About Ming Moon
Ming Moon is a Chinese restaurant located at 1311 W Shelby St in Falmouth, Kentucky (zip code 41040). As a local establishment in the Chinese Restaurant category, Ming Moon offers both dine-in and carry-out options for its customers. They can be contacted at (859) 654-2888 or via mobile at +1 859-654-2888.
Based on the available customer reviews, experiences at Ming Moon appear to be somewhat inconsistent. One customer reported a positive experience when trying new dishes. They mentioned that while their usual order of sweet and sour chicken with rice is good, they particularly enjoyed the hot and sour soup, finding it warming on a cold day. They also praised the black pepper chicken as delicious and indicated a willingness to order the hot and sour soup more frequently in the future. This suggests that Ming Moon has the potential to offer enjoyable and flavorful dishes.
However, another customer shared a more critical perspective based on multiple visits for both dine-in and carry-out. This reviewer noted that Ming Moon is the only Chinese food restaurant within a 25-mile radius, which might explain their repeated attempts to patronize the establishment. Their initial dine-in experience with a group of seven (five adults, one using a walker, and two children) was challenging due to the restaurant's small size, resulting in barely enough room to sit and hindering the server's ability to move and serve the table effectively. While they found the food to be "ok" during this first visit, they decided to try carry-out on subsequent occasions.
The carry-out experiences described by this reviewer were less satisfactory. The sweet and sour chicken was reported to be dry. An order of fried rice with extra vegetables (for which they paid extra) contained only onions, lacking the expected carrots, peas, or other Asian vegetables. The broccoli beef was deemed "not good," while the reviewer's husband enjoyed the chicken lo mein on one occasion. However, a subsequent order of chicken lo mein (specifically requested with no baby corn, but with the expectation of other vegetables based on a previous order) arrived with only noodles and chicken, devoid of any other vegetables. The second entree in that order, bourbon chicken with fried rice (requested with no vegetables in the rice), was described as overcooked, dried out, and surprisingly full of onions and broccoli. The reviewer expressed that their expectation of bourbon chicken is tender chicken with sauce and rice on the side, having never encountered it with vegetables. This series of disappointing carry-out experiences led the reviewer to express extreme disappointment with the "mediocre food" and to state that they would not order again.
Regarding the environment of Ming Moon, one reviewer explicitly mentioned that it is a "small business" with limited seating for dining in. This small size posed a challenge for a group of seven, particularly with a member using a walker, indicating that space might be a constraint for larger parties or those with mobility issues. Beyond the limited seating, the reviews do not provide further details about the ambiance, décor, or cleanliness of the restaurant.
The services offered by Ming Moon include both dine-in and carry-out. The initial positive review suggests that the dine-in service for a smaller group can be adequate. However, the second review highlighted difficulties with service during a larger dine-in experience due to the limited space. For carry-out orders, while convenient for customers in the area, the reported inconsistencies in food preparation and the omission of requested (and sometimes paid for) items raise concerns about the reliability of their carry-out service.
Features of Ming Moon appear to include a menu with standard Chinese-American dishes such as sweet and sour chicken, hot and sour soup, black pepper chicken, chicken lo mein, broccoli beef, and bourbon chicken. They also offer fried rice, with the option to add extra vegetables, although the execution of this option seems to be inconsistent based on one review. The fact that it is the only Chinese restaurant within a 25-mile radius for some customers could also be considered a feature of its location, albeit not a characteristic of the restaurant itself.
Currently, there is no information available in the provided reviews regarding any specific promotional offers or special deals at Ming Moon. The reviews focus primarily on the food quality and the dining/carry-out experience. It is possible that Ming Moon offers daily specials or lunch deals that are not mentioned in these customer accounts. Local users may want to contact the restaurant directly to inquire about any current promotions.
In conclusion, Ming Moon in Falmouth, Kentucky, serves as the sole Chinese restaurant option within a significant distance for some residents. While one customer reported enjoying specific dishes like the hot and sour soup and black pepper chicken, another customer experienced several issues with the quality and accuracy of their carry-out orders, as well as challenges with the limited seating during a dine-in visit. The environment is described as small with limited seating. Services include both dine-in and carry-out, but consistency in food preparation for carry-out appears to be a concern based on the feedback. Features include a standard menu of Chinese-American fare. No promotional information is currently available in the provided reviews. Potential customers may want to consider the mixed feedback regarding food quality and the limitations of the dining space when deciding whether to patronize Ming Moon.

I normally get the sweet and sour chicken and rice and its good but I wanted to try something new today as it was especially cold and got some hot and sour soup with my order! The soup warmed me right up and the black pepper chicken was delicious. Will definitely order the hot and sour soup more from now
Third time trying this place because it is only Chinese food restaurant within 25 miles. We went the first time with family becaue it was listed as a dine I. Restaurant. There were 5 adults and two children 1 adult uses a walker and the restaurant is so small that there was barely enough room for us to sit down server could not move to serve us it was so tight. Food was ok so we decided to try again for carry out. The sweet and sour chicken was dry. Fried rice we asked for extra vegetables paid for them and received rice with only onions. No carrot peas or Asian veggies in rice. Broccoli beef was not Good husband liked the chicken lo mein Today I ordered chicken lo mein. With no Baby corn. I did mention any other veggies but since it came with other veggies previously it was assumed. That it would included veggies today but we recieved only a dish of noodles and chicken. The second entree I asked for was bourbon chicken with fried rice no veggies it was what I bourbon chicken. But was overcooked and dried out and full of onions and broccoli. My expectation of bourbon chicken is tender chicken with sauce and rice on the side. I have never iordered bourbon chicken that had veggies in it. Extremely disappointed with the mediocre food and I will not order again
I have heard good things about this place over the years and finally had the chance to try it out. Ming Moon is a typical takeout Chinese restaurant. There are a few tables inside, but most people order to-go. They have a huge menu which is nice. The food is fresh and quality above average. The issue was with the order. I ordered a sesame chicken dish which describes the sauce as a brown sauce. Usually sesame chicken has a more soy sauce flavor. This chicken was definitely orange sauce with some sesame seeds thrown on top. The food was still really good just disappointed that it wasn't what I ordered. The steamed dumplings were excellent. I will give it another try and pick something different.
The food used to be amazing 🤩 not so much these days. Very disappointed after spending $40 for two people.
Food and service is great! Staff are so nice and friendly.
