One customer and their wife were initially excited to try the food, noting it "looked great." However, they were "so sad after getting home and opening our to go order and seeing the food portion sizes," describing them as the "skimpiest portion size of food for the price paid I have ever experienced." They felt "ripped off," particularly with the "beef with vegetables" which consisted of only 8-10 small pieces of thinly sliced beef and a few vegetables for $18, and a "veggie fried rice container" that was barely half full with very few vegetables. They found the "lollipop chicken" to be the only item that seemed worth the price. They initially thought they received lunch portions but were dismayed to learn these were the "dinner" portions. They concluded that while "The food tastes great," the portion sizes were "unacceptable" for the prices.

In contrast, another customer who was new to Himalayan cuisine had a positive experience. They found the "vegetable dumplings and the Tofu Masala" to be "delicious" with "the right amount of spice." They also praised the "delightful service," mentioning a server who overheard their friend wishing them happy birthday and brought them complimentary ice cream to share. This customer stated, "I will definitely be back next time I’m in town!"

Based on these reviews, Mount Masala Himalayan Cuisine Indo-Chinese Style Restaurant in Voorhees Township, NJ, offers food that is described as great tasting and delicious, with dishes like vegetable dumplings and Tofu Masala having a good level of spice. The service is also noted to be delightful and attentive. However, there are significant concerns raised about the portion sizes, particularly for takeout, which some customers found extremely skimpy and overpriced, leading to feelings of being ripped off. My wife and I were so excited to try this place, as the food looked great, however we were so sad after getting home and opening our to go order and seeing the food portion sizes. I’m not exaggerating when I say it was the skimpiest portion size of food for the price paid I have ever experienced. In fact, I’m not sure if they would even get away with serving these portions if we dined in. I actually felt ripped off, it was crazy. The portion for the beef with vegetables was literally 8-10 1” x 1” pieces of very thinly sliced beef with like 5-6 pieces of vegetables thrown in, all for $18. It was barely enough to feed my wife and I, both lightweights. The veggie fried rice container was barely 1/2 full and i could count the number of vegetables in there on my fingers. The lollipop chicken was the only item that seemed worth it. Actually we were initially so confused, thinking they must have given us lunch portions. But to our dismay the almost non existent portions were their “dinner” portions. The food tastes great, however they provide unacceptable portion sizes of food for their prices.

I had just flown in to visit my friend and she suggested Mount Masala. Having never tried Himalayan I was excited to give it a shot. It was delicious! We had the vegetable dumplings and the Tofu Masala. Both excellent and the right amount of spice. Service was delightful, our server overheard my friend picking up the check and telling me happy birthday and brought us ice cream share. I will definitely be back next time I’m in town!

If I had to pick a favorite restaurant in south Jersey, Mount Masala is it. The food is amazing, and the people are so nice and warm. Lollipop chicken is unreal--so good. I have never had a bad dish. everything--soups, samosa, momos, noodles, rice. I love the goat masala dry with gravy on the side.

I’m so disappointed. I left a glowing review 7 years ago when this place opened but clearly the chef or management has changed. I ordered veg Hakka noodles and saucy gobi Manchurian. The noodles barely have 5 pieces of vegetables and there were 5 pieces of gobi in a watery soupy mess.

The staff is extremely friendly and patient. It was our first time with such cuisine and we had littles. Everything single item we had on the menu was incredible. Freshness was present in each single dish. The two style momos we had, well they speak for themselves. The beef curry was my personal favorite but the goat was probably one of the best goat dishes I’ve had in a long time. If your looking for something new or something that just hits all the notes your looking for; this place is it.
