About Ming Hing
Welcome to Ming Hing Chinese Restaurant, located at 629 Pittsburgh St, Uniontown, PA 15401, USA. Operating under the platform category of "Chinese Restaurant," Ming Hing offers Chinese cuisine primarily for takeout, serving the local community. They can be contacted at (724) 438-8883 or +1 724-438-8883 for placing orders and inquiries.
Based on the available customer reviews, Ming Hing Chinese Restaurant presents a somewhat inconsistent experience. One long-time customer shared that they had ordered from Ming Hing many times and consistently found the food to be of "ample portions and very good," particularly when the owner was cooking. This suggests a history of quality and satisfactory meals when the owner is in the kitchen.
However, this same reviewer noted a significant decline in their recent order, where another person was cooking. The portion of chicken in their dish was described as "so small" with only "7 chunks of chicken," accompanied by "crusty chunks of breading." The sauce was also different from their previous experiences, being "like liquid not a thick sauce" and lacking spice. Despite numerous positive past experiences, this customer rated their recent order much lower and advised others to request the owner to prepare their food, suggesting a noticeable difference in quality depending on who is cooking. They also indicated their intention to give Ming Hing another chance but would specifically ask for the owner and check their order before leaving.
Another customer review highlighted concerns regarding pricing and service. They found the prices to be "extremely high," citing a small order of General Tso's chicken with white rice costing $14, with an additional $3 charge to change to fried rice. Their order of House Special mei fun was $13, and a small order resulted in a total of $31.81. Furthermore, this customer reported receiving lo mein noodles by accident instead of their order. Upon calling the restaurant, they described the service as "very unhelpful." They were put on hold with a supervisor, only to be hung up on. After multiple calls and long waits, they were initially told their correct order would be delivered, but after a significant delay, they were informed that delivery via DoorDash had failed, and they would have to return to the restaurant for a refund or their correct food. Ultimately, they had to drive back to pick up their order, describing the overall service as "horrible horrible service."
Considering these two detailed reviews, Ming Hing Chinese Restaurant appears to have a reputation for good food and ample portions when the owner is cooking, suggesting that the owner's involvement is a significant positive feature. However, there seems to be a noticeable drop in food quality and portion size when someone else is in the kitchen. Additionally, there are serious concerns regarding the restaurant's pricing, order accuracy, and customer service, as highlighted by the second reviewer's negative experience with a wrong order and unhelpful staff.
The environment of Ming Hing Chinese Restaurant is not explicitly described in the provided reviews, as both focus on takeout experiences. As a local Chinese restaurant offering takeout, it likely has a standard setup for order placement and pickup. The ambiance or dine-in facilities, if any, are not mentioned. The reviews primarily focus on the quality and accuracy of the food and the service provided when issues arise.
The services offered by Ming Hing Chinese Restaurant primarily include takeout. The first review implies that the speed of service for takeout is generally acceptable, as the customer, despite being tired, considered returning to address the issue. The second review, however, details a very negative experience with their service when an order was incorrect, highlighting issues with communication, resolution, and delivery attempts. This suggests that while the basic function of providing takeout might be available, the handling of errors and customer service inquiries may be problematic.
Features of Ming Hing Chinese Restaurant, based on the reviews, include the preparation of food by the owner, which is associated with "ample portions and very good" quality. Their menu includes dishes like General Tso's chicken and House Special mei fun. However, the high pricing, potential for small portions and subpar quality when the owner is not cooking, and the risk of order errors with unhelpful service are significant drawbacks. The discrepancy in food quality based on who is cooking is a unique feature that customers might need to be aware of.
Promotional information is not provided in the given text. Local users interested in any special offers, discounts, or a detailed menu from Ming Hing Chinese Restaurant are advised to contact them directly using the provided phone numbers. Given the concerns about pricing and potential inconsistencies, it might be beneficial to inquire about portion sizes and preparation details when placing an order. It is also worth asking if the owner will be preparing the food, based on the first reviewer's recommendation.
