Meet Xi An

"Meet Xi An" newly opened up a month ago, although it's quick serve, the food is quite home made and very very authentiic and meticulously prepared! Though Both Chengdu and Xi An are in the Sichuan provence, Chengdu is very red pepper and hot oil forward, Xi An is not spicy (even the spicy option is not spicy), and the spices are more fragrant and delicate. The ingredients were very high quality and expertly prepared and they even have Rou Jia Mo (Chinese hamburger). The Dan Dan noodles were quite different from what I've had before, very garlic and spice forward, with intricate pastes and spice mashes, not alot of sauce, more of a dry style. All in all, this was very cute. Service is so so but they are super friendly and appreciative. I'll be back.

Checked out the newly opened (well, it’s been a little while) Meet Xi An near my place today. 1. Roujiamo (Chinese burger) – Recommended! Tastes good, with finely chopped lean and fatty pork that melts in your mouth. The downside is that it’s a bit oily (oil drips as you eat). 2. Century egg & lean pork congee – Average taste, and it contains shredded ginger. 3. Pork & corn steamed bun – Decent, just like homemade. 4. Pork & corn dumplings – My kid said they tasted good, but they didn’t match the picture on the menu. The menu showed dumplings in soup, but the actual dish came without soup. Overall, the food does seem as advertised—no noticeable additives, and I didn’t feel thirsty after eating, which is nice. It’s a fast-food setup, so no tipping is required; you pick up your own food and clear your tray. One complaint: They don’t offer free tap water, and bottled water costs $2. If you go, I’d recommend bringing your own!

Very disappointing experience at Meet XI AN. We dined in and were shocked by the poor hygiene and overall quality. One of our dishes had a fly in it, and the second bowl of noodles contained a piece of steel scrubber — clearly from cleaning equipment. Completely unacceptable. The taste of the food was mediocre at best, definitely not worth the high prices they charge. On top of that, there were flies flying around inside the restaurant, and they were playing the same song on repeat the entire time — which made the atmosphere even worse. I do not recommend this place.

Update: I recently tried their Pork Zha Jiang Noodles and Red Bean Bun, and both were delicious! I usually can’t handle spicy food, but these noodles had just the right balance of flavor without being real spicy. The owner mentioned that she makes the sauce herself, which adds a nice homemade touch. The Red Bean Bun was also spot-on—none of that overly sweet, artificial-tasting filling. Instead, it had a rich, homemade flavor that really stood out. You can tell they put a lot of care into their food! ============== Original review: We’ve visited this newly opened Chinese restaurant multiple times and have tried a variety of dishes—everything has been excellent! The first time we went, they had just started operations, and the wait time was too long, so we had to cancel our order. However, when we returned a few days later, the experience was completely different. The service had improved dramatically, and from placing our order to receiving our food took less than ten minutes. Considering everything here is freshly handmade, that’s an impressive turnaround time! Our absolute favorite is their Roujiamo (Chinese-style meat sandwich), which comes in pork and beef options. The pork filling is the classic version, just as delicious as what I’ve had in China. I originally thought the beef might not be as good, but to my surprise, it was just as flavorful! As a long-time foodie in North Carolina, I can confidently say that their Roujiamo and chive pockets are the best I’ve had in this area in the past 20 years—no competition. We’ve also tried their beef noodle soup, steamed buns, dumplings, egg pancakes and tofu pudding, all of which were fantastic. Don’t forget to try their soy milk—it’s an authentic taste of China. Highly recommend this place for anyone craving real, handmade Chinese flavors!

This place recently opened and has great authentic Chinese food! The staff are very nice and the food has great traditional flavors. My favorite is the rou jia mo (beef burger) - the pastry is very flaky and the meat is delicious with nice undertones of scallion. Everything is handmade too, when I walked in I could see an auntie hand-filling some of the dumplings, and their noodles are handpulled, which adds a great homely atmosphere to everything. You really can taste the quality and care put into their dishes. If you've never tried Chinese food before, I definitely recommend this place!
