About Mr. Ma’s Kitchen
Welcome to Mr. Ma’s Kitchen, a Chinese restaurant located at 10118 Bandley Dr A in Cupertino, California. Specializing in authentic braised food (卤味) and a selection of other flavorful dishes, Mr. Ma’s Kitchen operates primarily as a to-go establishment, bringing the taste of traditional Chinese cuisine directly to your home. Based on customer reviews, Mr. Ma’s Kitchen is known for its delicious and well-prepared food, particularly its braised items and spicy offerings, coupled with friendly service from the owners.
A significant highlight of Mr. Ma’s Kitchen is their authentic braised food, referred to as "卤味" (lu wei). Customers have described it as "pretty good," indicating a genuine and satisfying taste of this traditional Chinese cooking method, which involves simmering ingredients in a flavorful broth infused with various herbs and spices. This suggests that if you are a fan of deeply flavored, tender meats and other items prepared in this style, Mr. Ma’s Kitchen is worth exploring.
One of their popular items is the red oil chicken (口水鸡), also known as "kou shui ji" or Sichuan cold chicken in chili oil. Customers who ordered this for takeout found it to be "really nice." The chicken itself is praised for being exceptionally tender, described as "probably most tender chicken without too much grease," which is a significant plus for those who appreciate succulent poultry without excessive oiliness. The accompanying spicy sauce is noted for its authentic heat, with one reviewer mentioning that it is "real spicy that you can feel," appealing to those who enjoy a genuine kick in their food.
A thoughtful feature of Mr. Ma’s Kitchen's takeout service for the red oil chicken is that the sauces are provided on the side. This includes two cups of spicy sauce and two cups of non-spicy sauce, allowing customers to have complete control over their preferred level of spiciness. This customization ensures that the dish can be enjoyed by individuals with varying tolerances for heat. The sauce itself is so flavorful that even the cucumbers and peanuts included in the dish are described as "tasty," highlighting the overall quality of the preparation.
In addition to freshly prepared items like the red oil chicken, Mr. Ma’s Kitchen also offers other braised foods that are vacuum-packed and stored in a refrigerator for takeout. This method of packaging is appreciated by customers as it enhances food safety, particularly during warmer months. One reviewer who purchased these vacuum-packed items noted their availability in the refrigerator and mentioned their intention to try them later. An update revealed that these braised items were "super spicy," even more so than the red oil chicken, which is important information for spice enthusiasts and those who prefer milder flavors.
The menu at Mr. Ma’s Kitchen seems to offer a variety of other tempting dishes that customers have expressed interest in trying. These include cold noodles (凉面) and Liangpi (凉皮), which are both refreshing noodle dishes often enjoyed during warmer weather. Braised beef shank (卤牛腱) and braised pork hock are also mentioned, indicating a further selection of their signature braised items. Additionally, bell-shaped dumplings (钟水饺), known as "zhong shui jiao," are on the menu but were sold out during one customer's visit, suggesting their popularity. This variety indicates that Mr. Ma’s Kitchen has a range of dishes beyond just the red oil chicken and the vacuum-packed braised items.
The primary drawback mentioned by a customer is the limited parking situation. Street parking is available but can be scarce, and while there is a nearby parking lot, it was not specifically designed for the store, causing uncertainty about whether it is appropriate to park there. This is a practical consideration for customers planning to pick up their orders.
It is crucial to note, as highlighted by a reviewer, that Mr. Ma’s Kitchen is primarily a "to-go place" and does not offer dine-in service. This might not be immediately apparent, so local users should be aware that they will be picking up their orders to enjoy elsewhere. Despite this focus on takeout, customers have consistently raved about the quality of the food, with one stating that the food was "AMAZING!" and expressing a definite intention to return for more, emphasizing that it was "very delicious!" Specific dishes like the Dandan noodle and the shredded chicken with chili oil were also mentioned as being particularly enjoyable.
Given that Mr. Ma’s Kitchen operates as a to-go establishment, the environment is likely focused on efficient order preparation and pickup rather than a sit-down dining ambiance. Information about the interior decor or any specific services beyond takeout are not provided in the reviews. The primary focus seems to be on the quality and authenticity of the food itself.
Similarly, the reviews do not contain any information about current promotional offers or special deals at Mr. Ma’s Kitchen. To inquire about any such promotions, catering options, or to get more details about their menu and offerings, it would be best to contact them directly at (408) 352-5519 or their mobile number +1 408-352-5519.
In conclusion, Mr. Ma’s Kitchen in Cupertino is a go-to destination for authentic and delicious braised food and flavorful spicy dishes. Their tender red oil chicken, with its customizable spice level, is a standout item, and their vacuum-packed braised offerings provide a convenient and safe takeout option. With a menu that includes tempting dishes like cold noodles, Liangpi, braised beef shank, and more, there is plenty to explore. While parking might be a minor inconvenience and dine-in is not available, the consistently high praise for the food quality and the friendly service from the owners make Mr. Ma’s Kitchen a highly recommended spot for authentic Chinese takeout in the Cupertino area.

Customer Reviews
Pretty good authentic braised food (卤味). The owners are quite friendly. We got the red oil chicken (口水鸡) takeout and it was really nice. Chicken is so tender (probably most tender chicken without too much grease) and the spicy sauce makes the chicken more tasty (real spicy that you can feel). Note the sauces are on the side (2 spicy sauce cups and 2 non spicy sauces) and you can control the spicy level by yourself. The sauce is so great that even the cucumbers and peanuts inside are tasty. Also got some other braised food and they are vacuum packed and in the refrigerator which makes the food much safer, especially in the summer. See one of the pictures that shows the refrigerator. I haven’t tried them yet, will update later. Update: they are super spicy, much spicier than the red oil chicken. There’s more food I’d like to try in this place, such as Cold noodles and Liangpi(凉皮), braised beef shank(卤牛腱)and braised pork hock, bell shaped dumplings (钟水饺). Both pork hock and bell shaped dumplings are sold out this time. The only complaint I have is about the parking place. Street parking available but limited, there’s a bit parking lot nearby but it was not designed for the store, not sure if I should park there.
Well it is a to-go place. So no dine in. I didn't know that at first. But the food were AMAZING! I will definitely be back for more! Very delicious! Love the Dandan noodle and the shredded chicken with chili oil.
The food is really good. I tried their Dan Dan Noodle and spicy fried tofu. I really liked their Chicken Cold Noodle. If I work around I would eat this for lunch everyday .
Tasty take out boxes. The food is really good and the ingredients taste fresh
Very nice
