About Mr. Wok | Chinese Restaurant

Welcome to Mr. Wok | Chinese Restaurant, a local establishment in the Chinese Restaurant category, situated at 6320 U.S. 287 Frontage Rd in Arlington, Texas (TX 76001, USA). Mr. Wok aims to provide a range of Chinese cuisine options for the local community, catering to various tastes and preferences. Based on recent customer feedback available online, this introduction offers an objective look at what potential diners can expect from this restaurant.

Customer reviews for Mr. Wok | Chinese Restaurant present a somewhat nuanced perspective on the dining experience. One reviewer shared an interaction with the order-taker who seemed "a little uninformed about some basic questions" and appeared unwilling to accommodate requests for off-menu items. This reviewer noted that the menu was "very Americanized" but still found the flavors and food to be "pretty good." Interestingly, they mentioned that while they would bring their "white family" to the restaurant, they would not bring their "Chinese family," suggesting a perception that the cuisine might not align with more traditional Chinese palates. The same reviewer recounted an instance where, upon asking for a scallion pancake, the order-taker attempted to suggest moo shu due to its inclusion of pancakes, indicating a potential lack of familiarity with specific Chinese dishes.

Despite this critique regarding menu authenticity and staff knowledge of more traditional dishes, other customers have had positive first-time experiences. One reviewer stated they would "go back" after their initial visit. This customer ordered the chicken fried rice with egg rolls and orange chicken with spring rolls, implying satisfaction with these standard American-Chinese fare items.

Another customer echoed the sentiment that "the food was pretty good." This positive assessment of the food quality suggests that while the menu might lean towards Americanized versions of Chinese dishes, the taste and preparation are generally well-received. This reviewer did express a slight preference against the spring rolls, noting that they were "not what I am used to" but not necessarily bad. This highlights that individual preferences for specific items can vary.

Based on these reviews, Mr. Wok | Chinese Restaurant appears to offer a menu that caters primarily to an Americanized understanding of Chinese cuisine. While the flavors are generally considered good, those seeking more authentic or less common Chinese dishes might find the selection limited or the staff less knowledgeable about them. However, for those accustomed to and fond of popular American-Chinese dishes, Mr. Wok seems to provide a satisfactory experience.

In terms of services, Mr. Wok | Chinese Restaurant undoubtedly offers takeout, as is common with most Chinese restaurants. The guy who took our order seemed a little uninformed about some basic questions. If it wasn't printed on the menu it wasn't going to happen. I like to try and probe to find off the menu items. The menu was very Americanized but the flavors and food were still pretty good. I would bring my white family. I would not bring my Chinese family. When I asked for scallion pancake, he tried to sell me moo shu because it comes with pancakes lool. If you know you know.

First time visiting and I would go back. We ordered the chicken fried rice with egg rolls and orange chicken with spring rolls. The food was pretty good. I didn't care for the spring rolls but they weren't terrible, just not what I am used to.

Got there about 20 minutes before they closed . Kitchen was pretty much closed/cleaned . Most of the order was fresh with the exception of these. Definitely was reheated and given to us. This is the first time out of a few years of eating here. Hopefully it doesn’t happen again.
