About Mings dynasty

Welcome to Ming's Dynasty, a Chinese restaurant located at 1200 Concord Ave in Henrico, Virginia. Operating under the platform category of "Chinese Restaurant," Ming's Dynasty primarily serves the local community through takeout services. Based on the available customer reviews, the restaurant elicits a range of opinions, with some acknowledging acceptable taste in certain items while others express concerns regarding food quality, presentation, past hygiene issues, and customer service interactions.

One customer, unfamiliar with Ming's Dynasty, stopped by for a quick order of chicken wings as a low-risk introduction to the menu. Upon entering the establishment, they noted that the place appeared "very aged," which initially made them skeptical. However, seeing other customers enter, they proceeded with their order, which included chicken wings and fries. The fries were served in a typical plastic container, while the chicken wings were surprisingly presented in a "greasy brown paper bag." Despite the unconventional packaging, the customer found the taste of the chicken wings to be "acceptable," which led to a three-star rating for the food overall. They also noted that the fries were good. Despite this somewhat neutral experience, the customer concluded that they "don’t think I’ll go back again," suggesting that other factors, such as the initial impression of the restaurant's appearance or the unusual packaging, may have influenced their decision.

Another reviewer shared a more detailed and concerning history with Ming's Dynasty. They mentioned that their family used to order from the restaurant "quite often" until a disturbing incident occurred: they found "some lady bugs in our food." When they contacted the restaurant to inform them of this issue and requested replacement food, they reported that the staff was "quite hostile." This negative interaction and the hygiene concern led them to cease ordering from Ming's Dynasty for several years.

However, this same reviewer decided to give Ming's Dynasty another chance after a few years, prompted by being in the vicinity while shopping at Food Lion. On this recent occasion, they ordered General Tso Shrimp, pork fried rice, and an egg roll for takeout. While they found the shrimp to be "good," their experience with the other items was less positive. They noted that the pork fried rice contained "very little ingredients" and seemed "very over saturated with soy sauce," indicating a potential imbalance in flavor and composition. The egg roll was found to be "cold" and even had "rack marks," suggesting it had been pre-cooked and left sitting for some time before being packaged. Despite these issues with the food quality, the reviewer did note that the takeout order was prepared quickly, taking only 10 minutes, and that the staff was "very friendly" when they went to pick up their order.

The two available reviews paint a somewhat contradictory picture. One suggests an acceptable but not compelling experience with standard takeout fare, coupled with concerns about the restaurant's aged appearance and unusual packaging. The other reveals a history of a significant hygiene issue and poor customer service in response, followed by a more recent experience with subpar food quality in the fried rice and egg roll, although the pickup service was described as friendly.

Based on this limited information, there are no details provided about the dine-in environment of Ming's Dynasty. The focus of both reviews is on takeout orders. Therefore, an assessment of the restaurant's ambiance or dine-in facilities cannot be made. Similarly, there is no mention of any specific features that might distinguish Ming's Dynasty from other Chinese restaurants, nor is there any promotional information available.

For local users in Henrico, VA, considering Ming's Dynasty, it is crucial to weigh these reported experiences. The positive aspects mentioned include the acceptable taste of some dishes (chicken wings, shrimp) and the friendly service during pickup. However, the negative aspects are more concerning, including the report of finding insects in the food, hostile customer service in response to a complaint, issues with food quality (oversalted rice with few ingredients, cold and seemingly old egg roll), and unusual food presentation (wings in a greasy paper bag). The aged appearance of the restaurant mentioned by one reviewer might also be a factor for some potential customers.

Given these mixed and, at times, concerning reviews, local users might want to exercise caution when considering Ming's Dynasty. If you are looking for a quick takeout order and prioritize friendly service, it might be an option to consider, especially for specific dishes that have received positive feedback. However, the reported issues with food quality and past hygiene concerns should be taken into account. It might be prudent to inquire about the preparation methods and freshness of the food when placing an order. To contact Ming's Dynasty, you can use the phone number (804) 266-1888 or the mobile number +1 804-266-1888 to place an order or ask any questions.

In conclusion, Ming's Dynasty in Henrico, VA, presents a complex picture based on the available customer reviews. While some aspects like the taste of certain items and the friendliness of the pickup service are noted positively, significant concerns have been raised regarding food quality, presentation, past hygiene issues, and customer service interactions in response to complaints. Local users should carefully consider these factors when deciding whether to patronize Ming's Dynasty and may want to seek more recent reviews or inquire directly with the restaurant about their current standards and practices.

Too crunchy and, a brown paper bag? I stopped by this place for a quick order of chicken wings - that’s all I was willing to risk getting because I was unfamiliar with it. Upon entry, the place looked very aged. I was a little bit skeptical initially but then a couple other people came in so I went ahead and placed my order. I got chicken wings, and fries, the fries came in a plastic container like normally a small dish of rice would but my chicken wings came in a greasy brown paper bag. The taste was acceptable, which is why I gave the food three stars. The fries were good. I don’t think I’ll go back again.

We used to get Mings quite often until we found some lady bugs in our food. We called to let them know, but they were quite hostile when we requested some new food. Haven't had in a few years, but today shopping at Food Lion, I thought I'd give them another try. General Tso Shrimp, pork fried rice, and an egg roll. The shrimp was good, but the fried rice had very little ingredients, seemed very over saturated with soy sauce, and the egg roll was cold. It even had rack marks where you could see where it had been sitting for a while before they packaged it. Take out order only took 10 mins. Very friendly when I went to pick up.

Relaxing atmosphere. We have had various lunch and dinner portions for chicken, pork, and noodles. Funny when we see repeat customers many order same thing such as fried rice or egg foo young, lots of good stuff here.
