Nan Zhou Hand Drawn Noodle House

This genuinely might be one of my new favorite places to eat, not only in Chinatown but in Philly. My mother and I came here this past Saturday for lunch and we both agreed that every single dish we ordered was FANTASTIC. It was one of the best meals I’ve had. I’ve always wanted to try a hand drawn noodle house and I am so glad this place was my first impression of one!! We shared a scallion pancake and vegetable dumplings as appetizers. SO GOOD. My mother got the Szechuan Cold Noodles as her main and I got the Beef Brisket Noodle Soup. AMAZING. The portions are quite generous and the prices are so reasonable. Can’t wait to come back!!

First off this place is cash only. Do not even think of going there without cash. If it is busy, they will see you with other groups at the same table. This is just because it’s a very busy spot, especially during busy times. With those two things in mind, I always know the food is going to be great and I have been here twice in a week to eat. Both times it was the same. It was excellent. The service was excellent and the food absolutely tasted exactly the same as before. Raised beef noodle soup is a great choice as is the saliva chicken And scallion pancake. Next time I’ll try the shaved noodle, but the hand-drawn noodle is absolutely stellar with great chew and lots of bounce and not overcooked.

DELICIOUS noodles, friendly staff, and cash only! Ordered the dumpling sample platter and the beef noodle soup. Favorite dumplings would be the chicken and mushroom, and the classic pork and chive. The sample plate also featured a chicken curry dumpling but I would skip that next time. The beef noodle soup was absolutely delicious. They definitely did not skimp on the toppings and the noodles had a nice bounce but still retained a nice chew to them. Service was extremely efficient and staff were super friendly and attentive. We were extremely grateful when someone who was on their break came over to help us :) Can't wait to return when I'm back in Philly!!!!!

I got the braised beef with hand drawn noodles (拉面) and it was really good and soothing after a long day sightseeing. If you haven’t had Lanzhou style noodles definitely try them out. The dumplings were also better than dumpling specialty places I’ve had. The yellow was the best but idk what flavor it was.

Nan Zhou Hand Drawn Noodle House - Philly Mapo Tofu Noodles in a spicy peanut sauce Steamed vegetable dumplings LOVED the hand drawn noodles! Spice level was just about right. The hot chili crisp oil at the table was the perfect kick up in spicy these dishes needed for us. Noodles were lightly chewy, bouncy, and caught the sauces extremely well, just an absolute joy to eat! Service was helpful and super kind. Food came out pretty fast despite the amount of eat-in and take out business they had. Steamed veggie dumplings were a great app too. I suggest almost treating them like soup dumplings by biting the tip, dunking it in the dumplings sauce and pouring some of the chili crisp oil inside!
