About Mike's Noodle House

Welcome to Mike's Noodle House, a Chinese restaurant located at 418 Maynard Ave S, Seattle, WA 98104, USA. As a Chinese restaurant in Seattle, Mike's Noodle House is highly regarded for its exceptionally tasty noodles and congee.

Customers rave about the quality of the food, particularly the "Kaange" (likely a phonetic spelling of a noodle dish), with one reviewer stating it's surprisingly good even for someone who doesn't typically enjoy it. The dry noodles are a highlight, allowing diners to customize the amount of broth they add. Both the noodles and the congee are mentioned as favorites, with tender and well-seasoned meats. While the shrimp wontons are considered good, they might not be a standout for everyone.

The pricing is described as fair, with entrees around $12-15. The congee portions are notably large, often too much for one person to finish. Despite a busy Uber Eats presence, the restaurant usually has available seating for dine-in customers. Mike's Noodle House offers free unlimited hot tea, but does not appear to serve beer or wine. The atmosphere is described as not fancy but perfect for enjoying delicious food.

A unique aspect of their congee is that it is prepared in a Hong Kong style, featuring special ingredients such as pork kidney and liver, which may not be common in American dishes. One review notes that the Chinese donut was not as crispy as expected. It is important to be aware that Mike's Noodle House operates on a cash-only basis; they do not accept paper money alternatives. Additionally, their chili sauce is highly praised for its spicy, crunchy, salty, and umami flavors, often requiring a refill. If you're looking for a no-frills spot in Seattle with fantastic noodles and congee, remember to bring cash and enjoy the complimentary hot tea at Mike's Noodle House.

So frickin' good!! Normally I'm not big into Kaange but Mike's is so good!! The dry noodles are delicious and you can get a side of broth and wet them as much as you'd like. The noodles and Congee are my favorite. Every meat is delicious (tender well seasoned) but I'm not that into the shrimp wontons, they are good just not my jam. Pricing is fair it's like $12-15ish bucks per entree but the Congee is a decent size portion. I've never been able to finish one by myself and I'm 200 lbs (big boy). After ordering from Uber eats I expected it to be crazy busy but there were seats available when we went. I don't think they serve beer or wine but they do serve free unlimited hot tea. It's definitely not fancy (besides the food) but it's the perfect atmosphere for diving into some delicious noods! Oh and the Chile sauce is spicy, crunchy, salty umami it ticks all the boxes.. we had to get a refill during our visit

The congee is fine with special ingredients which are not quite common in American dishes; pork kidney and liver. It's Hong Kong style of congee. The Chinese donut is not as crispy as it should be. Only cash, the paper money, is accepted. Be prepared to bring it along to enjoy the food there.

I had it take out. Not the best. I have had better. The broth is super fishy. There were only 3 pieces of meat in my dish. The rest was fat, and what I am assuming is mostly grissle or tendon. And I don't mind tendon and grissle, but the title of the dish states brisket and I would like a few more pieces of actual meat brisket in my meal if I'm going to drop 20 bucks on it.

Zero star review. HEALTH Department Alert. As this pains me to write, I feel obligated to all the potential customers. Where do I begin? Lousy service from the moment we walked in. They don't smile or greet anyone. I asked our server over because of the piece of white hair in my rice porridge. She reluctantly walked over and responded, " You need something?" I responded, "Yes. There is a piece of white hair in my porridge." She looked closer and took it back to the kitchen area. NO apologies whatsoever. Unbelievable. I understand the Cash Only policy so they can report less income and cheat the government. Our check for our meal just had one final price with it and no breakdown of the individual pricing on each item. I had to ask for a breakdown, and she looked surprised. I am all for supporting local business, but I can't believe the rudeness and uncouth of these people. You have been warned.

I ordered the rock cod congee… it was so delicious until i heated it up again that night and found what i believe are parasites. The first picture with the chopstick in it was when i first discovered one parasite. I left the first one out and it dried out. I looked it up and apparently that’s under the realm of how it would act. I came back and saw another strand of parasite floating in my congee. I am so so so disappointed. Should have paid attention to the 7 reports of health violations here. I’m so sad about this.
