About Meet Spice Chinese Kitchen
Meet Spice Chinese Kitchen, located at 23450 Kingsland Blvd E in Katy, Texas, is a Chinese Restaurant that has taken over the space previously occupied by Golden Cafe. According to customer reviews, it appears to be under new management and offers a somewhat new menu featuring a mix of traditional Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai, and some specialty dishes, as well as the return of a sushi bar.
Environment: While specific details about the ambiance are limited, one customer mentioned that the restaurant is a new place. It is located in the same building as the former Golden Cafe.
Services: Customers have generally reported good and timely service, noting that the workers are nice. The restaurant offers dine-in options and appears to be a place where families feel welcome, with one reviewer stating their family enjoys dining there weekly. They also have a sushi chef who prepares sushi fresh.
Features: Meet Spice Chinese Kitchen boasts a diverse menu that includes both familiar Chinese staples and new specialty dishes. A notable addition is the return of a sushi bar. Some highly recommended items include the chili oil dumplings, which one customer repeatedly called the best, and the salt pepper fish. The egg rolls are also considered solid. The crispy fried chicken received mixed reviews, with praise for the chicken itself and the spice, but criticism for the excessive amount of peppers. The egg foo young was described as an egg omelette buried under gravy and meat, which was not what one customer expected. For the more adventurous, they offer a dry hot pot with pork intestines (Chinese chitlins), which was deemed good, though it contains Sichuan peppercorns that can cause a numbing sensation. Other mentioned dishes include steamed dumplings, General Tso tofu, house special noodles, and Hunan beef, all of which received positive feedback. The average price per person is estimated to be around $15, with most dishes priced at approximately $12.
Promotional Information: Currently, there is no specific promotional information available online. However, the positive reviews for dishes like the chili oil dumplings and salt pepper fish, along with the mention of fresh sushi, may attract customers. The restaurant's presence in the location of a former, potentially well-known Chinese restaurant (Golden Cafe) might also draw in locals curious about the new establishment and its offerings.
For those in the Katy, TX area looking for a Chinese Restaurant with a varied menu that includes sushi and some unique dishes, Meet Spice Chinese Kitchen presents a new option. This place is awesome. My family and I enjoy this at least once a week. They've got great food, really good prices, very timely, excellent service, and great good portion sizes. This is definitely our go to place for amazing flavor and comfort. we recommend to everyone in the area. Go check it out!
It's in the same building as the old Chinese restaurant that used to be there. ( Golden cafe ) I think it's ran by new people (I didn't see the older guy who usually runs it) The menu is somewhat new as some items are new and specialty dishes, some are just Chinese (typical Chinese Viet Thai generic Asian restaurant food) staples. The prices are more expensive than the older spot. They brought back sushi bar!!! But I haven't tried it yet. Chili oil dumplings were amazing!!! Egg rolls are solid!! The crispy fried chicken was ok, too many peppers the spice was good the chicken was very good and tender. The food was good, the only problem I had is the egg foo young. The egg omelette was buried under gravy and meat it was like egg omelette with beef and veggies mixed on top drowned in gravy. It's not what I expected IMO About 15$ per person the average dish is 12$ Service is good, workers are nice! ..... Update The sushi is pretty good, lady makes it fresh. The salt pepper fish is amazing! Steamed dumplings were good. General tso tofu was good Tried out the dry hot pot pork intestines ~ aka Chinese chitlins They were good! the only problem (for me) is the Sichuan? Mala? Spice peppers ( the mouth numbing stuff ) it's not spicy or hot but every now and again you chew one get a tangy bitter taste and you tounge is numb... I had to pick mine out. The same peppercorn is in the crispy fried chicken. If it's not your taste you can ask what dishes it's in but maybe that's the way it's supposed to be for those dishes... It's an experience Chili oil dumplings still the best item, I bought 2 orders! The restaurant is a new place but with that said my mom liked the food at the older spot more the way it's prepared and seasoned is different. Update.... House special Noodle are good! The salt pepper fish and chili oil dumplings are my favorite here!!! Again bought 2 orders Hunan beef is good! The service is still great!
Went for dinner last night and was greeted with kind smiles and calm ambiance. I got the General Tso Chicken, Avocado Dragon Roll, and Crunchy Spicy California Roll. The General Tso Chicken was spicy, and well sauced. The chicken looked so good I had to take a bite before taking a pic. And the avocado in the Avocado Dragon Roll was fresh. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Great dining experience with authentic hunan cuisine. Not many seats but the restaurant was clean and bright. It’s got a mom and pop feel. We ordered cheese puff, one of the best we have had, preserved pork with dried turnip, and rice noodle with chicken and veggies. All of them were delicious and you can taste the love they put into the dish. Staff were very nice! Highly recommend. Show your Support for this small business if you can!
I went inside to place a to-go order. The location is small and quaint and seemed family-owned as well, the food smelled good upon walking in. The customer service was nice and friendly. The food was okay. I ordered shrimp noodles, yet the shrimp had an intense seafood taste ( taste like how shrimp smells coming out of the water), they were large shrimp. I could not finish them, but a friend loved the flavor, so I guess it's a preference. The noodles were like lo mein style and were a good portion size. On a scale of 1-10 I would rate it a 3.5/10
