About Mingkee Deli 西關明記腸粉
Nestled in the heart of Cupertino, California, Mingkee Deli 西關明記腸粉 offers a genuine taste of Cantonese culinary tradition to local diners. As a dedicated Chinese restaurant, Mingkee Deli focuses on providing a range of classic dishes, with a particular emphasis on rice rolls (腸粉), a staple of Cantonese cuisine. Located at 20956 Homestead Rd G, Cupertino, CA 95014, USA, Mingkee Deli is easily accessible and aims to bring the authentic flavors of Guangzhou (formerly known as Canton) to the local community.
For those looking to experience the restaurant firsthand or place an order, Mingkee Deli can be contacted at (408) 564-6996 or via their mobile number, +1 408-564-6996. While specific details about the restaurant's ambiance are not extensively available online, customer reviews offer some insights into the dining experience. One reviewer noted that the place is clean, suggesting a comfortable and hygienic environment for enjoying a meal. The restaurant also utilizes a convenient QR code system for ordering, streamlining the process for customers and potentially reducing wait times.
Mingkee Deli's specialization in rice rolls is highlighted in customer feedback. While one reviewer mentioned that the rice wrappers, though thin, lacked the desired "smooth" texture, they did appreciate the juicy shrimp filling and the crispy Chinese donut (油條) that is often served alongside. The accompanying sauce for the rice rolls was also noted positively. This suggests that Mingkee Deli strives to offer a nuanced take on this classic dish, with attention paid to the quality of ingredients and flavor profiles.
Beyond rice rolls, Mingkee Deli offers a selection of other Cantonese favorites. The Siumai (燒賣), a type of steamed dumpling, was described as good, although one customer felt the portion size (4 pieces for $6) was small. The restaurant also features soups, such as the black chicken and pork soup, which was perceived as healthy but perhaps not a standout dish for reordering. Chicken feet (鳳爪), another popular dim sum item, received a positive review for its taste, although the reason for being cut in half was unclear to the customer. The pan-fried daikon cake with XO sauce (XO醬炒蘿蔔糕) was another dish sampled, with its crispy texture and spicy kick being appreciated by one reviewer.
A standout item mentioned in the reviews is the milk pudding (牛奶布丁), which was a favorite for one customer, indicating a delightful sweet offering to round off a meal. It's worth noting that while one reviewer expressed a desire to return for more rice rolls and milk pudding if in the area, another customer's positive experience with the porridge (粥), specifically the beef porridge, suggests that this is another of Mingkee Deli's strengths. The reviewer who ordered porridge, along with a Chinese donut and turnip cake (likely a variation of daikon cake), reported being "more than satisfied" with their porridge craving, noting the generous portion sizes and reasonable prices. They indicated a willingness to order all three items again.
The fact that the food came out "fairly fast" for a customer who arrived right at opening suggests that Mingkee Deli is efficient in its service, particularly during less busy periods. This could be a significant advantage for those looking for a quick and satisfying meal. The combination of traditional Cantonese dishes, a clean environment, and a modern ordering system positions Mingkee Deli as a potentially appealing option for both those familiar with Cantonese cuisine and newcomers eager to explore its diverse flavors.

Customer reviews highlight the quality of certain ingredients, the convenience of the ordering system, and the satisfying nature of some of their key offerings. While some aspects, like the texture of the rice rolls or the portion size of certain dim sum items, received mixed feedback, the positive comments regarding the porridge, milk pudding, and overall cleanliness suggest a restaurant with the potential to become a local favorite for authentic Cantonese flavors. Local users seeking a taste of Guangzhou in Cupertino are encouraged to explore Mingkee Deli and experience its offerings firsthand.

Customer Reviews
Rice rolls had thin rice wrappers, which were nice but they were not "smooth" in texture so I did not enjoy them as much as I could've. But the shrimp was juicy, and the donut was crispy and the sauce for the rice roll was nice. Siumai was good but a small portion. (4 bite pieces for $6.) We got the black chicken and pork soup as it seemed healthy but did not feel like it was worth ordering again. The chicken feet were yummy but I didn't know why they cut the feet in half. We also got the daikon cake with XO sauce, it is a bit spicy but I like that they pan fried it so it is crispy. My favorite item was the milk pudding. We did not try any porridge. I would not mind coming back here for more rice rolls and milk pudding if we are in the area.
Ordered: Porridge (beef) Chinese donut Turnip Cake More than satisfied my porridge craving and the portions are big and decent for the price. Would order all three again. Place is clean and ordering is convenient through the QR code system. Came here right at opening so the place was mostly empty and food came out fairly fast.
We chose: beef brisket (beef in a 5-spice sauce with greens), lemongrass chicken wings (great fried chicken, 4pcs) Sampan Porridge (mixed meat porridge with peanuts and egg on top), Chinese donut (great with porridge), BBQ pork rice noodle (big noodle with BBQ pork and soy sauce) and chicken and mushroom rice noodle. They brought out water, bowls and utensils. The hot sauce and a couple of other sauces were already on the table for your taste. Everything was tasty, good size servings. This was a nice surprise. Service was nice.
A friend recommended this place for the authentic food from her hometown and it became absolutely one of my favorite! The rice noodle rolls are very different from the ones I usually got from dim-sum place. Here they’re thinner with more layers and more fillings and tasted much better. I like the beef rice noodle roll the best - the beef was very tender, full of flavors. And the congee, very satisfying. The vegetable dish was fresh, cooked just right. All the dishes I tried had great portion for their price. I’d definitely recommend this place. A must try!
New review from coming back the next day: I ordered the sampan porridge ($12) which was way more interesting. It's initially just a big bowl of meh white porridge. You can throw in some green onions and crushed nuts or garlic (idk) which really level up the porridge flavors. The fun part is searching for the white fish, shrimp, squid, etc in the bowl. It's a big bowl with lots of hidden goodies that I wasn't able to finish on my own. It tasted great and it was a little fishing adventure. Original review: I had the beef brisket rice noodle roll for about $10. I never had a rice noodle roll before, it's like one big lump of noodle. The meat was great chewy and completely enveloped in a lot of sauce which was yummy. The dish came with a hot tea which was a nice touch. This is a preliminary four star review because I think this place is a side dish away from being a five star for me. I am definitely coming back to explore more of the menu.
