About Mr. Tong
For those in US seeking a new Chinese takeout option, consider Mr. Tong. While their physical location is in Brooklyn, NY, USA, they offer meal delivery services that might bring a delightful culinary experience to your home.
As a Chinese Restaurant, Mr. Tong seems to prioritize the quality and preparation of their food. One enthusiastic reviewer felt the "food Gods have blessed this place," noting the visible time and attention dedicated to cooking. This suggests a commitment to fresh and carefully made dishes, potentially offering a more authentic taste of Chinese cuisine.
The physical establishment is described as a small but clean store with big windows, offering a nice view for dine-in customers. While this doesn't directly translate to the delivery experience, it hints at a potentially pleasant environment where your food is prepared.
However, another customer reported an issue with their order of fried jumbo shrimp, which was unexpectedly prepared in dumpling batter. This led to a negative interaction with the staff when attempting to correct the order. This review highlights the importance of clear communication when placing your order to ensure you receive your desired dish.
If you're in US and looking to explore new Chinese flavors through delivery, Mr. Tong presents a mixed picture based on the available reviews. The positive feedback suggests potentially delicious and thoughtfully prepared food, while the negative experience indicates a need for clarity when ordering. Consider trying Mr. Tong for your next meal delivery to experience their cuisine firsthand, keeping in mind the importance of specifying your preferences when placing your order.

The food Gods have blessed this place. You can see the time and attention they put into the preparation of the food. I believe I have found another hidden gem to add to my takeout menu rack. It's a small store but it provides a nice view with big windows. Amazingly clean. I'm returning to work through the menu.
Ordered fried Jumbo shrimp & got it fried in dumpling batter...idk who has ever fried food with dumpling batter but i highly doubt that their fried chicken is in dumpling batter. Called to ask for regular fried Jumbo shrimp & was dealt with rudely. Don’t know about any of their other food but make sure they understand what kind of food you’re requesting.
I have been a customer since 2007 I ordered chicken and broccoli last night and the chicken is different. the texture is soft and it feels like processed chicken with skin in t. scaled today to ask if they changed their chicken they said it is white meat and they use the same supplier. They also said they have not gotten any complaints. I will only order vegetables in the future or meat with bones.
I am in complete awe of how drastically the prices have increased!!! Insane…. the food doesn’t have the same fresh taste any longer. This is coming from someone that have tried Mr. Tong’s for years. I’m just honestly in disbelief of the prices. A regular egg roll or shrimp roll that all other establishments sell for $1.35 - $1.50, here they now sell it for $3!!! I hope they remain in the community and still attract the same customers, otherwise, overtime I can see this establishment closing down.
Basic Chinese-American takeout but the food taste fresher with better ingredients than you would find at the typical takeout spot. I had the beef and broccoli combination. The beef did not have the common chewy and gristly texture that is typical of most places. It tasted good and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the meat. Rice was cooked perfect with no stale or burnt pieces. In addition, the pork fried rice had nice chunky pieces of pork. Egg roll that came with the combination was not overly greasy and didn't have that weird oil taste. Crispy outside and great texture inside. Seems like they're better about changing their oil. For those who want to dine in, the location is clean and spacious, you'll find a visble A rating outside the window. No sticky tables, chairs or strong unpleasant smells. Service is really fast, as others have mentioned. That being said, I should state that I placed my order at the location so I didn't experience any of the service issues others have mentioned through phone ordering. Overall, this is a much better Chinese takeout spot in comparison to what you'd find around the Kensington area.