In conclusion, Ming Hing Chinese Restaurant in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, seems to have a history of providing good quality and ample portions when the owner is cooking, as reported by a long-term customer. However, recent experiences indicate potential issues with significantly smaller portions and lower food quality when someone else is preparing the meals. Additionally, there are concerns about high prices, order inaccuracies, and unhelpful customer service. Local users considering ordering from Ming Hing should be aware of these contrasting experiences. It might be prudent to inquire if the owner will be cooking and to check the order for accuracy before leaving. The reported issues with service when problems arise should also be taken into consideration.
As a "Chinese Restaurant" serving the Uniontown area, Ming Hing has the potential to provide a positive dining experience, particularly when the owner is in the kitchen. The mention of consistently good food and ample portions under the owner's cooking suggests a level of expertise and care. However, the significant drop in quality and portion size when another cook is present, coupled with the reported high prices and poor customer service in the event of an error, paints a concerning picture of inconsistency. Local users may find it necessary to manage their expectations and perhaps take specific steps, like requesting the owner's cooking and verifying their order, to mitigate the risks highlighted in the reviews.
For local residents of Uniontown, Pennsylvania, seeking Chinese takeout, Ming Hing presents a dilemma. The positive past experiences of one reviewer suggest that a good meal is possible. However, the recent negative experiences, including poor food quality, small portions, high prices, and terrible service when an order was wrong, are significant red flags. Potential customers might want to proceed with caution, perhaps trying a small order initially and being very careful to check their food before leaving the premises. Inquiring about who is cooking on a given day might also be a strategy based on the provided feedback.
In summary, Ming Hing Chinese Restaurant in Uniontown has received mixed reviews, with a long-term customer noting a significant drop in food quality and portion size when the owner is not cooking, and another customer reporting high prices and extremely poor customer service. Local users should be aware of these issues and may want to take specific precautions when ordering, such as inquiring about the cook and verifying their order before leaving. Direct contact with the restaurant for menu details and current pricing is recommended, keeping in mind the reported service challenges.

Ive ordered here many times and its always the owner cooking. And its always ample portions and very good. Today there was another man in there cooking the portion was so small I counted as I ate and there were 7 chunks of chicken the rest were crusty chunks of breading. (I was too tired to deal with driving back after a 12 hour shift) The sauce had no spice and was like liquid not a thick sauce like it normally is. Being that probably 20 times it was 5 star I gave them 2 today mainly because I wanted to give the heads up if u order request the owner prepare your food. His food is great this was not enough and really not good. I'll def give them another shot but I will ask for the owner and I will open my box before I leave the counter.
Their prices are extremely high a small thing of general taos chicken is $14 with white rice if you want change it to fried rice they charge you three extra dollars I ordered house Special mei fun 13.00 so that’s too small orders Came to $31.81 They gave me lo mein noodles on accident. I didn’t realize it till I got all the way home. I called them, They were very unhelpful. Waited on hold with a supervisor just to get hung up finally they said they would deliver my food to me but I called after a hour they said it was on its way then waited 45 mins called again and was told they tried to doordash it but no one would pick it up and if I wanted a refund I would have to come all the way back up there anyways I finally just drove and picked it up horrible horrible service
I ordered a lunch delivery from a flyer that I received in the mail that includes "under new management". While I have never ordered from this restaurant before, the food was excellent and still hot when I received it. The steamed dumplings were yummy, shrimp with cashew nuts were very good, and the shrimp lo mein had large shrimp (rather than those tasteless small shrimp). Overall, I'm very impressed with the "new management" or whatever changes were made. Finally, I have a wonderful Chinese restaurant in Uniontown. Highly recommend!
We ate here today for the first time and were very pleased with the food and service. The owners are very business like and professional just not overly friendly. Not rude but just business. The food is awesome and the restaurant itself clean enough. It’s not really a sit down establishment even though you can sit and dine in. It’s more designed for carry out. The portions were huge as you can see by the plate of kung pao chicken. The little bit of rice is what I put there. They serve it on the side, so that plate full is all dinner and no rice. They cook this food to order so it’s fresh and hot. Not pre-made rewarmed garbage. My wife’s fried rice was plentiful and tasty. I recommend stopping in and giving them a try. Very delicious.
Friendly service. Good food.
