quality, as highlighted by the contrasting reviews, could be a point of concern. The freshness of certain items, particularly chicken, and the temperature and flavor of staple dishes like chow mein and fried rice seem to vary. The dessert bar, with some items potentially sourced externally, is another notable feature.

No specific promotional information for New Asian Buffet in Gainesville, TX, is included in the provided reviews. Buffets sometimes offer discounts for seniors, children, or during certain days or times. They might also have special offers for holidays or group bookings. Local users interested in any promotions should check the restaurant's website (if available), social media pages (if they maintain them), or contact them directly via phone at (940) 665-8919 or +1 940-665-8919.

In conclusion, New Asian Buffet in Gainesville, TX, offers a diverse culinary experience with a wide selection of Chinese dishes, sushi, hibachi, and desserts in an all-you-can-eat format. While one customer praised the freshness, variety, and friendly service, another reported issues with the quality and temperature of several dishes, particularly the chicken, chow mein, and fried rice. Potential customers should consider these differing experiences when deciding whether to dine at New Asian Buffet. The restaurant's key features are its extensive selection and the inclusion of sushi and hibachi alongside traditional Chinese buffet fare. For the most up-to-date information on services, hours, and any potential promotions, contacting New Asian Buffet directly is recommended.

Everything we had was fresh and really good tasting. They also refilled the buffet quickly while we were here. Vast selection of your typical Chinese dishes, sushi, hibachi, and a large dessert bar. Service was very friendly.

My god where do I begin… the chicken was VERY tough and chewy as though it was old.. chicken was gross. They did bring out a fresh batch of honey chicken and it was just “okay” not chewy but weird. The chow mein was bland and not good also cold, broccoli was surprisingly edible. The fried rice was cold & bland. The hibachi grill was mediocre. I was scared to have them throw in chicken as it was probably old so I stuck with vegetables. Some of the dessert items were good such as the chocolate pudding and butter cookie. Looks like most the dessert items are not made there reason why they are slightly enjoyable to eat.

We checked out New Asian Buffet in Gainesville for the first time and had a pretty great experience overall. We hadn’t been before, but several staff members mentioned it’s under new management as of a couple months ago, and you can definitely tell they’re trying to keep things fresh and organized. The place was really clean, and I noticed someone constantly going around the buffet, making sure everything was stocked and looking good. He had an earpiece in and was giving live orders to the kitchen over the PA—super efficient and kind of cool to see. I never had any issues finding serving utensils, and there weren’t any food spills or messes at the buffet area, which is rare. They were on top of it! Food-wise, I really liked the cream cheese wontons. There were a lot of choices overall, and the staff was really friendly. I do wish there had been more seafood options—especially squid or calamari, even on the hibachi/Mongolian grill side—but that’s more of a personal preference. All in all, it was a positive first visit. We’d definitely go back and try it again.

My husband tasted almost everything available there. I tried a few things & it all tasted old, hard. I'm almost sure the chicken smelled funny but I tasted it anyway. My stomach started turning upset. The sushi was hard, the soft drinks had a gross taste to it. Maybe the water, the ice? There were a lot of gnats flying around. The wait staff was smiley & kind. My daughter enjoyed the crab Rangoon.
