Customer Reviews
A nice little mini market with Asian spices and food. They also have some good Filipino food. Hot ready for order. Not too many Asian stores nearby but this is definitely one of the spots for some variety.
I can't believe I've lived in Oceanside for seven years now and have never known that we had a market that served such delicious homemade and authentic Filipino foods until now. Seriously. We recently had some pancit from a Pinoy-owned food truck at Belching Beaver's Oceanside tap room and I forgot how good it was, and I've been wanting some more ever since. We just got some lumpia from Costco and I needed to find some pancit to serve with it and here I found Mission Asian Market. They had a variety of various foods, hot and ready and we got a few to try: ● Pancit ● Sisig ● Chicken Adobo ● Lechon (with sauce) I ordered a full to-go container of the pancit (so, not the half-rice, half-pancit. I did all pancit as the sides and main) and they gave me a ton of food. This will feed a family of four easily, with leftovers. Note this pancit is loaded with veggies and meat. It's a full meal by itself. Everything tasted so good. The sisig was full of flavor and a tiny bit spicy, but we loved it. The chicken adobo with onions was so good, but the lechon blew us away. We actually waited while they prepared some fresh lechon for us and by itself, it's great - kinda like fried pork belly. But with the sauce it's just over the top! Altogether, the total was $48.17 - which is not outrageous for the amount of food we got. And they gave us more lechon than could fit into the container cup, so instead of a lid they used aluminum foil (thank you!). I really wanted to try the Kare-Kare, but apparently they only make that on the weekends. I also saw some pics of garlic rice, but they didn't have any of that either. From what I understand, they open very early and often sell out of food. They also close early at 5pm (I believe) so you gotta get there early if you want to try any of this tasty food.
Wonderful staff! Filipinos are so friendly and welcoming. Most importantly, I love their hot food selections. In the morning, they have breakfast options, too. Which FYI goes by so fast because it's limited and so delicious love love their garlic rice (sinangag) they have a little store inside that has a good amount of options for imported filipino snacks and foods etc. I prefer going here to bigger stores since it's always so neat and tidy and has everything I'm searching for. Would absolutely recommend especially if you're looking for turo-turo. 🍛🍚 Attached pics are classic chocolate meat (dinuguan) & rice noodles (pancit) & some of their snacks.
Very quaint, grocery store/restaurant. They are very cordial and the food is delicious. I also go there for Japanese yams, the only place I can find them on a regular basis.
This is my second time here. The first time I came by myself but this time I came with a friend who really knows the menu. The food here is fantastic. And there's so many wonderful things on the shelves! But we came especially for the Halo-halo. The employees and the customers have a real rapport. A lot of joking and laughing going on here. A lot of joy.
