About My Home Chinese Restaurant

Welcome to My Home Chinese Restaurant, a local establishment within the Chinese Restaurant category, situated at 8716 Imperial Hwy., Downey, CA 90242, USA. For those in the Downey area seeking Chinese cuisine, My Home Chinese Restaurant offers a takeout service with an a la carte menu. You can place your order by calling them at (562) 393-6440 or their mobile number, +1 562-393-6440.

Based on recent customer feedback, it's important for potential patrons to be aware of the unique service style at My Home Chinese Restaurant. One customer seeking a quick combo meal, typically including rice, chow mein, and a main dish, reported that this type of offering is not available. Instead, My Home Chinese Restaurant operates on an a la carte system, where each dish, including sides like rice and chow mein, must be ordered individually. This approach resulted in a significantly higher estimated cost for a meal compared to the combo meals commonly found at other Chinese restaurants.

The same customer also noted the physical condition of the premises upon arrival, describing it as dilapidated with random chairs and no visible tables, further indicating that the dining area was closed with a sign. This suggests that My Home Chinese Restaurant primarily focuses on takeout service at this time. Customers intending to dine in may find that this option is currently unavailable.

Another customer who ordered sweet and sour pork reported that the food itself was good. However, they mentioned a minor inconvenience of the order not including a fork and napkins. This suggests that while the food quality may be satisfactory for some dishes, it's advisable for customers to double-check their takeout orders for necessary utensils and condiments before leaving the premises.

Given the feedback, a key feature of My Home Chinese Restaurant is its a la carte menu system. This means that customers have the flexibility to choose precisely what they want, but it also implies that the cost for a complete meal might be higher than what one would typically expect from a "combo" offering. For individuals looking for set combinations or budget-friendly meal deals, My Home Chinese Restaurant may not align with those preferences.

The service at My Home Chinese Restaurant appears to be primarily geared towards takeout, given the reported closure of the dining area. While one customer experienced a lack of essential items like cutlery, the interaction during the order placement was not detailed. It's reasonable to expect standard customer service when placing and picking up orders.

Based on the limited information available, it's challenging to ascertain specific details about the environment beyond the observation of a closed and somewhat dilapidated dining area. Local users should likely anticipate a functional space focused on order preparation and pickup rather than a comfortable dine-in setting.

Currently, there is no promotional information available from the provided customer reviews. It is unknown if My Home Chinese Restaurant offers any discounts, special deals, or combo meals that were not apparent to the customers who left reviews. To inquire about any potential promotions or to get a better understanding of their menu and pricing structure, local users are encouraged to contact the restaurant directly at (562) 393-6440 or +1 562-393-6440.

In summary, My Home Chinese Restaurant in Downey, CA, operates primarily as a takeout establishment with an a la carte menu. Customers looking for traditional combo meals may need to seek alternatives. While one customer found the sweet and sour pork to be good, another highlighted the lack of a dining area and the higher cost associated with ordering each component of a meal separately. Local users considering My Home Chinese Restaurant should be prepared for an a la carte ordering experience and should confirm the availability of any necessary items with their order. For further details on the menu, pricing, and any potential promotions, direct contact with the restaurant is recommended.

If you're looking for a quick meal, an easy "combo" that includes rice, chow mein, and some main dishes, LOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE! I came here with high hopes, wanting to support local mom and pop type businesses. When I arrived, the place looked dilapidated, and random chairs are tossed around. No tables anywhere. A sign says "dining area closed " Ok 🤔 I'm here for a simple combo. Let's see.... oh wait! No combos?! That's right! Everything is "a la cart!" I came for a quick meal, and instead, the worker says I have to order each "side" individually! Ok so....a typical $12 combo meal I can get anywhere else, will now cost me over $30, because I have to by each side individually! It's just me! I don't need a lot of food, just a regular combo! NO LUCK! Forget this...I'm outta here.... 🤷🏻

Ordered online today , decided to upgrade my white rice with their $4 xtra for “chow mein” This is what I received. An order of plain unflavored noodles. Won’t be ordering again.

Unsafe, disgusting, disrespectful delivery service. During the Covid-19 pandemic, many businesses are doing their best to provide great customer service, It is so disappointing that the personnel at a  restaurant in which we place our trust acts in a disrespectful manner only because the tip did not satisfy the delivery person’s demand or because a customer’s feedback is not pleasant to the manager’s ears. The person that appears in the video or photos (Yelp and Google) is the Restaurant’s delivery person, he is not a third party. He took revenge for an unsatisfactory tip by spitting and coughing at the person receiving the food who was with a less than 6 feet distance from him, we were in the safety of our home following all the recommendations indicated by The health department and our Government and suddenly some unprofessional delivery person acts disrespectfully by performing the above-mentioned actions against us, and I say us because he knew there were other people in the house because the main door was open and my kids were playing around and can be heard, he also heard me when I said that the person picking up the food was going to be there soon to receive the food. The delivery was contactless but I forgot completely about it. After Posting my review on Yelp, I came across other negative reviews about the delivery service, a tip is demanded, and attitude was given when the delivery person was not satisfied with the tip. The managing personal at the restaurant is very unprofessional  and disrespectful because when I provided my feedback and requested for the delivery employee’s name, the lady started to be very defensive up to the point that I was banned from ordering from them, very poor customer service. But the fact that the delivery person did this is very disappointing and shows how much there is a need at My Home Chinese Restaurant for training or new personnel/employees, Now after experiencing this it has me thinking what is it done in the kitchen when the food is prepared? After this incident, I felt the need to report them to the Health department so I did.
