About Mr. Lu Chinese Restaurant

Mr. Lu Chinese Restaurant is a local Chinese establishment located at 1479 New Walkertown Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27101, USA. They can be contacted at (336) 725-9969 or +1 336-725-9969. Based on the available customer reviews, Mr. Lu Chinese Restaurant has a history within the community, reportedly being family-owned for over 30 years. While primarily focused on takeout service, they do offer tables for customers who prefer to eat on-site.

One recent customer, who had recently moved to the area, shared a positive first impression of Mr. Lu Chinese Restaurant. They found the food to be "amazing" and noted that "everything was cooked to perfection." Additionally, they praised the staff as "super friendly." This reviewer also mentioned the restaurant's long-standing history and the availability of tables for dine-in customers, despite its main focus on takeout. They expressed their intention to bring visiting friends and family to Mr. Lu's in the future, indicating a highly satisfactory experience.

However, other customer reviews present a starkly contrasting view of Mr. Lu Chinese Restaurant. One reviewer simply stated "Disgusting," offering no further explanation. This highly negative comment suggests a significant issue with their experience.

Another review provided more specific details about a negative experience. This customer described the "Fried rice" as having "no veggies" and "Not even onions," resulting in a very "bland" dish. They also found the "Chicken overcooked! Dry," leading them to conclude it was a "Waste of time and money!" This reviewer strongly recommended others to "Try somewhere else." The timestamp "This morning at 10:30" suggests a very recent and unsatisfactory experience.

Adding to the negative feedback, the same reviewer later reported a subsequent issue with a fried rice order. They stated, "I've ordered fried rice it had onions and peas without me ordering! Bad business! I won't go back Next week garbage." This indicates an inconsistency in how the fried rice is prepared and a disregard for specific customer preferences or potential dietary restrictions. The strong language used further emphasizes their dissatisfaction and their decision not to return.

Considering these varied reviews, the experience at Mr. Lu Chinese Restaurant appears to be inconsistent. While one customer had a highly positive initial experience, praising the food, service, and the restaurant's history, others reported significant issues with the food quality, including bland and improperly cooked dishes, as well as errors in order preparation. The stark contrast between these experiences makes it difficult to form a definitive overall opinion based solely on these reviews.

The environment of Mr. Lu Chinese Restaurant is described as primarily geared towards takeout, but with tables available for customers who wish to dine in. The positive review suggests a welcoming atmosphere with friendly staff, but the negative reviews do not comment on the environment. Local users considering dining in might find the ambiance to be secondary to the food and service.

The primary service offered by Mr. Lu Chinese Restaurant is takeout. However, the availability of tables indicates that dine-in is also an option, although perhaps not the main focus. The positive reviewer highlighted the friendly service during their visit. The negative reviews, however, suggest potential issues with the quality of the food prepared for both takeout and presumably dine-in customers. There is no information provided regarding delivery services or online ordering platforms.

Features of Mr. Lu Chinese Restaurant mentioned in the reviews include its long-standing history as a family-owned business, the friendly staff (according to one reviewer), and the availability of both takeout and limited dine-in options. However, the inconsistent food quality, particularly issues with the fried rice and overcooked chicken, as reported by other customers, are significant factors to consider.

Promotional information is not mentioned in the provided reviews. Local users interested in any specials or deals offered by Mr. Lu Chinese Restaurant would need to contact them directly at the provided phone numbers.

In conclusion, Mr. Lu Chinese Restaurant in Winston-Salem, NC, presents a mixed picture based on recent customer feedback. While it has a long history and at least one recent customer praised the "amazing" food and friendly service, other reviews indicate significant concerns about food quality, consistency in dish preparation, and potentially disappointing experiences. Local users considering Mr. Lu Chinese Restaurant for takeout or dine-in should be aware of these contrasting opinions. The positive review suggests that a good experience is possible, while the negative reviews highlight potential risks regarding the quality and consistency of the food. Given the strong negative feedback, it might be prudent for new customers to approach with caution or consider these recent experiences when making their dining decisions. For more information on their menu, services, or any potential promotions, contacting the restaurant directly is recommended.

Recently moved to town and was looking for a Chinese spot and I found this place. Apparently this restaurant has been in the family for over 30 years. The food was amazing and everything was cooked to perfection. The workers were also super friendly. The restaurant is mainly take out but they do offer tables for customers that need a place to eat. Would bring my friends and family here the next time they come to visit.

This place has tasty food and they are quick. I typically order from here through UberEATS and the bags are always sealed and packaged well. The only downside is they use a lot of onions. The pic is from a meal I ordered yesterday. It is sitting on a full-size dinner plate. The pile on the right is what I pulled out of the takeout container and I haven't even gotten it all. It's an entire onion's worth. Honestly, a quarter of that amount would be more than enough.

I called in my order on 11/19/20. I got chicken and broccoli with no rice, extra broccoli, and the sauce on the side. It was ready upon pick up. Ordering on the phone was quick and easy. To me, it tasted plain, so I used some of the sauce it came with. I thought it was soy sauce, but it’s not. It’s brown sauce. Unfortunately, I’m not supposed to have brown sauce because I’m doing keto. Thankfully, I didn’t have too too much. That’s no fault at the restaurant. I should’ve asked before I ate it and no afterwards. The location could be an issue for some. I’ve been here more than once but first time in a while. There is always a seemingly homeless person right outside the entrance. Some are chill who will ask once and that’s it. Some are more persistent. I usually don’t carry cash, so I just tell them that. Overall, speaking from other visits, the food is good. They have barriers up around the register for COVID protections. This visit was a quick in and out.
