About New Asia

New Asia, situated at 474 Lexington Pkwy N in St. Paul, Minnesota, falls under the platform category of "Chinese Restaurant," indicating its role in providing Chinese cuisine to the local community. Typically, such establishments offer a variety of dishes, including appetizers, main courses featuring different meats and vegetables, rice, and noodle preparations. However, recent customer reviews paint a concerning picture regarding the food quality and customer service at this particular New Asia location.

As a Chinese restaurant serving the St. Paul area, New Asia aims to offer a range of Chinese-inspired dishes to its patrons. The provided address suggests a physical location where customers can likely place orders for takeout or potentially dine-in, although the reviews do not explicitly detail the availability of dine-in service. The focus of the recent feedback is overwhelmingly negative, pointing to significant issues with the food preparation and the handling of customer complaints.

Based on the severely critical recent customer reviews, the environment of New Asia is not directly addressed, but the issues raised about food safety and management response could indirectly suggest a problematic operational environment. One long-term customer, with over five years of patronage, notes a significant decline in food quality since a change in management in 2025. This suggests that the standards and practices of the restaurant may have deteriorated, impacting the dining experience for customers.

In terms of services, New Asia offers food preparation and order fulfillment. However, the recent feedback raises serious concerns about the quality of these services. One customer reported receiving raw egg rolls, a significant food safety hazard. Their attempt to address this issue with the manager resulted in being hung up on, indicating a severe lack of customer service and a failure to address a potentially dangerous situation. This breakdown in service is a major point of concern for any potential customers.

The features of New Asia, as described by recent customers, are largely negative. The egg rolls, which were described as the "only decent thing" by one reviewer, still presented a critical issue of being raw inside for another customer. This inconsistency in the preparation of even a seemingly acceptable item is troubling. The orange chicken was reported to have no flavor and an unpleasant texture, being both tough and mushy. The fried rice was described as bland and cold, further indicating a lack of quality in their staple dishes. The lo mein was deemed "sooooo disgusting" and beyond saving even with the addition of soy sauce, leading the customer to discard their entire order.

The stark contrast between a long-term customer's past positive experiences and the current negative ones underscores a significant decline in the quality of food at New Asia. The accusations of raw food and poorly prepared dishes raise serious food safety concerns that potential customers should be aware of. The unprofessional and dismissive response from the manager when confronted with these issues further exacerbates the negative impression of this establishment.

Currently, no information regarding any promotional offers or special deals at New Asia is available in the provided customer reviews. Given the serious concerns raised about food quality and customer service, it is unlikely that promotional offers would outweigh these significant drawbacks for potential customers. Individuals considering ordering from New Asia might want to exercise extreme caution based on the recent, highly negative feedback.

In conclusion, recent customer experiences at New Asia on Lexington Pkwy N in St. Paul, MN, paint a dire picture of declining food quality and severely inadequate customer service. Reports of raw food, tasteless and poorly textured dishes, and a dismissive manager indicate significant operational issues. The stark contrast with past positive experiences suggests a severe downturn in the restaurant's standards following a management change in 2025. Potential customers are strongly advised to consider these serious concerns before deciding to order from New Asia. The lack of any positive recent feedback and the gravity of the issues reported should give any prospective diners significant pause. It might be prudent to explore other Chinese restaurant options in the St. Paul area that have more positive and recent customer reviews.

I’ve been coming here for literally 5+ years and the food before the new management was phenomenal but in 2025 the food has gone down. I order food tonight egg foo yong chicken two egg rolls, egg rolls when I bid into it raw raw ! I called the manager at the store he hung up on me in my face because I told him my circumstances about the food that wasn’t properly made now if I would’ve ate the food and I got a food poison that would’ve been on them, but I didn’t get even a chance to even say a proper message to him about the food or even get replaced about the food, I’m very disappointed in Asia and I really hope that the management gets terminated the business gets terminated, and the health department comes evaluates the place because for the last five years, it has been gone downhill and the food has been not good. Just take a look at the rates.

The only decent thing were the egg rolls. My orange chicken had no flavor and was tough but mushy on the outside. The fried rice was bland and cold. The lo mein was sooooo disgusting, no amount of sow sauce could save it. Threw it all away😡

An Amazing take out place. Perhaps a little pricey but having four or five different levels of spicy is so worth it. The light spicy a little spicy was great for my Midwest palette. the very spicy was great for my youngest who wants their mouth on fire. your sauces are fantastic and you can get the Kung Pao or the orange chicken also on wings once again at those four levels of spicy. Food's ready super fast. the interior dining room is a little dated. A solid neighborhood place. Don't know if they're ever on but they have a Pac-Man arcade cabinet and an X-Man arcade cabinet. The chicken fried rice had real large chunks of chicken in it.

This is the second time I've ordered from New Asia. First time I ordered to go at the restaurant. The food was good, rice was hot & fresh. Except the egg rolls were fried spring rolls w/a slimy texture inside. I was surprised the other food was good cause the place looked dirty, so I wasn't expecting to be upset. Today we ordered delivery. Three lunch specials to share and the meat is inedible in the Generals Tsos Chicken & Seasame Chicken. Both and had a very gross texture, like chopped up chicken wing meat mixed w/flour & deep fried into balls. Grisly, fatty, stringy w/blackened chunks in flour parts. GT came w/1 broccoli sprig. Chicken fried rice had no flavor other than stale tasting. Very upset -- huge waste of money.I would like a refund. Ordering delivery was easy & on time but who cares if the food is horrible. I have pics but can't find where to post 😕

The food is delicious, generous portions and reasonably priced. It was delivered incredibly quickly, and was hot and fresh. They included a calendar for the lunar new year, which was unexpected but sweet. They definitely earned a regular customer.
