About Mr Lu's Chinese Restaurant

Welcome to Mr. Lu's Chinese Restaurant, a local establishment situated at 3430 Robinhood Rd in Winston-Salem, North Carolina (NC 27106), USA. As a Chinese restaurant serving the Winston-Salem community, Mr. Lu's aims to provide a variety of Chinese dishes, primarily through its takeout service. If you're in the mood for familiar Chinese flavors and the convenience of enjoying them at home, Mr. Lu's presents itself as a solid option to consider.

Operating within the platform category of Chinese Restaurants, Mr. Lu's focuses on delivering the diverse and appealing tastes of Chinese cuisine. This category is dedicated to restaurants that specialize in preparing and serving dishes originating from China, often adapting regional styles to suit local palates. Mr. Lu's contributes to this category by offering a menu that includes popular Chinese-American dishes, as indicated by customer reviews mentioning items like Won Ton soup, crab Rangoon, curry chicken, steamed dumplings, and pepper steak.

The provided information does not offer specific details about the environment or ambiance of Mr. Lu's Chinese Restaurant, as the reviews primarily focus on the takeout experience. Typically, Chinese restaurants offering takeout may have a functional and efficient space for order processing and pickup. The emphasis is usually on the kitchen and the preparation of food rather than an elaborate dine-in setting. For those interested in the physical environment, a visit to the location might provide more insight, although the reviews suggest that takeout is the primary mode of service.

The main service highlighted in the customer feedback for Mr. Lu's is takeout. Customers have placed orders for pickup and have commented on the quality and taste of the food received through this service. While delivery is not explicitly mentioned as a regular offering, one reviewer expressed hope that the restaurant does not decline in its "delivery," which might imply that they have used or hope to use a delivery service in the future. To confirm whether Mr. Lu's offers direct delivery or partners with third-party delivery services, it would be best to contact them directly at (336) 659-8868 or +1 336-659-8868.

Several features of Mr. Lu's Chinese Restaurant can be gleaned from the customer reviews. One notable feature is the tastiness of their food, with specific praise for the Won Ton soup, which is described as "amazing and full of won tons." This suggests that certain dishes are prepared with a focus on flavor and generous portions of key ingredients. The curry chicken is also highlighted for its "great flavor" and slight spiciness, indicating a well-seasoned dish that appeals to those who enjoy a bit of heat.

However, the reviews also point out areas where some dishes might have room for improvement. The crab Rangoon is described as "okay" but could benefit from more cream cheese and sweetness, although the accompanying sweet and sour sauce helps. The curry chicken, while flavorful, is noted to be "mostly onion" with a limited amount of chicken. Similarly, the steamed dumplings are considered "good" but lacking in visual appeal ("color and that extra pizzazz"). These comments provide an objective view of the strengths and weaknesses of specific menu items based on customer experiences.

One reviewer appreciated that the steamed dumplings were not "fluffed" with rice noodles, suggesting a preference for a more straightforward preparation. The pepper steak with onion was also ordered but not yet tasted by one reviewer, leaving its quality and characteristics still to be determined from the available feedback.

Overall, the reviews indicate that Mr. Lu's is a "very solid place for Chinese takeout," suggesting a general satisfaction with the food quality and the convenience of the service. However, potential customers should be aware of the noted inconsistencies in some dishes, such as the proportion of ingredients in the curry chicken and the filling of the crab Rangoon.

Regarding promotional information, the provided text does not include any details about current specials, discounts, or promotions offered by Mr. Lu's Chinese Restaurant. Local online platforms or social media pages might also provide information on promotions if the restaurant actively uses them for marketing.

In summary, Mr. Lu's Chinese Restaurant in Winston-Salem, NC, offers a takeout-focused service with a menu that includes a variety of Chinese-American dishes. While some dishes, like the Won Ton soup and the flavor of the curry chicken, receive high praise, others, such as the crab Rangoon and the proportion of ingredients in certain dishes, have received more mixed feedback. The restaurant is generally considered a reliable option for Chinese takeout in the area. To get the most up-to-date information on their menu, services (including potential delivery options), and any ongoing promotions, contacting Mr. Lu's directly is recommended.

Mr. Lu’s food is very tasty. The Won Ton soup is amazing and full of won tons. The crab Rangoon is okay, it needs more cream cheese and a little more sweetness, but the sweet and sour sauce helps with that a bit. The curry chicken is slightly spicy and has great flavor, but it’s mostly onion and very chinchy with the chicken. The steamed dumplings were good, but lacked color and that extra pizzazz. I really liked how they didn’t “fluff” them with rice noodles. I also ordered the pepper steak with onion, but I haven’t tried that yet. Still a very solid place for Chinese takeout.

Ordered takeout from Mr Lu’s (Robinhood) and was surprised what we received. The chicken chow mein had ALOT of onions, which overpowered the celery and cabbage (or lack thereof). The house special fried rice was very bland. The pepper steak was pretty good (just wish it had a little more “steak” in the dish). Usually we have great reviews for Mr Lu but was disappointed this time around. Hope this restaurant does not begin to decline in delivery. Plan to be back and give them another try. My hope is that they do better next time.

My go-to Chinese restaurant. Excellent food at good prices, friendly staff, and tons of options. I love their dumplings (gyoza), and all the meal orders come with very large portion sizes. Quick service as well.

For starters I went to the wrong location (do not recommend the one off MLK ) which was totally my fault . When I finally got to the correct location my food was ready, she told me everything was 32/34$ (don’t remember) she didn’t ring anything up and didn’t give me a receipt , she honestly could’ve charged me for more things and I wouldn’t had known . My chicken was tender and looked like actual chicken , my husbands chicken was questionable. The fried dumplings were really good especially with the dumpling sauce. Would I recommend this place to somebody, no. The food is expensive and nothing special , there are better and cheaper Chinese take out .

Average food. Not bad but average. Disappointing that the fried rice was bare. No green onions, egg bits and or bean sprouts. The Mongolian beef was more like onion casserole with meat versus meat, green onions and rice noodles. I did not taste any hoison sauce. Price was fair. But I won't order again unless I want the Plainest Chinese version as here.
