About Miss Sichuan
Miss Sichuan, operating within the platform category of Chinese Restaurants, offers a taste of authentic Sichuan cuisine to the local community in Pomona, California, at its location at 1180 N White Ave. Based on the limited but insightful customer reviews available, Miss Sichuan presents a mixed picture of culinary excellence and potential service inconsistencies. For local users seeking genuine Sichuan flavors, this restaurant warrants consideration, keeping in mind the varying aspects of the dining experience highlighted by patrons.
The environment of Miss Sichuan is described by one reviewer as having a "warm and welcoming atmosphere." This suggests that the restaurant aims to create a comfortable and inviting space for its diners. However, the second review does not provide further details about the ambiance, focusing instead on the service aspects. Therefore, based on the current information, potential customers can anticipate a pleasant and hospitable setting, though more comprehensive details about the decor or layout are not available.
In terms of services, Miss Sichuan appears to offer standard dine-in restaurant service. Customers are seated and attended to by waitstaff. One reviewer praised the service as "excellent," highlighting the helpfulness of the staff. In contrast, the second review details a significant issue with the service provided by one particular waiter, described as wearing pink. This customer experienced considerable slowness in placing their order, despite the restaurant not being overly crowded, and had to actively seek the waiter's attention. The reviewer also noted a perceived inefficiency that seemed to affect both customers and the kitchen, suggesting a bottleneck in the order-taking process. Furthermore, this reviewer pointed out an inconsistency in service, where other tables received complimentary peanuts while their table did not, raising concerns about differential treatment of guests.
The features of Miss Sichuan primarily revolve around its authentic Sichuan cuisine. One enthusiastic reviewer specifically praised the Chongqing noodles and the sour and spicy crystal noodles as "absolutely amazing!" They highlighted the "bold, authentic" flavors and the freshness of the ingredients, suggesting a commitment to quality and genuine Sichuan culinary traditions. The reviewer also found the prices to be affordable, adding to the restaurant's appeal as a go-to spot for delicious Chinese food. This positive feedback underscores the potential of Miss Sichuan to deliver a satisfying and flavorful dining experience rooted in authentic Sichuan recipes.
However, the second review, while acknowledging that "the food was okay," focuses more on the negative aspects of the service. The discrepancy in receiving complimentary items like peanuts could be seen as a lack of attention to detail or an inconsistent approach to customer hospitality. The slow and inefficient service reported by this reviewer is a significant concern, as it directly impacts the overall dining experience and can lead to customer dissatisfaction. The reviewer's suggestion to either add another waiter or replace the inefficient one highlights the potential impact of service quality on customer retention and revenue.

In conclusion, Miss Sichuan in Pomona offers the potential for a delightful culinary journey into authentic Sichuan flavors, particularly based on the highly positive review of its Chongqing and sour and spicy crystal noodles. The restaurant is described as having a warm and welcoming atmosphere. However, prospective customers should be aware of a reported instance of slow and inconsistent service from at least one staff member, which significantly detracted from one diner's experience. While the food quality seems to be a strong point for Miss Sichuan, ensuring consistent and attentive service across all staff members will be crucial for maintaining customer satisfaction and encouraging repeat business. Local users seeking genuine Sichuan cuisine in Pomona may find Miss Sichuan to be a worthwhile option, but it is advisable to be mindful of the potential for variability in service quality based on the available feedback.

Customer Reviews
I recently tried the Chongqing noodles and sour and spicy crystal noodles at Miss Sichuan Pomona, and they were absolutely amazing! The flavors were bold, authentic, and packed with freshness, showcasing the high-quality ingredients they use. The restaurant has a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and the service was excellent. With its convenient location and affordable prices, Miss Sichuan is now my go-to spot for delicious Chinese cuisine. Highly recommend giving it a try!
The food was okay, but the service from the waiter in pink was quite slow. The restaurant wasn’t too crowded, yet I still had to get up to call her over to place an order. She wasn’t efficient in taking orders promptly, which left both customers and the kitchen waiting unnecessarily. It seemed like everyone was waiting for her, and the kitchen had idle time as a result. Additionally, I noticed that she treated guests differently—other tables received peanuts, but I did not. This kind of inconsistent service drives customers away and ultimately hurts the business. It almost feels like she’s helping the owner reject returning customers. To improve efficiency and customer experience, you may want to consider either adding another waiter or replacing her with someone more attentive. This could help boost your restaurant’s revenue as well. Thanks!
12/10/25 12:03pm BEWARE of this business! Stay far far away for your own sanity! As I'm writing this review, I'm currently also filing a complaint against the Better Business Bureau. I have never had to deal with a business that demanded tip and refused to give me change back for what I am owed. First off, I was swayed by the positive Yelp reviews, and since this place is nearby my work I figured I would give it a shot. Sadly, as someone who has had xiao long bao in various locations throughout SoCal and Asia, this was by far the worst tasting xiao long baos l've ever had. The frozen ones from Trader Joe's for $5 are even better than what Miss Sichuan serves here. The skin ripped apart, some were also already ripped in the steamer, and the meat inside is chunky and falling apart. Clearly it's been steamed for far too long and not quality food. For $11.99 this is overpriced garbage. There's so many other restaurants like LA Kung Fu Noodle in Claremont and 1st Dumpling in Montclair nearby that serve quality food. I also asked for fresh ginger and a huge red flag was that they didn't have any here. The lady mentioned they just chop up ginger that is already in the sauce. However, not only was the food horrible so was the service. My bill came out to be $13.22 and the lady would not give me my change back after giving her $15. In fact she demanded tip from me. She had initially also pressured me into ordering more food since I didn't meet the $15 credit card minimum but I mentioned I had cash on me so l didn't have to use my credit card. None of this was ever disclosed to me prior to ordering food. Anyway this lady insisted there's no change in the restaurant so I wouldn't be getting any change back and since I HAD to tip her anyway I shouldn't get anything back. Since Miss Sichuan is basically counter service and take-out, I don't even understand how they could be demanding tips and generally tips are not mandatory BUT customary. I had such a headache arguing with her that I just left without getting my change back. I also did NOT pay the suggested gratuity of 18% on the receipt and she tried to go after me as I walked out. I would never return back and highly suggest everyone to avoid Miss Sichuan at all costs. This place is breaking so many California laws that I have to that I have to report them now. They cannot operate treating their customers this way. FYI the menu photos look nothing like the food they actually serve in person. Pretty sure they use stock photos from the internet.
The beef noodles were delicious, and the green bean beverage was a refreshing surprise. Fried dumplings is really outstanding, highly recommended. The waiter was very polite and attentive. Overall, a fantastic dining experience. Definitely coming back!
I visited Miss Sichuan for the first time today, and it was truly an amazing dining experience! The environment in the restaurant is clean and tidy, and the decoration is full of Sichuan-style characteristics. As soon as I walked in, I felt a sense of being at home. The signature beef noodles really live up to their reputation. The soup base is rich and flavorful, the beef is tender and full of flavor, and the noodles are chewy and elastic. Every bite is a delight! Moreover, the bubble milk tea tastes great too. The tea flavor is rich and mellow, the tapioca pearls are chewy, and the sweetness is just right, not too cloying. It's evident that the store owner pays great attention to the ingredients and the cooking techniques. The service is also excellent. The staff members are enthusiastic and polite, and the food is served very quickly. In short, this is a restaurant that is definitely worth recommending. I will definitely come back to try more delicious dishes in the future!
