About Mei Jia Restaurant

Welcome to Mei Jia Restaurant, a local establishment in the Chinese Restaurant category situated at 920 Morgans Corner Rd in Pooler, Georgia (GA 31322), USA. If you're a resident of Pooler or the surrounding areas seeking a place to fulfill your appetite for Chinese cuisine, Mei Jia Restaurant presents itself as a potentially satisfying option. Based on recent customer feedback, the restaurant offers certain highlights while also presenting areas for consideration for potential patrons.

One customer review stands out for its particularly positive experience with the sesame chicken. This reviewer, who identifies with a history of providing numerous reviews, states that the sesame chicken ordered from Mei Jia Restaurant is "by far the best sesame chicken I've eaten in the area." This strong commendation suggests that this particular dish might be a specialty or a consistently well-prepared item on their menu. For those who enjoy sesame chicken, Mei Jia Restaurant could be a compelling choice.

The same reviewer also noted that the fried rice served with their order was "without seasoning," leading them to mix it with the flavorful sesame chicken. This indicates that the preparation of the fried rice might be simpler or more neutral, allowing customers to customize the flavor by combining it with other dishes. It's worth noting that this customer also reported the absence of condiments with their order, which is a point of feedback for the restaurant to consider for improving their takeout service.

Another customer provided a more general assessment of the food, stating that "while the food is not the best it is satisfying enough to fulfill your taste for Chinese." This suggests that Mei Jia Restaurant meets a basic level of expectation for Chinese cuisine in the area. However, this reviewer also found the food to "lack flavor" and be "quite bland," emphasizing the need for soy sauce and duck sauce to enhance the taste. This perspective highlights that the flavor profile of some dishes might be milder and could benefit from additional seasoning according to individual preferences.

This second reviewer ordered a variety of items, including shrimp with garlic sauce, shrimp fried rice, shrimp lo mein, and a shrimp egg roll. Their feedback on this broader selection indicates a consistent level of "decent" quality across different categories of Chinese-American cuisine. The portions were described as "suitable for what you pay," suggesting a fair value proposition in terms of quantity for the price. This is an important factor for budget-conscious diners.

A notable positive aspect mentioned in the second review is the cleanliness of the restaurant, with the reviewer stating that "the restaurant appears to be pretty clean." This is a significant factor for many diners, as a clean environment contributes to a more pleasant and reassuring dining experience, whether one is dining in or picking up a takeout order. This suggests that Mei Jia Restaurant maintains a certain standard of hygiene in its premises.

Overall, the second reviewer concluded that "everything was decent" and would recommend Mei Jia Restaurant to someone "looking for Chinese in the area." This provides a balanced perspective, acknowledging that while the food might not be exceptional in terms of flavor for everyone, it is a satisfactory option, especially when considering the portion sizes and the cleanliness of the establishment.

Based on these reviews, Mei Jia Restaurant offers a mixed but generally acceptable experience for those seeking Chinese food in Pooler, GA. The sesame chicken appears to be a standout dish, highly recommended by at least one customer. I also go under MajrPayneNurAss and I've have done a lot of reviews. That being said I ordered sesame chicken and fried rice. This is by far the best sesame chicken I've eaten in the area. The rice is without seasoning so I mixed the two together. Condiments didn't come with the food. I'm wondering if they taste the food before ordering it. So what have we learned here today? Season your food and make sure cutlery and condiments are in the bag.

While the food is not the best it is satisfying enough to fulfill your taste for Chinese. In my opinion the food lacks flavor, it’s quite bland. Soy & duck sauce is a must. I ordered shrimp with garlic sauce/shrimp fried rice, shrimp lo mein & a shrimp egg roll. I’d say the portions are suitable for what you pay. Also, the restaurant appears to be pretty clean. Overall, everything was decent & I’d recommend this establishment to someone looking for Chinese in the area.

Awful. We chose this place based on the rating and reviews which honestly has me questioning what the heck y'all think is good Chinese food. I ordered the orange chicken and requested to substitute for beef instead. I was told that couldn't happen even though they have fired beef with other dishes. So I swapped for the shrimp and broccoli. The sauce was so watered down it didn't stick to food at all, pooled on the plate, beyond bland, the shrimp were tiny and worst of all they were slimy. My husband got the general tso chicken that was so salty he threw it out. By far the worst Chinese food we've ever had. Needless to say, we won't be returning.
