While the interior may show some signs of age, the warm and cozy atmosphere remains intact, providing a comfortable setting for diners.

Some recent customer reviews highlight both the strengths and areas for improvement at Mr. Chu. One patron mentioned that while the service and food are consistently good, there is room for updating the restaurant’s exterior and interior to maintain a more polished appearance. This place has been around since the 1980's and is showing a little wear both outside and in. Service and food is good and consistent. Hot dishes are not as spicy as one would expect, so if you like things hot ask for extra heat. This time, I thought the free fried wontons were a little stale, my butter knife was so old it had a hole, the outside road sign is noticably rusty, and some bench seat cushions are cracked hence my lower rating. I love this place and would hate to see it go, but some updates are needed.

3 dishes + soup for $25 is a great deal. The soup was a house soup. The tofu with shredded pork and sauteed string beans were very tasty, but the eggplant with basil was a bit oily. Looking forward to trying other dishes.

Food is decent but service is not up to the mark. Forgot our orders and not friendly. Also like other comments, we asked for extra spicy but still dish was more on the sweet side than spicy. Outside def needs a upgrade too. Would recommend only if there was no other place serving the same type of dishes within a 30 mile radius :)

Knives Out! This place has been closed for quite sometime. So when it reopens you want to check it out. What a pleasant surprise! The food, service and atmosphere was on point all night. Each dish was cooked to perfection, coconut shrimp was to die for but the peeking duck took the gold. Prepared table side and fresh as possible. Well done and looking forward to returning next weekend
