Welcome to Mings Canton Food, a Chinese restaurant located at 1000 Kamehameha Hwy in Pearl City, HI 96782, USA. For local residents, Mings Canton Food aims to be a reliable destination for those seeking the flavors of Cantonese cuisine. You can reach them at (808) 455-8869 or their mobile number, +1 808-455-8869, to inquire about their menu or place an order for takeout.

According to customer feedback, Mings Canton Food has become a preferred choice for some when they are in the Pearl City area, particularly for those residing on the Westside of Oahu. One reviewer mentions it as their "go to Chinese food place," indicating a level of consistent satisfaction that brings them back. This suggests that Mings Canton Food offers a familiar and enjoyable taste that resonates with local diners.

In terms of service, one customer shared an experience of visiting early to avoid crowds, which generally resulted in quick service. However, on one occasion, their waitress, who seemed to be occupied with opening duties, was not as attentive. This resulted in a delay in receiving their rice after the main dish was served and a subsequent wait for their wonton soup. While this suggests that service might be slower during opening times or when staff are preoccupied, the reviewer's concluding remark that they would "still continue to go" based on the flavor of the food implies that the quality of the cuisine outweighs occasional service hiccups for them.

The environment of Mings Canton Food is described by one reviewer as "clean and comfortable and spacious enough for other customers to move around if need be." This suggests that the restaurant offers a pleasant and accommodating setting for dine-in customers, with sufficient space to avoid feeling cramped. A clean and comfortable atmosphere contributes positively to the overall dining experience.

Another customer review provides a more mixed perspective. They stated that the "food was fine" overall but highlighted a specific issue regarding an extra charge for spare ribs. While the extra $2 charge itself was not the main concern, the customer was given only one set of ribs because it was reportedly the last one available. The reviewer felt that they should have received a larger portion, especially considering they were paying extra for it. They speculated that the server might have been "too lazy to replace the pan" or was attempting to capitalize on the exclusivity of the last portion. The customer's description of the ribs as "like two bones patched to each other" further suggests dissatisfaction with the quantity received for the extra charge.

This review indicates a potential issue with transparency regarding extra charges and consistency in portion sizes, particularly for items that are running low. It also raises a question about the attentiveness and fairness of service in such situations. While the food was generally deemed "fine," this specific experience detracted from the overall satisfaction of this customer.

Considering the available information, Mings Canton Food appears to be a local Chinese restaurant in Pearl City that offers Cantonese cuisine. It is appreciated by some for its consistent flavors, making it a regular dining choice. The restaurant provides a clean, comfortable, and spacious environment for dine-in customers. Service is generally quick, especially during less busy times, although it can be less attentive when staff are occupied with other tasks, such as opening duties.

A potential area for improvement seems to be in ensuring clear communication about extra charges for specific items and maintaining consistent portion sizes, even when an item is running low. The experience shared by one customer regarding the spare ribs suggests a need for better handling of such situations to ensure customer satisfaction and perceived fairness.

Currently, there is no promotional information available in the provided reviews. Local users interested in any special offers or promotions at Mings Canton Food may need to contact the restaurant directly or check for any advertisements in local media or online platforms.

In conclusion, Mings Canton Food in Pearl City offers a familiar taste of Cantonese cuisine in a clean and comfortable setting. It is a go-to place for some local residents who appreciate the flavors offered. While service is generally efficient, there have been instances of inattentiveness, particularly during busy or opening times. Additionally, there is a need for clarity and fairness regarding extra charges and portion sizes for specific menu items. Overall, Mings Canton Food provides a local option for those seeking Cantonese dishes in Pearl City, and potential customers may want to consider the mixed feedback regarding service and specific order experiences.

When in town since we live on the Westside this is our go to Chinese food place. We like to go early to avoid crowds so service is pretty quick. Our waitress who I believe was tending to the opening of the place was preoccupied so had to request for our rice since the main dish was served, waited a bit for our won ton soup. So based on the flavor of the food will still continue to go. The place was clean and comfortable and spacious enough for other customers to move around if need be...

Food was fine, just the lady didn’t tell me it was an extra $2 for spare ribs. That was fine and all but she only gave me one set because it was the only one left, it’s like she was too lazy to replace the pan or she just thought she could take advantage of that $2 exclusiveness making the ribs seem special but i know for a fact the meat I got should’ve been more🤣 ESPECIALLY if I’m paying extra cause it was like two bones patched to eachother.

Went here because they serve roast duck, roast pork , oyster sauce chicken and cake noodles. Ordered the oyster sauce chicken over cake noodles and sie yuk Chinese roast pork. I was not disappointed. Good portions. Good taste. Fast and friendly service. This place has been here since the 20th century. A mainstay of pearl highlands.

At least the food is hot. The Beef Broccoli Chow Mein might as well have been soup with how much was in the take out box. The noodles were flimsy and wet. The beef wasn't fresh, very small, and tasteless. The Egg Flower Soup was just a mess - with peas in it no less. Portion sizes are large and the staff seem kind enough. Overall the quality of the food needs improvement for this small hole in the wall.

The best place to eat in the food court it occupies. Consistently good food. Love the noodle soups. Lunch plates are a great deal. They don’t have brown rice or a vegetable side option like panda, but the entree choices are superior. Ask for chili sauce to spice up your plate. Minute chicken, pot roast pork and sweet sour spareribs are my go-to.
