About Moon Palace

Welcome to Moon Palace, a Chinese restaurant located at 234 Allegheny Blvd in Brookville, Pennsylvania. As a local establishment in the Chinese Restaurant category, Moon Palace can be contacted at (814) 849-4492 or +1 814-849-4492. However, recent customer reviews paint a starkly negative picture of this restaurant, citing severe issues with food quality, cleanliness, and customer service. Potential local users should be aware of the serious concerns raised in this feedback.

Environment: One customer's initial impression upon entering Moon Palace was that the "lobby is not very clean." This suggests a lack of attention to hygiene in the public areas of the restaurant, which can be a significant deterrent for potential diners. The reviewer did not provide further details about the cleanliness of the dining area itself, but the negative first impression of the lobby is a notable concern regarding the overall environment of the establishment.

Services: Based on the customer reviews, Moon Palace appears to offer both dine-in and takeout services. One review mentions a "to go container," indicating that takeout is an option. The other detailed review describes a dine-in experience, although a highly negative one. The service received by this dine-in customer was described as extremely poor. The reviewer felt "rushed" from the moment they entered, even before having a chance to look at the menu. Their request to use the restroom was met with an inappropriate question. Throughout their attempt to dine, the staff member, identified as the manager or owner, repeatedly pressured them to order quickly. Even after the meal, the reviewer felt rushed to leave when the check was abruptly presented and the lights in the lobby were turned off. The encounter during payment was also negative, with an alleged attempt to insist on a cash payment despite a working credit card machine. The overall impression of the service was one of rudeness and a lack of customer care, with the reviewer explicitly stating that the place is "not trucker friendly."

Features: The primary feature highlighted in the negative customer reviews is the severely substandard quality of the food. One reviewer described it as the "worse Chinese food I’ve ever had in my life," deeming the chicken fried rice "inedible." A particularly alarming detail was the presence of "totally raw chicken" that leaked juice into the container of another dish, which was described as "flavorless." The fried dumplings were also heavily criticized for their taste and appearance, described as if "they were developed in a science lab" and having "chemical tastes." Even the General Tso's chicken, ordered by a coworker, was deemed subpar, with the coworker unable to eat even a quarter of it. Another dish, the crab and cream cheese Rangoon, was reported to contain "no crab, just cream cheese and chives," indicating a significant misrepresentation of ingredients. The chicken fried rice also incurred an "up charge" for a substitution due to a dietary restriction. These descriptions paint a picture of extremely poor food quality, incorrect preparation, and potentially unsafe food handling practices.

The combination of inedible and raw food, misrepresented ingredients, and chemical tastes suggests a serious lack of quality control and culinary skill at Moon Palace. The fact that multiple dishes were so severely criticized indicates a systemic issue rather than isolated incidents. The high price mentioned by one reviewer despite the terrible food further compounds the negative experience, suggesting a lack of value for money.

Promotional Information: The provided customer reviews do not contain any information about promotions or special offers at Moon Palace. Given the overwhelmingly negative feedback regarding the fundamental aspects of food quality, cleanliness, and service, any potential promotions would likely be overshadowed by these significant issues. Potential customers would likely prioritize the basic standards of a restaurant (edible and safe food, clean environment, and respectful service) over any discounted offers.

In conclusion, the customer reviews for Moon Palace in Brookville present a dire warning to potential local users. The restaurant is described as having an unclean lobby, extremely rude and rushed service, and, most alarmingly, severely inedible and potentially unsafe food, including raw chicken and dishes with chemical tastes and misrepresented ingredients. The prices are also reported to be high despite the poor quality. Based on this feedback, Moon Palace appears to be a restaurant that local users should approach with extreme caution, if at all. The issues raised are fundamental and indicate a significant failure to meet basic standards for a Chinese restaurant. There is no indication of any positive aspects that would outweigh these serious concerns. It is strongly recommended that potential customers consider these reviews carefully before deciding to patronize Moon Palace.

Would give less than a star if possible. Worse Chinese food I’ve ever had in my life. Still expensive too. Inedible chicken fried rice. Totally raw chicken that soaked the raw chicken juice into the flavorless over stuffed to go container. Fried dumplings that tasted and look like they were developed in a science lab. Chemical tastes on the food. Co worker got general tsos. It wasn’t as bad but he didn’t eat even a 1/4 of it. Vile

My first initial impression when I walked in the lobby is not very clean. As I further walked into the diner, I went to grab a menu to look and see what they had. I was immediately meet by the manager or owner, and felt rushed that I needed to hurry an order, I clearly stated I haven’t been here before and I would like to look at the menu and then asked to use the restroom. She then ask why which is really crazy I’m a truck driver an I needed to wash my hands. I was then seated and later I look at the menu. At least I tried to in peace and the woman just kept coming over rushing. What do you want to order? What do you want to order you need to order she says OK fine let me get the crab and cream cheese Rangoon which had no crab just cream cheese and chives. Now I’m ready to order so I got the orange chicken a chicken fried rice as for I don’t eat pork at all an that was a 2.50 up charge I ate my food and I was sitting their just resting again she rushed over with the check an turned the lights out In the lobby so again I felt rushed at this point I’m a little uneasy about this place they have a sign that says credit card machine down an as I was opening my wallet she trying to look an says you pay with cash an I moved away from her an stated that I only have card surprisingly the credit card machine was working as I paid for with the credit card. She was very rude. This place is not trucker friendly and as I left, she stated that I cannot please everybody that she’s not God I will never come here again this place gets one star because there’s no option for zero star.

We live in Fairmount city, on the New Bethlehem line, so it's about a 20-minute ride. The first time we ate there, and the food was excellent! Friendly staff and the combo plates are packed with food. Definitely recommend that you try it!

Yo, Mother Truckers! Came here early this morning, June 22, 2024. Some truck parking overnight is available. The lot sits between the Chinese restaurant and A&M family restaurant. I should have gone to the A&M restaurant! I had lunch here at Moon Palace. Terrible. First off, although they have signs say "come meet our friendly staff," it was anything but. They lady who took my order had a sour face and looked well-worn. No friendliness whatsoever. The food was inedible. Except for the fried egg roll, which I enjoyed. I had the Pork Lomein, and that had a bitter taste to it. I also had the Dumpling Soup, which was terrible as well. The pictures show all I could eat was the egg roll. Park here, guys, but try the A&M Family Restsurant instead of eating here. Im not out to get free food, but the lady charged me full price seeing i left all the food there except the eggroll. Not even a discount. Avoid this place like the plague!
