About Ming Xing BBQ

Ming Xing BBQ is a Chinese restaurant located at 35-14 Farrington St, Flushing, NY 11354, USA, situated within the diverse culinary landscape of Queens. As a Chinese restaurant, Ming Xing BBQ offers a menu that includes barbecue items, skewers, and at least one style of hot pot, catering to those seeking flavorful and potentially spicy dishes.

Customer reviews for Ming Xing BBQ present a mixed perspective on the dining experience. One reviewer expressed immense satisfaction with the food, describing it as "ABSOLUTELY fantastic!" This positive feedback specifically highlighted several dishes, including the potato dry hot pot, pea shoots, and both the lamb and spicy beef skewers, indicating that these items are potential highlights of the menu. This reviewer also appreciated the unique offering of "rice tea" as an alternative to plain water, suggesting a thoughtful touch in their beverage selection.

However, another customer reported a significantly negative experience during their visit. This review detailed an order of lamb and beef tendon, with the latter being described as "terrible," "tough," and "chewy." The dissatisfaction escalated when the issue was brought to the attention of the owner upon paying the bill. According to the reviewer, the owner was unapologetic and even suggested that the dish was consumed incorrectly. This negative interaction was compounded by an uncomfortable encounter regarding tipping. The reviewer stated that after leaving what they considered an inadequate tip due to the poor food quality and service, they were checked on their tip amount and were told that a minimum of 15% was expected. This experience left the customer with a strong negative impression, leading to a vow not to return.

Based on these two reviews, it is challenging to form a definitive picture of the typical environment at Ming Xing BBQ. The positive review does not offer insights into the ambiance, while the negative review focuses primarily on the food and service interaction. The mention of specific dishes like the potato dry hot pot and various skewers suggests that the restaurant might have a casual and lively atmosphere, common in establishments specializing in BBQ and hot pot, but this is speculative without further information.

The services offered at Ming Xing BBQ include dine-in, as indicated by both reviews. The positive review suggests that the service can be attentive and helpful, with recommendations provided and a unique beverage option offered. However, the negative review paints a starkly different picture of the service, citing a lack of apology for a subpar dish and an assertive, almost confrontational approach to tipping. This discrepancy indicates a potential inconsistency in service quality or perhaps a difference in the way individual situations are handled.

A key feature of Ming Xing BBQ appears to be its focus on barbecued and skewered meats, along with at least one style of dry hot pot. The positive reviewer's enthusiasm for the lamb and spicy beef skewers suggests that these are popular and well-executed items. The inclusion of a potato dry hot pot indicates a broader offering beyond just grilled items, potentially catering to different preferences within the realm of flavorful and often spicy Chinese cuisine. The "rice tea" mentioned is also a noteworthy feature, suggesting a unique beverage offering that sets them apart from standard water service.

In conclusion, Ming Xing BBQ in Flushing, NY, offers a menu featuring BBQ dishes, skewers, and hot pot, with some customers praising the fantastic flavors of specific items like the potato dry hot pot and lamb skewers. My husband and I went to eat tonight. We ordered lamb and beef tendon. The beef tendon was terrible. It was tough and chewy. We complained about it when we paid the bill. The owner didn't apologize and said we ate it the wrong way. So I didn't give a good tip. But what was worse was that they checked us how much we tipped before we left and emphasized that we should pay at least 15% tip. Will not be back.

A charcoal BBQ place where waiters speaks both Chinese and Korean. Must try: crispy sweet and sour pork spices 锅包肉 Food: Their traditional crispy sweet and sour pork slices is the most crispy one I have ever tried and the inside is quite tender. For BBQ, feel free to order anything, no demerits found yet. The only pity is that crescent bone skewers are not available every time I visited there. Location: it is on the North side of Northern Blvd. Paid street parking available.

What's the best thing to have during a cold night? Skewers and beer if you ask me! This place has great food and service. We did not have to wait long for our food, be it the meats or the other things we ordered like sides and more sides. Temperature inside was not too hot nor too cold, which means it's just perfect for barbecuing! We got to enjoy our stay and will be back for more for sure! Give them a try if you like cooking your own meat, since that is their main selling point.

You have to make a reservation on Fridays, they are full quick. The skewers were ok, we got it upstairs and was not able to grill ourselves. But the side dishes were delicious. They take cash
