Based on recent customer reviews, experiences at Min’s Bistro appear to be somewhat varied, with some dishes receiving high praise while others have been met with disappointment. One reviewer detailed a takeout order that included several items. The Yang Zhou fried rice and Chow Fun were noted as tasty, although the beef ordered as an extra in the Chow Fun was not evident. The sautéed mixed vegetables were described as overcooked, while the spicy garlic soy edamame was considered "really yummy." A significant issue arose with the Mushu pork, as the pancakes, crucial for the dish, were forgotten in the order, leading to considerable disappointment as this was the primary reason for the order. The shrimp pan-fried noodles were also unusual, featuring thick chow mein-sized noodles, which was a first for the reviewer. Upon calling the restaurant, the staff member apologized and offered something extra on the next order, though the reviewer perceived this response as nonchalant.

In contrast, another reviewer shared a more positive experience, prompted by a recommendation for the Mongolian Beef. This visit included an order of xiao long bao as an appetizer and the Mongolian Beef and Honey Walnut Shrimp as lunch specials. The xiao long bao were described as mediocre, possibly having been frozen for too long and dried out, earning a 2 out of 5-star rating and a hesitant recommendation. However, the lunch specials fared significantly better. The Mongolian Beef was lauded as delicious and perfectly cooked, with tasty and tender meat and perfectly sautéed onions and scallions, earning a 5-star rating on its own.

The Honey Walnut Shrimp also received positive feedback, with the reviewer noting the use of large, properly shelled and deveined shrimp – a detail often overlooked by other Chinese restaurants. While the taste of the shrimp was decent, the reviewer felt the mayonnaise was a bit excessive and suggested a different cooking process to create a slightly crunchy coating that would better complement the honey walnuts, ultimately giving the dish a 3.5 stars, rounded up to 4.

Regarding the environment and service, the second reviewer described Min’s Bistro as having a "minimalist chic" atmosphere, appearing clean and well-maintained. The service provided by their server, Eddie, was considered good, efficiently managing four tables of customers. While not exceptionally fast, the service was neither slow nor inattentive, aligning with the expectations for a $50 lunch for two. The overall impression of the service and atmosphere was positive, contributing to a willingness to return.

Based on these reviews, Min’s Bistro Chinese Cuisine appears to have the potential to deliver well-received dishes, particularly the Mongolian Beef. However, there are also instances of inconsistencies in food preparation and order accuracy, as highlighted by the issues with the Mushu pork and the mixed feedback on other dishes like the xiao long bao and sautéed vegetables. The service and atmosphere seem to be generally satisfactory, providing a clean and comfortable dining environment.

In conclusion, Min’s Bistro Chinese Cuisine in Yorba Linda offers a varied dining experience, with standout dishes like the Mongolian Beef receiving high praise. However, potential customers should be aware of reports of inconsistencies in other dishes and potential issues with order accuracy. The minimalist chic environment and generally good service provide a pleasant setting for dining. Yang Zhou fried rice, Chow Fun (paid extra for beef but not evident, at least it was tasty), sautéed mixed veggies (overcooked). spicy garlic soy edamame (was really yummy), Mushu pork w/ pancake (they forgot to send the pancake, this dish was our sole purpose of ordering today, very disappointing), shrimp pan fried noodles (noodles were thick chow mein size, first time seeing this), and I did call the restaurant right away, he apologized, said he would give something extra next time very nonchalantly.

My wife's boss recommended Min's Bistro highly, especially touting Mongolian Beef as a must item. Since we were nearby after a medical appointment and were hungry. So we thought: "Why not!" Food: we ordered the Mongolian Beef, Honey Walnut Shrimp lunch specials and xiao long bao as an appetizer. We got the xiao long bao first. The taste wasn't terrible. It didn't taste that good either. They smack of having sat in the freezer a bit too long and had dried out a bit. So meh it was. 2 out of 5 stars. Would not recommend ordering unless your hankering for XLB is overwhelming. After the disappointing XLB, Min's Bistro redeemed itself with the actual lunch specials. Each dish was served with a bowl of rice and a hot an sour soup. The Mongolian Beef was delicious. It was perfectly cooked where the meat was tasty and tender. The onion and scallions were perfectly sautéed nearly to the point of caramelization. By itself, this is a 5-star item. The Honey Walnut Shrimp were made with a large shrimp. They were shelled and deveined properly. You'd be surprise how many Chinese restaurants don't deveined their shrimps properly. But Min's Bistro did an excellent job with it. The taste of the shrimp itself was decent. The mayo was a bit overly much. I'd recommend the kitchen to either cut back on the mayo or do a 2-step stir-frying plus deep-frying process to lend the shrimps with slightly crunchy mayo shells. That would've better complemented the honey walnuts. 3.5 stars rounded up to 4. Service & atmosphere: the restaurant is minimalist chic. It looks clean and well maintained. Eddie, our server, did a good job of covering the 4 tables of customer. The service wasn't super quick. But it wasn't slow or inattentive either. Anyhow, it's consistent with other 50-dollar lunch for 2 places. Conclusion: I would come back to Min's Bistro if I am ever looking for lunch at Yorba Linda again.

This was a postmate’s delivery that was delivered on time. Much to my surprise, the entire lunch order consisting of egg roll, aromatic chicken and brown rice was both cold and overcooked. I am very disappointed with my experience and in all likelihood will not order from Min’s again.

Get the dry hot pot with beef and shrimp, thank me later, it’s delicious, but a little spicy so fair warning. Unique dish you can’t get without driving to 626 or Irvine
