Customer reviews offer a glimpse into the various aspects of dining at Min Du Sheng Yan 闽都盛宴. One reviewer who visited during Chinese New Year described the food as "alright not too shabby," suggesting a decent quality but perhaps lacking a standout element on that particular occasion. This reviewer did, however, praise the aesthetic of the restaurant, noting its "pretty nice" all-black decor with a reflective glass roof. On the other hand, this same reviewer reported significant issues with the service, despite the servers being nice. The restaurant apparently ran out of multiple menu items, leading to disappointment and inconvenience, especially for a large group whose food was spread out. This experience left the reviewer with a negative impression regarding preparedness and a likelihood of not returning.

In contrast, another reviewer strongly recommended Min Du Sheng Yan 闽都盛宴 to those who are familiar with Fuzhou cuisine ("If you are Fuzhouness, you gotta go here"). This suggests that the restaurant excels in providing authentic flavors that resonate with individuals from the Fuzhou region. This reviewer also pointed out that it is a "luxury Fuzhou cuisine restaurant," indicating a higher price point and a more upscale dining experience.

Further insights into the menu are provided by a customer who mentioned enjoying some "classic dishes," specifically lychee pork, Buddha jump over wall soup, and crab and rice roast. This confirms its positioning as a luxury dining establishment, likely reflecting the quality of ingredients, the complexity of the dishes, and the overall dining experience offered.

Regarding services, one reviewer mentioned making a reservation for Christmas night, indicating that reservations are accepted and recommended, especially during peak times or for special occasions, as the restaurant can get "relatively busy." This suggests that Min Du Sheng Yan 闽都盛宴 is a popular choice for celebratory meals.

I went during Chinese New Year, food was alright not too shabby, there wasn’t really anything special about it. The aesthetic was pretty nice, all black with glass roof that’s reflective. The service was pretty bad although the servers were nice, they kept saying they ran out of certain items which caused us to miss out on a lot of the things we wanted to eat, furthermore when they switched to an alternative that also ran out. They were not at all prepared and I probably won’t go there again. Not only that but since we were a large group, it was really inconvenient for us to eat the food since it was all spread out.

If you are Fuzhouness, you gotta go here. Save up some money first though, because this is a luxury Fuzhou cuisine restaurant. We had some classic dishes: lychee pork, Buddha jump over wall soup, crab and rice roast. It was around $130 per person, which is definitely a bit expensive but worth it for a special occasion meal. We made a reservation since it was for Christmas night. They were relatively busy so it was recommended though not necessary.

When I heard flushing opening an upscale restaurant for Fuzhou cuisine, I couldn’t wait to try it out. The service was great. I enjoyed chatting with the staff in hometown dialect. The Chinese razor clam (活蛏)was frozen not live and rather dry after they cooked it. Crab with fried sweet rice (红蟳糯米饭), the crab was fresh but somehow it wasn’t as tasty as I expected. This special fish imported from china called 黄梅丁 in Chinese ($108 per pound) has very unique look and taste, my friends enjoyed it very much. What we enjoyed most was Spicy Crispy Double Delight (爆炒双脆 )which is pan fried pig kidney with jelly fish, an indeed Fuzhou delicacy! They added fried dough (油条) to the dish which is different from the traditional way. We also love the free appetizer fried peanuts and soy sauce seasoned white radish (酱萝卜片)。Crispy Duck With Taro (香酥鸭)has small piece skinless duck meat wrapped inside taro. It’s crispy but mainly taro flavor. The meal for three people including tips was over $300. However we still feel it’s great place for parties. One thing I want to point out that the tipping calculation they show on the receipt is NOT accurate. It uses the total amount to calculate the tips which means you’re paying tips to the tax as well. I hope they can correct it on their system.
