About Neo-China Restaurant

Neo-China Restaurant is a Chinese restaurant situated at 4015 University Dr in Durham, North Carolina (NC 27707, USA). Based on recent customer feedback obtained from online reviews, experiences at this establishment appear to be varied, particularly concerning the quality and preparation of their dishes. For local users seeking a Chinese restaurant in the Durham area, it's important to consider these differing perspectives when making a dining decision.

One customer's experience was overwhelmingly negative. They described their meal, ordered through Uber Eats, as "horrible." Specific criticisms included watery and flavorless Kung Pao Chicken, Orange Chicken that was simply cooked chicken pieces without batter, Broccoli that tasted like chemicals, and a general lack of sauce, resulting in "watery soup" instead. Furthermore, this reviewer noted that the dishes contained mainly vegetables with very little chicken and that even the rice was dry and hard. Due to the extremely poor quality, they were unable to finish their meal and expressed significant disappointment, stating they would never order from Neo-China Restaurant again and regretting the lack of a refund from Uber Eats.

In contrast, another customer's experience, while not entirely glowing, was more moderate. They described their meal as "ok." This reviewer also noted that the Kung Pao Chicken contained a larger amount of vegetables than expected. Similar to the first review, they found the Orange Chicken to lack sufficient sauce, and the rice was also described as being a bit hard for their liking. However, this customer did find a positive aspect in the generous quantity of food provided for what they considered a "decent price." This suggests that while the quality and preparation might not have met their ideal standards, the value in terms of portion size was acceptable.

The discrepancy between these two reviews highlights a potential inconsistency in the food quality and preparation at Neo-China Restaurant, or perhaps varying expectations and preferences among customers. The first review paints a picture of significant issues with multiple dishes, while the second suggests that some aspects, like portion size and price, might be satisfactory even if the flavor and texture are not consistently optimal.

It's also important to note that one of the reviews specifically mentions ordering through Uber Eats, raising the possibility that the quality of food might differ for dine-in customers, although the reviewer who found the experience "ok" did not specify their order method. Without further information, it is difficult to ascertain if the negative experiences are specific to delivery orders or indicative of the overall food quality at the restaurant.

Neither review provides any details about the ambiance or environment of Neo-China Restaurant for dine-in customers. Therefore, local users interested in the dine-in experience would need to visit the location to form their own opinion on the atmosphere and service within the restaurant itself. The available information is limited to the food quality and value as perceived through delivery orders.

Similarly, there is no mention of any specific services offered by Neo-China Restaurant beyond the availability of ordering through a third-party delivery service like Uber Eats. It can be inferred that they likely offer takeout service as well, as is common for many Chinese restaurants. However, details regarding the efficiency or quality of their own takeout service are not available in these reviews.

Finally, there is no information provided regarding any promotional offers, discounts, or specialty dishes at Neo-China Restaurant, other than the specific items mentioned in the reviews (Kung Pao Chicken, Orange Chicken, Broccoli, and rice). Local users interested in learning about any current promotions or popular dishes might need to contact the restaurant directly.

In conclusion, the limited customer feedback available for Neo-China Restaurant in Durham, NC, presents a mixed picture. While one reviewer reported a severely negative experience with multiple poorly prepared dishes ordered via Uber Eats, another found the food to be just "ok," noting issues with sauce and rice texture but appreciating the portion size for the price. These contrasting views suggest that potential customers should approach with caution and perhaps consider trying a small order initially to assess the quality for themselves. Without information on the dine-in experience, services beyond delivery, or any promotional offerings, local users are encouraged to consider these factors and potentially seek more recent or additional reviews before making a decision.

horrible. the kung pao chicken was so watery and has no flavor. the orange chicken was not even fried in batter! it was just pieces of cooked chicken. the broccoli tasted like chemicals. and again, there was no sauce just this watery soup. And there was barely any chicken just mainly vegetables. even the rice was dry and hard. we ordered off uber so maybe it would have been different from the restaurant. But we couldn't even finish it it was so bad. Uber didn't give us a refund so that was a waste of my hard earned money. I am very disappointed and never ordering from here again.

it was ok, the kung pao chicken had more veggies than i thought, the orange chicken didn't have a lot of sauce and the rice was a bit hard for my liking but it gave a lot of food for a decent price.

Tried this place for the first time. It was not expensive. We had the crab Rangoon, they were good. The egg drop soup was very tasty. We ordered shrimp fried rice and it was a lot of food. There was a decent amount of shrimp in it, not a lot of vegetables, which I liked that for sure. We ordered the Hunan chicken. It tasted great but the vegetables to chicken ratio was like 70:30. Not saying there wasn't enough chicken, more like there was a lot of vegetables and had a decent amount of sauce, which I loved. The server was quick and attentive. We have been searching for good chinese food in the triangle for 3 years now, and this is only the second place we found. The restaurant was nice, with nice artwork everywhere. If you do spicy, their hot oil is very good and spicy. They also give you wonton chips when you sit down. The check was cheap and we ordered a lot. Overall, it was a great experience.

UPDATE!!!! After the response from the owner we decided to try Neo China again. Today everything was much better. The flavors were delicious and the service was excellent. We are delighted that the food was delicious. We will absolutely return. Thank you for responding and making the quality we all know and have loved over the years is back! The first 4 pictures are from the last visit and the last 2 pictures were from our most recent visit. You can even tell the difference from the pictures. We have loved Neo China for my entire life but had not eaten there in about a year. We were excited that we got there today but we were quite disappointed. The recipes have changed. The portion size is very small. We ordered pork lomein. The noodles were overcooked and there was literally no flavor at all. General tso chicken was tasty but not spicy at all. I believe it was orange chicken because there was zero spice . Mogolian beef was not tender. The flavor was just alright . Edible. The egg rolls were soft and had very little meat or flavor .The soup was pretty good. Dumpings were good. They are polite and the service is prompt but this was our last visit to neo china. A plus was the food wasn’t overly greasy. Maybe they have a new cook? Not sure but today was not a good day.

The food here is PHENOMENAL. one of my friends suggested we try it, he ordered some dumplings, I had ordered the orange chicken, and my husband ordered the shrimp in garlic sauce. We all shared a bit of each dish with each other to try it out. From that day, I Became hooked on their dumplings. Every dish is made with care and quality ingredients. The staff are wonderful. The prices are great. I keep coming back for more! I suggest anyone near the RDU area come out and try their food! Pics of the to go orange chicken and spicy honey shrimp. These portions are huge!!
