About MiMi Garden TX
MiMi Garden TX, located at 8021 Research Forest Dr suite a in The Woodlands, TX, aims to provide an authentic traditional Chinese dining experience. According to customer reviews, it may be one of the few restaurants in the area offering this style of cuisine. The food is generally well-received, with particular praise for the pan-fried dumplings and hand-pulled noodles, which are described as excellent. Many express eagerness to return and try other dishes on the menu.
The restaurant's decor has been updated and is now described as brighter. A small glass pane offers a glimpse into some of the food preparation processes. When ordering, it's important to note that certain dishes, such as the Mongolian beef and hot and sour soup, do not automatically come with rice, which must be ordered separately. Additionally, crispy noodles are not served with the hot and sour soup and cannot be ordered as a side.
While the hot and sour soup is considered good, some found it to be overly sour, with one customer adding chili oil to balance the flavor. The Mongolian beef is also well-regarded, featuring tender beef with scallions, onions, and bell peppers, the latter adding a touch of freshness. Overall, MiMi Garden TX is considered a good restaurant and worth a visit for those seeking authentic Chinese flavors. However, one reviewer suggests that due to the separate charges for items like rice, it might become pricey, making it potentially less suitable for dining with children. Customer Reviews
It's hard to find an authentic traditional Chinese restaurant in the woodlands area, but I think I've finally found it! The food is amazing!! Their Pan fried dumplings and hand pulled noodles are all excellent! I can't wait to go back and try the other dishes.
The restaurant decor is much brighter now. They have a small glass pane to see some of the prep work. I ordered the hot and sour soup and Mongolian beef. No rice comes with it. You must order it separately. There are also no crispy noodles for the hot and sour soup. You can't even order them. The hot and sour soup was good except for it was a little too much sour. I added chili oil to balance it out. The Mongolian beef was very good with tender beef, scallions, onions, and bell peppers. The bell peppers added another level of freshness. The restaurant is good, and I would go back, but I would not take kids with me as everything is a separate charge, and it would get pricey.
I have eaten here 3 times since it opened and everyone who's tried it with me has loved it just as much as I did. The interior design is cozy and modern with lots of woods and plants. The windows allow for natural light and views into nature from inside the restaurant. The staff is friendly and welcoming and highly attentive. I really love the food here. Everything I've ever ordered thus far had amazing texture as well as flavor. My faves: crab roe xiao long bao, glutinous rice dumplings wrapped in lotus leaf, crispy beef rolls, cuttle fish dumplings, shrimp & pork wonton in chili sauce, & mongolian beef. Please beware that the menu fluctates depending on what's available I'm guessing what ingredients they have on hand. I enjoyed watching them make the dumplings fresh through the glass. The restrooms are clean and the restaurant is cozy. I can't wait to come back again. I think about this restaurant often and always recommend it to people. I hope they stay for years to come!
We visited during the opening and ordered a variety of dishes, including shrimp tempura, beef noodle soup, beef rolls, several types of xiaolong soup dumplings, and fried dumplings. Everything was served hot, fresh, and quickly—and it all tasted amazing! The staff was incredibly attentive, making the experience even better. 10/10, we’ll definitely be back!
Was really excited about this place. Low key was disappointed in the food. Bao buns and soup dumpling were disappointing. The dumplings flavor non existent and they were all over steamed. Baby back ribs looked good in the pics - but was just unsatisfied with flavor and look. probably won’t come back. Service was amazing! Super nice waitress!
