About Moon Wok

Moon Wok, located at 23460 Cinema Dr Ste H, Santa Clarita, CA 91355, is a Chinese restaurant that strives to offer a wide range of Asian culinary experiences to the local community. Operating within the **Chinese Restaurant** category, it provides options for both dine-in and takeout. For inquiries or to place an order, you can contact them at (661) 288-1898 or +1 661-288-1898.

The menu at Moon Wok is extensive, featuring a variety of classic Chinese and Asian-inspired dishes. While customer reviews present a stark contrast in experiences, they highlight a selection of popular items. One highly positive reviewer enthusiastically recommends their "Go Tos" which include the **Salt and Pepper Wings, Lemon Chicken, Mongolian Beef, Honey Walnut Shrimp, and Shrimp Fried Rice**, suggesting these dishes are well-executed and delicious for certain patrons. The restaurant also offers staples like **Orange Chicken** and **Chow Mein**. However, another customer had a significantly negative experience with these very dishes, describing the Orange Chicken as "ridiculously sweet" and "bright red not even orange so you know it's artificial," the Mongolian Beef as "way too soggy, lack of any flavor," and the Chow Mein as "super thin, tasted like soy sauce and oil," and appetizers as "super oily." This indicates a considerable inconsistency in food quality and preparation. Despite these discrepancies, Moon Wok aims to cater to a broad audience with options ranging from traditional appetizers like Spring Rolls, Fried Wontons, and Paper Wrapped Chicken to various beef, chicken, and seafood entrees. Their online menus also showcase a range of "Moon Wok Special" dishes like Crispy Beef, Salt & Pepper Pork Chop, and various combo options with different meats and sauces. This extensive selection is designed to provide numerous choices for both familiar and adventurous diners.

The environment of Moon Wok appears to be generally well-received in terms of aesthetics and comfort, despite other concerns. One customer stated, "Restaurant look nice no complaints on that, easy parking. Was seated quickly, comfy booth." This suggests that the physical space is appealing, clean, and provides a comfortable setting for dining in. The availability of easy parking is also a practical advantage for customers. As a "Gourmet Chinese Cuisine Restaurant" with a "contemporary open kitchen," as described in one promotional piece, Moon Wok aims for a more modern and perhaps slightly elevated dining atmosphere compared to traditional takeout-only establishments. This indicates an effort to create a pleasant and inviting ambiance for guests choosing to dine on-site, enhancing the overall experience through comfortable seating and an aesthetically pleasing environment.

The service at Moon Wok receives polarized feedback, highlighting significant inconsistencies in customer experience. One positive review raved about "excellent customer service," stating their experiences "have been great" and cementing them as a "long time customer." This suggests that some patrons receive attentive and satisfying service. However, a contrasting review points to substantial issues: "Waitress was seen when ordering and when she brought the food, thats it. Never came by again." This indicates a lack of attentiveness after the initial order and food delivery, leaving customers without follow-up for refills or other needs. While the food might have "came out super fast," this efficiency does not always translate to comprehensive customer care. The extreme contrast in service experiences suggests that consistency in staff attentiveness and overall service quality is a challenge for this establishment. Good service is paramount in the restaurant industry, and these varied reports indicate that while some customers have a seamless experience, others may feel neglected or experience a significant drop-off in attention after their food arrives.

The features of Moon Wok are characterized by a broad menu, a pleasant physical environment, but also notable inconsistencies in food quality and service. A key feature is the **diversity of its menu**, offering many classic Chinese dishes, as well as some house specialties like Salt and Pepper Wings and Honey Walnut Shrimp, which are praised by some customers. The **clean and comfortable dining environment** with "comfy booths" and "easy parking" is another positive feature, making it appealing for a sit-down meal. However, the most significant and concerning feature, as highlighted by negative reviews, is the **unpredictable food quality**, with descriptions ranging from "nasty" and "ridiculously sweet" to "soggy" and "disgusting." The issue of "cold and nasty" fried rice and "broken" fortune cookies further underscores this inconsistency. Similarly, while some praise "excellent customer service," others encounter a **lack of follow-up and attentiveness** after initial order delivery. The restaurant’s self-description as "Gourmet Chinese Cuisine Restaurant" with "health consciously prepared" food contrasts sharply with the negative feedback regarding artificial colors and oily dishes, suggesting a gap between aspiration and consistent execution. The ability to dine-in, as well as offering takeout and delivery options via platforms like Uber Eats and Grubhub, adds convenience as a feature, but the underlying issues with food and service consistency remain a critical point for potential customers to consider.

Specific promotional information for Moon Wok can often be found through various online platforms. Their online menus on delivery services like Uber Eats and Grubhub frequently list "Moon Wok Special" dishes, which might be a form of ongoing promotion for signature items. Websites like Fantuan and Dylish also show potential offers, such as "$11.5 off $40 rookie coupon," "Free Delivery," "Everything 35% off," "Specials 50% off," and "10% off pickup." These types of discounts are common strategies for attracting new customers and encouraging repeat business, particularly for takeout and delivery orders. Another platform, 25Score, mentions that Moon Wok serves "Gourmet Chinese Cuisine" and has "80 fabulous dishes and more," suggesting a focus on variety and quality as a promotional point. While these promotions can be enticing, potential customers should weigh them against the mixed customer reviews regarding food quality and service consistency. It is advisable to check current offers directly through the restaurant's website or popular food delivery apps, as promotions can change frequently. However, the presence of various discounts indicates that Moon Wok actively uses pricing and convenience to attract and retain its customer base.

Nasty! Ordered orange chicken (ridiculously sweet. It was bright red not even orange so you know it's artificial). Got the Mongolian beef (way too soggy, lack of any flavor). Chow mein (not your traditional chow mein, it was super thin, tasted like soy sauce and oil). Lastly, their appetizers (egg roll, friend shrimp, some chicken wrapped in foil, and wonton). All super oily. Disgusting. I've been to hundreds of Chinese restaurants and this is the worst tasting. We'll 2nd worst, actually. Restaurant look nice no complaints on that, easy parking. Was seated quickly, comfy booth, Food came out super fast. Waitress was seen when ordering and when she brought the food, thats it. Never came by again. Also, I ordered both fried rice and steamed rice. The steamed was good and tasty; the fried was literally cold and nasty! I'm telling you, I've never struck out so bad in a Chinese restaurant. Even the freaking fortune cookies were given to us broken! I mean come on!!! Stay away trust me.

I have dined here several times and I am glad I found them. I am used to eating great tasting Chinese Cuisine and this was for sure that. Not to mention the customer service was excellent, my experiences have been great and they have a long time customer in me. My Go Tos so far are the Salt and Pepper Wings , Lemon Chicken, Mongolian Beef, Honey Walnut Shrimp, Shrimp Fried Rice

The food here at Moon Wok was serviceable, okay, with plenty of options for us vegetarians...but nothing really wowed us in terms of flavor or presentation. We had Tofu in Brown Sauce, which was fine, and Fried Rice which also was fine but didn't have a whole lot of flavor to it. It was our first time trying this place. There are lots of basic Chinese food spots in the Santa Clarita Valley. We've tried and enjoyed more some of the others. This one was just okay and wouldn't be our top choice to head back to or order from.

Traditional Chinese food. Lunch/dinner specials are great value. Good flavors, not quite as good as Chinatown or Alhambra are but better than anything else in Santa Clarita.
