About Ming's Asian Bistro

Ming's Asian Bistro, located at 901 W Sharon Ave #6, Houghton, MI 49931, USA, is a prominent Chinese restaurant in the Houghton area, offering a delightful culinary experience. It provides a valued dining option for locals and visitors seeking well-prepared Asian cuisine. The restaurant is easily reachable by phone at (906) 482-9888 or via mobile at +1 906-482-9888, facilitating convenient ordering for takeout or inquiries.

As a Chinese restaurant, Ming's Asian Bistro offers a comprehensive range of services and goods, specializing in freshly prepared dishes. While the typical "in house" buffet may not be available at all times (as noted in one review, "No 'In house' buffet at the current time"), the restaurant focuses on à la carte orders, ensuring each dish is cooked to perfection. Their menu extends beyond standard Chinese fare to encompass an "Asian Bistro" concept, suggesting a broader selection of Asian-inspired dishes. Popular items highlighted by customers include their highly-praised Orange Chicken, Crab Rangoons, and a unique house specialty called "Dragon of the Sea." The primary mode of service appears to be takeout, catering to customers who prefer to enjoy their meals at home. However, the mention of a pleasant counter experience also hints at the possibility of a comfortable waiting area for pickup, and potentially limited dine-in options, although the emphasis is clearly on the quality of the prepared food for off-premise consumption.

The environment at Ming's Asian Bistro, based on customer feedback, is characterized by its focus on cleanliness and a pleasant interaction point for customers. Although details about a full dine-in experience are not extensively provided, the comments focus on the positive aspects of the takeout process. The atmosphere at the counter is described as welcoming, with "the nice lady at the counter was pleasant when I picked up." This indicates a friendly and accommodating service environment, which is crucial for customer satisfaction, especially in a takeout-centric model. For a restaurant that prioritizes fresh and delicious food, the preparation environment is implicitly clean and efficient, contributing to the overall positive perception of the establishment. The lack of negative comments regarding the physical space suggests a well-maintained and comfortable setting for quick interactions.

The services at Ming's Asian Bistro are primarily geared towards providing high-quality and convenient takeout. The ability to order via phone at (906) 482-9888 or +1 906-482-9888 is a key service, allowing customers to place their orders efficiently. The reviews emphasize the freshness and deliciousness of the food, indicating a strong commitment to culinary quality. The promptness of service is also implied by the positive takeout experiences, where food is prepared hot and ready for pickup. The "pleasant" demeanor of the staff at the counter contributes significantly to a positive customer service experience, making the process of ordering and picking up food enjoyable and hassle-free. While the current lack of a buffet means the primary service is à la carte, the consistency in food quality for these prepared-to-order dishes is a notable aspect of their service.

The features that truly define Ming's Asian Bistro are its exceptional food quality and specific standout dishes. The **Orange Chicken** receives particularly high praise, described as "the best orange chicken I've ever had," with an "excellent blend of sweet orange and spicy ginger." This highlights a masterful execution of a popular dish. The **Crab Rangoons** are also noted for being "delicious," although one customer felt they were "a bit skimpy on crab," suggesting a minor inconsistency but overall positive flavor. The **Dragon of the Sea**, a house specialty, indicates a unique and signature offering that sets it apart from more generic Chinese restaurants. The general consensus on the food being "fresh and delicious" underscores a commitment to quality ingredients and preparation. The perfectly cooked rice is another detail that points to attention to culinary precision. The pleasant and friendly staff at the counter also constitutes a significant positive feature, enhancing the overall customer experience and contributing to repeat business. The "definitely order from here again" sentiment from both reviewers is a strong indicator of customer satisfaction and loyalty, reflecting the positive features of the food and service.

Regarding promotional information, Ming's Asian Bistro primarily benefits from strong positive word-of-mouth and the high quality of its food. The enthusiastic endorsements for specific dishes like the Orange Chicken ("best orange chicken I've ever had") and the overall "fresh and delicious" food serve as compelling organic promotions. The affordability of the dishes, while not explicitly mentioned in terms of pricing, is implied by the willingness of customers to "definitely order from here again," suggesting good value for money. The positive interactions with the staff, described as "pleasant," also contribute to a welcoming atmosphere that encourages repeat visits. While no specific ongoing promotional deals or loyalty programs are detailed in the provided information, the consistent quality and excellent taste of their food are their most effective promotional tools. The fact that customers are eager to return and recommend the restaurant is a powerful indicator of successful customer acquisition and retention. For those interested in any current specials or to clarify if the buffet service has resumed, contacting the restaurant directly at (906) 482-9888 would be the best approach. The focus on delivering delicious, freshly prepared Asian cuisine appears to be the cornerstone of Ming's Asian Bistro's appeal and promotional strategy.

We did take out today, and it was my first visit here. No “In house” buffet at the current time, but food was fresh and delicious! The nice lady at the counter was pleasant when I picked up. Ordered crab rangoons and the house specialty “Dragon of the Sea” to split. Crab rangoons were a bit skimpy on crab, but again everything was hot and delicious! Would definitely order from here again!

The orange chicken was the best orange chicken I've ever had. Excellent blend of sweet orange and spicy ginger. Rice was perfectly cooked. The crab rangoons and accompanying sauce was delicious. Would definitely come back again.

If you like crab cheese, find another restaurant. Spicy mustard for egg rolls came in plastic pouch. Atmosphere is not terrible but I would look elsewhere for Chinese food in the area.

We ordered Sweet and Sour Pork w/fried rice, Honey Shrimp w/fried rice, and House lo mein. Nothing fresh or homemade about this order. Hardly a fresh vegetable to be seen. The fried rice had a couple peas in it and was yellow. Yellow. Sweet and sour pork had a generous portion of fried pork pieces that were tasty, sauce was as expected but too thin. Zero green pepper, onion, carrot, or pineapple. None. My fault I thought I was ordering honey shrimp with the white sauce. It wasn’t. It was a generous portion of soggy, heavily breaded shrimp in thick, too sweet sauce. It had color and it was sweet. That’s it. It was $18.95. House lo mein had generous amounts of protein, a couple slices of carrot, no other vegetables. The sauce was too salty and the noodles although generous were a bit overcooked. We keep hoping for the best but have been disappointed too often. I ordered online for takeout 12/14/24 approx. 4pm. Online ordering and payment went as expected, order was ready faster than expected, pickup was smooth, staff was neutral and efficient as we have come to expect.

Got the cashew chicken and orange chicken. Nice large servings of each. A bit disproportionate with the dish of rice along with but both were excellent. The cashew chicken was really good even reheated a day or two later. Fried rice was eh but JJs wok has better fried rice.
