Ming Garden, located at 6234 Main St in Bailey, North Carolina (zip code 27807), serves as a reliable Chinese restaurant catering to the local community. They can be contacted at (252) 235-3888 or via their mobile number +1 252-235-3888 for placing orders or for any inquiries. As a "Chinese Restaurant," Ming Garden offers a familiar range of Chinese-American dishes, providing both takeout and dine-in options for residents of Bailey and the surrounding areas.

For those in Bailey seeking a dependable spot for Chinese cuisine, Ming Garden appears to be a strong contender, based on the consistently positive customer feedback available. The reviews highlight several key aspects, painting a picture of a restaurant that prioritizes quality, value, and service.

One customer shared a largely positive experience, noting that "The food was great." They specifically mentioned a dish they had been unable to find elsewhere recently, describing it as slightly sweet but "really good." The mixed vegetables were praised for their generous portion size, crispness, and perfect cooking. The egg rolls were enthusiastically labeled as "GREAT!" An unfortunate mix-up occurred with a spring roll containing shrimp instead of being vegetarian, but the customer noted that everything else was hot and good, and they expressed a definite intention to return, indicating that the overall positive aspects outweighed this error.

Another reviewer provided a concise and positive summary, giving Ming Garden a rating of four stars and calling it "A Solid Choice for Chinese in Bailey." This reviewer emphasized that Ming Garden delivers on the expectations one would have for a small-town Chinese restaurant, highlighting generous portions, fair prices, and consistently good food quality.

This same reviewer, who primarily uses the takeout service, consistently reports a "fantastic experience." They specifically mentioned popular dishes like General Tso's chicken, pork fried rice, and lo mein, noting that these are always hot, fresh, and prepared as expected. The service was described as quick and efficient, indicating a smooth process for takeout orders.

Perhaps the most compelling testament to Ming Garden's consistency comes from a long-time customer who has been eating there since the restaurant opened. This reviewer had never previously left a review, not due to any dissatisfaction, but precisely because the service and food quality have been so consistently good that there was never a moment that prompted them to specifically weigh in. This speaks volumes about the reliability and steady standards maintained by Ming Garden over time. They conclude by describing the establishment itself as "Nothing fancy, but it’s clean and efficient." For those craving good Chinese food in Bailey, this reviewer unequivocally recommends Ming Garden, suggesting that a fifth star might be within reach if they maintain their current standards.

Based on these reviews, Ming Garden appears to be a well-regarded local Chinese restaurant that excels in providing consistent quality and value. The positive comments on specific dishes like egg rolls, General Tso's chicken, pork fried rice, and lo mein suggest these are likely popular and well-prepared menu items. The praise for generous portions and fair prices indicates that customers feel they receive good value for their money.

As a Chinese restaurant offering both takeout and dine-in, Ming Garden likely provides a standard menu of Chinese-American cuisine. Based on the customer reviews, this includes:

  • Appetizers: Including egg rolls (highly praised) and spring rolls (though a mix-up occurred in one instance), and likely other common options like dumplings and crab Rangoon.
  • Soups: While not specifically mentioned, standard Chinese restaurant soups such as wonton soup, egg drop soup, and hot and sour soup are likely available.
  • Main Entrees: Featuring a variety of chicken dishes, including the popular General Tso's chicken. Other common options would include sweet and sour chicken, Kung Pao chicken, and various chicken, beef, pork, and seafood dishes prepared with different sauces and vegetables. The mention of a unique, slightly sweet dish suggests they may also offer less common or specialty items.
  • Rice and Noodles: Including pork fried rice (specifically praised) and lo mein, as well as standard white rice and potentially other fried rice and noodle variations.
  • Vegetable Dishes: The mixed vegetables were noted for their generous portion and quality, indicating a focus on well-prepared vegetable options.

The environment of Ming Garden is described as "Nothing fancy, but it’s clean and efficient." This suggests a focus on functionality and cleanliness rather than elaborate decor, which is often typical of well-regarded local eateries that prioritize food quality and service. For those looking for a comfortable and clean space to enjoy their meal in Bailey, Ming Garden appears to meet these basic requirements.

The food was great. They serve a dish I haven't been able to get in a while..was a lil on the sweet side but really good. The mixed vegetables were more than enough for one person...they were crisp and cooked just right. The egg rolls were GREAT! Unfortunately a veggie roll must have gotten in with the spring rolls and we ended up with shrimp in one but everything was hot and good! Definitely will go back!

4 Stars – A Solid Choice for Chinese in Bailey Ming Garden does exactly what you want from a small-town Chinese restaurant. The portions are generous, the prices are fair, and the food is consistently good. I usually get takeout, and every time, it’s been a fantastic experience. The General Tso’s, pork fried rice, lo mein—it’s all there, hot and fresh, just the way you expect. Service is quick, and they keep things moving. I’ve been eating here ever since they opened, and I’ve never left a review. Not because they’re not worthy of one, but because their service is so consistent that I’ve never had to stop and think about whether or not I need to weigh in. And that’s saying something. The place itself? Nothing fancy, but it’s clean and efficient. If you’re in Bailey and craving good Chinese food, this is where you go. Four stars, and if they keep it up, that fifth star isn’t far off.

People are super nice and the food is great! They don't do exchanges on food but that's understandable because they're a small business. I highly recommend the sesame chicken. Delicious!

I just visited here for the first time and I will definitely be back! The food was delicious and their COVID procedures for pickup were so organized it made the experience very easy and secure feeling. I got Sesame Chicken (the breading was perfect, crunchy but not burnt to a crisp like some places), Chicken Lo Mein (also very good and not all oily like other places), and the Crab Rangoons were excellent! Very happy my Facebook friends suggested this place, worth the 20 minute drive!
