About New 1 China

Welcome to New 1 China, a Chinese restaurant located at 805 G, Patton Ave in Asheville, North Carolina (28806), USA. Operating within the Chinese Restaurant category, New 1 China offers Chinese cuisine to the local community. You can contact them at (828) 255-7988 or their mobile number +1 828-255-7988 for inquiries.

As a Chinese Restaurant, New 1 China likely provides a range of standard American Chinese dishes, primarily for takeout, although dine-in options may or may not be available. Based on the limited customer reviews found online, there are significant concerns regarding the quality of the food and a perceived decline in standards over time. Potential customers should carefully consider this feedback.

One particularly critical review described their experience as "by far the worst Chinese food I've ever had in my life." This customer, who ordered on Christmas Day, felt compelled to leave a review due to the extremely poor quality of the meal. They specifically mentioned the pu pu platter for two as "disgusting," likening it to leftovers that had been reheated, with an overpowering taste of "old dirty oil." The pork in the platter was described as a "fried piece of fat, no meat," the chicken on a stick was "super dry and hard," and the dumplings were "completely overcooked and rubbery." The only item deemed "barely edible" was the General Tso's chicken, after the rest of the pu pu platter was discarded. Furthermore, the pork fried rice was reported to contain nothing but rice.

Another review echoed a sentiment of declining food quality. This customer stated that they had been ordering from New 1 China for years but had noticed a downturn. They specifically mentioned the orange chicken as being "dry" and consisting of "leftover scrap pieces," concluding that it was "not worth it anymore." This suggests a potential issue with the consistency and quality of ingredients used by the restaurant. The reviewer urged the restaurant to "get better quality chicken" for their return.

Given these two highly negative reviews, it is difficult to ascertain any positive aspects regarding the food quality at New 1 China. Both reviews paint a picture of poorly prepared dishes using substandard ingredients or improper cooking techniques. The issues range from stale and reheated appetizers to dry and low-quality main dishes, and even a lack of expected ingredients in staple items like fried rice.

Due to the limited number of reviews and the strong focus on negative food quality, there is little to no information available regarding the environment or atmosphere of New 1 China. As a takeout-focused establishment (inferred from the reviews), the ambiance of any potential dine-in area is not discussed. The emphasis of the feedback is squarely on the unsatisfactory culinary experience.

Similarly, details about the services offered are scarce beyond the fact that it is a Chinese restaurant providing takeout. The reviews do not comment on the friendliness or efficiency of the service, only on the poor quality of the end product – the food itself. Therefore, it is not possible to provide an assessment of the service based on the provided information.

In terms of features, it is challenging to identify any positive attributes based on the current reviews. The fact that they offer a pu pu platter and standard Chinese-American dishes like General Tso's chicken and orange chicken are simply menu items, and the execution of these items has been heavily criticized. There is no mention of any unique selling points or specialties that might distinguish New 1 China from other Chinese restaurants.

There is also no information provided in the reviews about any promotional offers, discounts, or specials that New 1 China might be running. Local users would need to contact the restaurant directly to inquire about such information, although the overwhelmingly negative feedback regarding food quality might deter them from doing so.

For local users in Asheville seeking a Chinese restaurant, the available reviews for New 1 China present a strong cautionary message. The descriptions of disgusting appetizers, poorly cooked meats, and a decline in the quality of previously enjoyed dishes should give potential customers significant pause. Unless there is more recent and positive feedback available from other sources, it would be prudent to consider alternative Chinese dining options in the Asheville area that have a more favorable reputation for food quality and consistency.

In conclusion, the limited online reviews for New 1 China at 805 G, Patton Ave, Asheville, NC, are overwhelmingly negative, focusing on severely poor food quality, including stale appetizers, poorly cooked meats, and a perceived decline in standards. There is no information provided about the environment, services, or promotional offers. Local users are strongly advised to exercise caution and consider other Chinese restaurants in Asheville based on this feedback.

This is by far the worst Chinese food I've ever had in my life. I almost thought I was on a reality TV show and the host was going to jump out from the corner and give me my real food. I ordered from here Xmas day so I wanted to give them some slack but the food was so bad I had to leave a review. The pu pu platter for two was disgusting. It was like it was left out 2 days ago and re-heated up in a microwave except the taste of old dirty oil overpowered everything. The pork was a fried piece of fat, no meat. The chicken on a stick (was it suppose to be teriyaki?) was super dry and hard. The dumplings was completely overcooked and rubbery, could barely bite into it. The general TSO was the only barely edible thing after throwing out the pu pu platter. Pork fried rice had nothing in it besides rice.

Food has went downhill. We've been ordering here for years. The orange chicken is dry and it's just leftover scrap peices now. Not worth it anymore. Get better quality chicken and we'll be back.

I ordered both a lunch combo, and a special combo, and chose for the rice to be pork fried rice. There was nothing in the rice, no pork or even onions, peas, carrots, bits of egg, just nothing. It was just plain fried rice. Only positive from my orders was that the shrimp in the lobster sauce were properly cleaned shrimp. Haven't eaten here in years, but after having ordered from here once more, I can say I won't be doing so again.

Great take out option. Tasty food, generous portions, friendly staff. Enjoyed the General Tso's Tofu, Lemon Chicken, and Vegetable Lo Mein.

I'm so annoyed that as a very long time Asheville resident - I had never tried this place until tonight! I eat a lot of Asian food and Chinese takeout is my favorite comfort food. Everything was amazing. This was the best Singapore Mei Fun I've ever had. We ordered 5 dishes for our family. All of them were perfect. Thank you New China!
