About Ming's Restaurant

Ming's Restaurant is a Chinese Restaurant located at 8390 Kennedy Rd, Unionville, ON L3R 0W4, Canada. They can be contacted at (905) 305-0770 or +1 905-305-0770.

Environment: While specific details about the restaurant's ambiance are not extensively described, it is mentioned that the place offers some nice deals for afternoon tea, suggesting a potentially comfortable setting for such an offering.

Services: Service overall is described as okay, with the people working there being generally nice. However, one reviewer noted that the waitress who took their order seemed a little absent-minded and made errors with the order. On a separate occasion, the restaurant showed excellent customer service by allowing a customer to pay on their next visit when the card machine was broken.

Features: Ming's Restaurant offers a menu that includes Hainanese chicken, seafood rice, and set meals. According to one review, the Hainanese chicken was decent, but the accompanying rice in oil was too soft and bland. The seafood rice dish was also reported as lacking flavor. The restaurant sometimes offers a free dish, such as salty and spicy pork, for cash payments over a certain amount ($40 in one instance), which was considered decent. Set meals are available at a very affordable price and include soup and a drink, making it a good option for a quick meal, especially during lunch breaks or when in a hurry. Payment by debit card is usually accepted, although there was an instance where the machine was temporarily out of order.

Promotional Information: Ming's Restaurant offers affordable prices, particularly for their set meals, making it a budget-friendly option for a quick Chinese meal. They also have "nice deals for afternoon tea," which could be a promotional offering to attract customers during off-peak hours. Additionally, there are instances of special offers like a free dish for cash payments exceeding a certain amount, which could be an ongoing or occasional promotion.

If you are in the Unionville area and looking for an affordable Chinese meal, Ming's Restaurant offers set meals that include soup and a drink, perfect for a quick lunch. They also have afternoon tea deals. However, some recent feedback suggests that the flavor of certain dishes like the Hainanese chicken rice and seafood rice might be underwhelming, and there have been reports of order inaccuracies. It might be worth trying for the value and potential for good service.

Wanted to try this restaurant after someone showed us a social media post about this place. Have to say I wasn't really impressed. The place has some nice deals for afternoon tea where you get some decent value for money, but to be honest I wasn't overly impressed with the food. The hainanese chicken was decent, but the rice in oil served with it wasn't really well made (was a bit too soft) and was a bit bland. The seafood rice dish also wasn't really flavourful either. We did get a free dish of salty and spicy pork because the restaurant was offering it free if you pay cash and spend more than $40. That dish was decent. Service overall was okay. The people working there are pretty nice, but the waitress who took our orders seemed a little absent minded and got our orders wrong.

With a very affordable price, you can enjoy a quick meal! Perfect for when you're in a hurry or for a lunch break. The set meals come with a soup and a drink, and you can pay with a debit card. The day we went, the card machine was broken, and the nice lady just asked us to pay on our next visit. Awesome service!

Was making a trip to try another restaurant in the same plaza, but it was closed without notice on GPS. What a heck! Therefore, we found this restaurant for breakfast. The overall experience was just okay. Their menu covered a general range of Hong Kong style breakfasts, such as staty beef with instant noodles in soup. The beef is cut to stripes, and the satay looks thick. However, the soup base doesn't actually taste satay at all. It was just salty. Other noodles in soup are pretty plain, on the contrary. Scramble eggs are just standard. Tea is good, though. Price is reasonable, and service is standard. There is so much competition for Hong Kong Style Restaurants in the area that I believe in order to survive in the business, the cooking quality has to be improved as well as more dishes with innovative ideas.

Very big portions at a very good price. Food tasted excellent. Cold milk tea and lemon tea portions were also very large. Edit 09/24/22: Reduced my original rating because this restaurant tried to cheat us money without us knowing. Ordered the combo for two for $30 but they tried to charge us $33. We brought this discrepancy up to the cashier and asked why the 時菜班球 was so expensive, and all they said was that they made a mistake in their calculation Edit 06/16/2023: Food still inexpensive for the portion. Great milk tea and lemon tea size cups. But, very few servers. To make matters worse, servers seem to have more time chatting with customers instead of bringing us the bill. Despite this, I will raise my rating to 3/5.

Food is okay: it's what you expect in a hk diner but those fries were amazing. Everything else was eh. I love that it's a traditional hk diner, none of the frilly fancy stuff like expensive Christmas dinners on the menu. It's 3* because it's alright. I recommend it as a goto place where you don't need to dress up but it's not somewhere aesthetic or a place for a date. I got the special combo 特餐 B $12.99. Love the fries! Wish there were more lol EDIT: I loved their French toast 西多士!So much butter and it was very thick! Their mushroom and chicken noodle were also great, although a little smaller portion than I thought. I def recommend this place for a quick bite.
