The features of May Palace include a menu that blends classic American-Chinese cuisine with some pan-Asian influences. While one reviewer notes that those expecting the "most authentic Chinese cuisine" might be disappointed, they also point out that if customers are aware of this blend, the restaurant offers good portions, fresh food that is not overly salted, and reasonable prices, especially for the Vail area. This suggests a focus on delivering satisfying and flavorful dishes that cater to a broader palate, possibly with some adaptations for American tastes.

Several specific dishes have received high praise from customers. The balance of flavors and the tenderness of the meat were highlighted as particularly enjoyable. The "Twice cooked pork" was enthusiastically labeled as "simply the best amazing Chinese food in Colorado," indicating a standout dish that is highly recommended.

Beyond the Chinese offerings, the Thai coconut curry is also mentioned as a "standout dish." It is described as creamy, fragrant, and packed with bold flavors, with a good level of spice and a velvety texture. Classic American Chinese food joint that has some pan-Asian fare. We got and would recommend the vegetable tofu soup, szechuan beef (spicy!) and the mushu vegetables. They still use tablecloths and real napkins, and rice comes with every entree. If you're expecting the most authentic Chinese cuisine, I think you'll be disappointed. But, if you know what you're getting into, the portions are good, the food fresh and not overly salted, and the prices reasonable, especially for a place like Vail.

I had an incredible dining experience at May Palace! The Mongolian beef was absolutely perfect—tender, flavorful, and coated in a rich, savory sauce with just the right amount of sweetness. The balance of flavors and the tenderness of the meat made every bite delicious. Twice cooked pork was simply the best amazing Chinese food in Colorado The Thai coconut curry was another standout dish. Creamy, fragrant, and packed with bold flavors, it had just the right level of spice and a velvety texture that made it impossible to stop eating. The combination of fresh vegetables and protein in the curry soaked up all the goodness of the sauce beautifully. Beyond the food, the service was friendly and attentive, and the ambiance was warm and inviting. Whether you’re craving classic Chinese dishes or something with a Thai twist, this place is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be coming back for more!

It's your classic Chinese spot with a great local bar atmosphere—quick pick-up time for to-go orders, with plenty of free parking. Get a dragon bowl you won't regret it, or maybe you will!

I stopped into Vail for a couple days for business, and wanted something close to my hotel so I didn’t have to drive in the snow. The gentleman that I spoke with on the phone was very pleasant, and I was very impressed with their website and easy navigation to order. Ordered both the Mongolian beef and the kung pao chicken plus the spring rolls. Picked up my food, and brought it back to my hotel. It was packaged well which is always a good sign. Both dishes were absolutely delicious! Fresh ingredients and great flavor! I’m pleased that I stumbled upon this great restaurant! Highly recommend to anyone picky about their Chinese food!

The food is always great! Their hot and sour soup and sesame tofu are the best! The restaurant has been owned by the same family for 38 years and that really means something in Vail.
