Montrose Chinese Restaurant

As pictured, I ordered eggplant in garlic sauce with steamed rice, and bbq ribs. The rice didn’t make it to my bag.. I called and met them know that I didn’t get the rice. He told me there was nothing he could do. This is not the first time they have been utterly rude when you enter the restaurant I will not order here again.

This mold and hair in my food was not why I walked out. The ignorant cashier asked me if I was homeless. . First it was not busy at all . Even the homeless have a right to eat wherever they want

I’ve known this restaurant for a long time and I see that there are some bad reviews, but don’t listen to the reviews. The food quality here is very very good. Today I stopped by to get some lunch. I always get my favorite dish here and the food is always great.

Surprisingly delicious! I will preface that had I seen the reviews I might have skipped this place for Whole Foods lunch bar. I sure am glad I didn’t. I had the spicy chicken lunch with wonton soup. All made to order. Also ordered the xiao long bao (soup dumplings) and they were delicious. Much better than I have had at two other highly reviewed Chinese restaurants here in Houston. (I love Din Tai Fung) I’ll be back for the XLB alone. The spicy chicken was delicious, freshly cooked but typical Chinese take out. The wonton soup was simple but tasty. Not bland. I will say that it is an old hole in the wall location so no atmosphere points but if you are looking for quick bite, I recommend it. Will be back soon.

I remember this place was a great little neighborhood Chinese food go -to about a decade ago when we lived in the area. This place has been run into the ground. The food was flat out cold and tasted like it was made a few days ago and reheated. I immediately regretted decision to stop and eat here once I went to wash my hands and the restroom looked a crime scene. Where's Marvin Zindler when you need him? Stay away from this place. You're asking for food poisoning.
