About New 2nd Wok
Welcome to New 2nd Wok, a Chinese restaurant situated at 106 N 2nd St in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania (PA 17101), USA. As a part of the Chinese Restaurant category, New 2nd Wok aims to provide Chinese cuisine options to the local community in Harrisburg. You can contact New 2nd Wok by phone at (717) 920-0900 or via mobile at +1 717-920-0900 for placing orders or making inquiries about their services.
However, it is important to consider recent customer feedback regarding New 2nd Wok, as the reviews highlight several significant issues with the food quality and order accuracy. One customer who opted for delivery shared a particularly negative experience with their order of General Tso's Chicken. Upon opening the container, the dish appeared to be someone's leftovers, containing only one large piece of chicken with rice scattered throughout, suggesting it had been disturbed or was not freshly prepared. Furthermore, the quantity of rice was described as barely any. If you are considering ordering their General Tso's Chicken, this review indicates a potential for a disappointing presentation and portion size.
The same customer also ordered chicken and rice soup, which they reported lacked any broth, consisting solely of chicken and rice. This deviates from the typical expectation of a soup and suggests a potential issue in the preparation of this item. Additionally, they noted that their vegetable spring rolls were missing from the delivery order, indicating a problem with order accuracy, which can be frustrating for customers.
Despite these negative experiences with the Chinese dishes, the reviewer did mention that the cheese fries were "pretty good." This suggests that while their Chinese cuisine may have issues, other items on their menu, possibly outside the traditional Chinese fare, might be of better quality. However, as a Chinese restaurant, the quality of their core offerings is paramount.
Another customer provided feedback indicating that while the food wasn't "terrible," there were certainly better options available. This suggests a mediocre experience overall. They specifically mentioned the lo mein being "somewhat dry and lacking in flavor," which is a common issue that can make a noodle dish unappetizing. If you typically enjoy flavorful and well-moistened lo mein, this feedback suggests that New 2nd Wok's version might not meet your expectations.
The same reviewer also found the egg roll to be "disappointingly stale." Staleness in a fried appetizer like an egg roll can significantly detract from its appeal, affecting both the texture and the taste. This indicates a potential issue with the freshness of some of their fried items.
Their experience with the General Tso's Chicken was also mixed. While they noted that it was spicy, which might appeal to those who enjoy heat, the chicken was unfortunately described as "mushy." Mushy chicken can be an indicator of overcooking or improper preparation, affecting the texture and overall enjoyment of the dish. The reviewer concluded that their overall experience was "MID," suggesting a very average and unmemorable meal.
Based on these reviews, potential customers should be aware of the reported issues with the quality and preparation of several key Chinese dishes at New 2nd Wok, including the General Tso's Chicken, lo mein, and egg rolls. There also seems to be a potential for issues with order accuracy, as evidenced by the missing spring rolls in one customer's delivery.
The reviews do not provide any information about the environment or ambiance of New 2nd Wok for dine-in customers. The feedback primarily focuses on the quality of the delivered food. Therefore, it is unclear what the dining experience might be like if you were to eat at the restaurant itself. If the atmosphere of a restaurant is important to you, you might need to inquire directly or visit the location to assess it.
Similarly, the reviews do not offer extensive details about the services provided by New 2nd Wok beyond delivery. It is likely that they also offer takeout options, given that delivery is available. To confirm if they have dine-in facilities and to understand the full scope of their services, it would be best to contact them directly.
Promotional information is also absent from the customer feedback provided. There are no mentions of discounts, special offers, or combo deals. If you are interested in knowing about any current promotions that New 2nd Wok might be running, you should inquire when you contact them by phone.
In conclusion, recent customer reviews for New 2nd Wok in Harrisburg, PA, indicate potential concerns regarding the quality and preparation of their Chinese dishes, including issues with the General Tso's Chicken, lo mein, and egg rolls. There was also a report of a missing item in a delivery order. While one reviewer found their cheese fries to be good, the overall sentiment regarding the Chinese cuisine is lukewarm at best. Potential customers should consider these points when deciding whether to order from or visit New 2nd Wok. For more information about their menu, services (such as dine-in or takeout), and any current promotions, please contact them directly at (717) 920-0900 or +1 717-920-0900.

Customer Reviews
Got food delivered. Ordered the General Tso's Chicken. When opened container it looked like it was someone's leftovers. Had 1 big chicken chunk, with rice all over it, like the dish was stirred/gone though, and barely any rice. The chicken and rice soup, was just chicken and rice no broth at all. Never received the vegetable spring rolls. Overall bad experience. Their cheese fries were pretty good, though.
Although there are certainly better options out there, the food at this establishment wasn't terrible. The lo mein was somewhat dry and lacking in flavor, while the egg roll was disappointingly stale. The General Tso chicken, though spicy, was unfortunately mushy. Overall, the experience was MID.
Had lunch here (dined in). Lunch menu is only Monday to Saturday. We had the Chicken with Fresh Mushroom and Chicken with Bean Curd /Tofu. Both dishes came with white rice. Overall the dishes were delicious, the portion was decent., and the price was definitely affordable! The only negative we had was that the rice was a bit undercooked.
This place is solid. I’m from Philadelphia and frequent Chinatown often and this was very flavorful and above average Chinese for the area. I highly recommend. The fried rice was a little oily but honestly it was so good I didn’t care. I got the beef hunan and it was a 10/10. Also wonton are definitely homemade and taste wonderful.
Food was great. People were really nice and helpful. Decor was... you're going for the food. Really happy we found it, my friends and all I had a great lunch.
