For the lunch price, it’s a great place to grab a quick bite. Dont expect the food to be anything amazing. There are some seafood options but there could be more honestly. The crab stuffed mushrooms were good. Some items are not specified.

We have always had a great experience here. Been dining here for many years. Last night we booked a rear room for a family gathering and they absolutely shined. Great food, service and laughs. Our waitress was the best. Great job to all involved. Highly recommended

Occurred today 12/16/2024 approximately 12pm MAKE SURE YOU ARE CHARGED CORRECTLY. The owner is a thief. Buyer beware. My family and I were enjoying lunch at the Mid Hudson Buffet in Kingston NY. We are regulars there. We always eat at the buffet and take away food charged by the pound to go. Upon paying, the owner (he said he’s been the owner for more than 20 years) decided to charge us $2 per piece of sushi instead of by the pound that is clearly on the price list. I have video evidence there are no signs at the sushi bar, at the register, neither in front or inside of the store stating so. I’m sure he has now rushed to place a sign to save his behind. I only realized this sudden price bump after I paid. I separately asked the waitresses the price of sushi to go and they all said it was $5.99 a pound, the same as all the food in the restaurant. The owner decided to only charge me and my family $2 per sushi piece. I told him no other customer, waitress or person in that restaurant knew of that price. He said “I change the rules everyday” this is absolutely disgusting! I can’t imagine how many people have gone to this restaurant and have been overcharged without knowing. Many elderly people go to this restaurant. He cannot change the prices on a whim based on when he feels like it. This is very dirty business practice and I refuse to stand by it. Response to owner: Absolutely incorrect. We were there at lunchtime. I have the receipt. It was not morning. There were no signs indicating extra charge anywhere in the restaurant. I witnessed other customers also purchasing sushi to go and they were not charged extra. This was reserved only for my party. I wonder…why…? I will leave that to each and her own. The owner just posted “how did she expect us to serve eel in the morning?” I hope you reading are all paying attention this absurd answer of his below. It was LUNCHTIME. And you were also serving: Shrimp, fried Calamari, beef, all types of sushi, just to name a few dishes. We sat and literally ate eel and salmon sushi during that lunchtime visit. Why are you lying when you say you did not have eel sushi prepared. LIAR. As I told you directly on that day, I wish you the best in your business but what you did was wrong. I have no issue paying extra IF everyone is charged. We asked the owner when this supposed price change took place, his response was: “I decided just now. Rules change everyday here.” How selective. The customer has the right to know before dining or any new supposed price changes. It’s funny how not even ONE waitress was aware when I asked them. You lost us as loyal customers. I know you don’t care but this review is a warning to others. It is a shame you could not have apologized and just made it right.

Very disappointed. Most of the food was cold. It was either overcooked or undercooked. The lo mein. I don't know what that was, The noodles were overcooked and cut into small pieces. The mushrooms were completely cold. Beef and broccoli was overcooked and cold, The broccoli was mush. Cajun chicken had no flavor at all. We were completely disappointed. We went up to the bar twice trying to find something worth eating but each time we had to leave the "stuff" on our plates. We always eat what we put on our plates but this we could not do. This place used to be an awesome place to eat. I don't know what happened to it but don't think we'll be back.

A long time hidden gem in Kingston! Growing up in NY, Chinese buffet's become staples for many of us! This is the best one around, hands down! My husband and his family have been coming here since he was a kid, now we bring our kids. The food is always consistent, hot, fresh and delicious! The food here is better than a lot of dishes at local Chinese restaurants. They have tons of different options of food choices for even the picky eaters. They have the same familiar faces, what looks like the same ladies who are always bringing out the fresh food (who I like to imagine are the moms in the back cooking up all these home cooked foods! Yum!), and waitresses who are always so nice nice to us and give our little ones candy. They give you the option as well to get your food and weigh per lb to go. My family especially loves this option for nights we want to stay in! I'll go there and get a few containers of everyone's favorites to bring home for dinner! This place is seriously a family favorite and we are so thankful they have been here as long as they have, consistently putting out delicious food. See you soon!
