About Namaste Indian Restaurant

Namaste Indian Restaurant, located at 3112 Rte 9W, Saugerties, NY 12477, USA, offers a taste of authentic Indian cuisine. You can contact them at (845) 552-0960 or +1 845-552-0960.

Customers have highlighted the rich and complex flavors of the dishes at Namaste. The Shahi Lamb Korma was described as rich, creamy, tender, and plentiful, while the Aloo Gobhi Mas was a well-received complement. The Garlic naan was noted for being perfectly chewy and sprinkled with coriander, indicating attention to detail. The restaurant also offers options for spice levels, catering to individual preferences.

One reviewer particularly praised the sensory experience, from the enticing aromas filling the dining area to the dazzling flavors of the food. They also mentioned a kind gesture of a complimentary mango lassi after complimenting the chef. The restaurant seems to have a significant take-out business.

However, another reviewer noted concerns about the cleanliness of the establishment, mentioning a dirty bathroom with no soap and food on the wall. This suggests that while the food may be well-regarded by some, the upkeep of the dining environment might be inconsistent.

The ambiance is described as no-nonsense with deep papaya orange walls. One customer found the large flat screen TV to be a nuisance. The service is generally seen as attentive, with a server described as no-nonsense yet helpful and another as quite affable.

In summary, Namaste Indian Restaurant in Saugerties, NY, appears to offer flavorful Indian dishes and attentive service. However, potential customers may want to be aware of the mixed feedback regarding the cleanliness of the dining area.

During the Plague of 2020, hungry for take-out Indian food, my partner and I walked in and out of Namaste. Big mistake. Sitting down at this same restaurant off a nondescript stretch of 9W a week ago, I knew—with its no-nonsense server, and its walls painted deep papaya orange, that the meal was going to be great. Even now my mouth waters in memory of this taste experience. Within minutes of placing our order, the dining area’s air was filled with smells from the kitchen. Something real was happening. The sensual complexity of Indian food, whose multitudinous scents I’ll awkwardly describe as bristling, sweet, unguenty, thorny, puckery, and the like, were upon us. And once the dishes came, unlike the smell, say of peanut butter being superior to its actual taste, the flavors of our dishes were dazzling. Rich and creamy, the Shahi Lamb Korma was tender and plentiful. The Aloo Gobhi Mas, a gustatory complement. I more than once asked my partner not to talk and closed my eyes while feeling the food. The Palak Paneer, decent. The Garlic naan, perfectly chewy and sprinkled with coriander, the latter being a real sign of a caring chef. It's also worth mentioning that the server gave us options over how spicy we wanted our food prepared. We were so happy with our meal that we overate, the way sometimes at an amusement park I have—out of delight—ridden one topsy-turvy ride too many, and made myself, as a consequence, a bit sick. Mind you, there is little that is showy about this joint. It’s not for the bougie folk who fancy themselves upper class but derive their sense of this from their phones. The bathroom could use refreshing and a carpenter’s touch. The large flat screen, which I requested be turned off, is a nuisance. But the overall experience of this establishment is non pareil. When I attempted to express my dining pleasure to a man who had emerged from the kitchen, my English was not understood. But I persisted and after passing my wish to another quite affable server to extend my compliments to the unseen chef, she was thanked with an on the house mango lassie. A bustling take-out business seems to be central to the restaurant’s success. Should we beset by another plague, I know exactly where to go. Total outlay: 60 dollars

The food was pretty good, but the place appeared dirty. The bathroom was dirty with no soap left, and there was food on the wall at our table.

Suggestions: Please call and reserve the tables before you visit the place. It’s the only Indian restaurant near by Catskills, which I visited . The staff (owner) : he is a humble person. I saw many visitors are coming at the time when restaurant is about to close and the restaurant run out of items at the end of the ; the visitors still requesting to the stuff to take their order because they are coming from far places to have Indian food. Staff some how managing them all. It is so humble of him. Although me and my friends dropped in the place by 6pm, staff says that we have to wait 5 to 10 mins. We are going inside and asking but we really get sitting around 7:30. And the food was miss managed . They give us chicken biryanis instead of veg biriyani , the better thing is after 2 min One of the staff member come and inform us not to eat it and he exchange it. For food servings also we get order so late around 9:15 we left . As we order nans and tandoori chapaties , but we did not get that because the staff gave our food to wrong table . Somehow we manage our hunger and manage in what we get. So please reserve table before .

Salad was delivered hot and wilted, couldn’t eat it, plus there was no dressing on it. They gave me the wrong soup and it was a very small portion. Chicken tikka masala was dried out chicken chunks. Too expensive ($42 for 1 person with delivery and tip!) and not worth it at all. I ordered Uber eats and the restaurant took forever to get my food together. Felt bad for the driver waiting. Never again.

This was my first time ordering from this restaurant. I had just ordered a Lamb Tikka Masala w. an extra side of Kashmiri Pulao which I believe is a rice dish with nuts and dried fruit. The food for the most part was ok, until an hour later. My stomach got irritated and I threw up. I'm not sure if it was something in that sauce because of the way it looked (extra grease) or if it was the nuts in the rice, but I may have had food poisoning. Very disappointed, I think I'll refrain from eating their food :/.
