About 胡一南 Master Hu

胡一南 Master Hu is a Chinese Restaurant located at 15435 Jeffrey Rd #110, Irvine, CA 92618, USA. They can be contacted at (949) 861-0030 or +1 949-861-0030.

Based on recent customer reviews, experiences at 胡一南 Master Hu have been largely negative. One customer who ordered takeout via Fantuan described their overall experience as "quite disappointing." They specifically noted that the stir-fried pork was tough and dry, resembling pre-made food. The braised beef and beef offal were described as having a mediocre flavor with an unremarkable broth and seemingly low-quality ingredients. The century egg with mashed eggplant was criticized for its shockingly small portion, containing just one century egg and a tiny amount of eggplant and green pepper.

This reviewer concluded that the dishes were overly greasy, the prices were unreasonably high for the portion sizes, and the quality did not justify the cost, leading them to not recommend the restaurant.

Another customer who visited for a weekday lunch echoed similar sentiments. They found the price per dish to be "pretty expensive," around $20, with portion sizes that did not match the cost. They were also surprised that rice was not complimentary or inexpensive, noting that a small rice dish with corn cost $3.50. While they found the food to be "pretty authentic" with a good amount of oil and salt, the overall experience was negative. They mentioned serving themselves water and finding napkins and chopsticks in a table drawer. The service was described as the waiters serving food from a distance and cleaning the table quickly after they finished eating. This customer felt the restaurant was more like an expensive fast-food style place rather than an authentic sit-down Chinese restaurant, and they left feeling not full after spending over $60 for three dishes and rice for two people.

In summary, current customer reviews suggest that 胡一南 Master Hu may have issues with food quality, portion sizes relative to price, and service. Potential diners should consider these recent negative experiences.

Ordered takeout via Fantuan, and overall, it was quite disappointing. 1. Stir-fried pork – The meat was tough and dry, resembling pre-made food rather than freshly cooked stir-fry. 2. Braised beef and beef offal – The flavor was mediocre, nothing special about the broth, and the ingredients didn’t seem particularly high-quality. 3. Century egg with mashed eggplant – The portion was shockingly small, with just one century egg and a tiny amount of eggplant and green pepper. Overall, the dishes were overly greasy, the prices were unreasonably high for the portion sizes, and the quality did not justify the cost. Would not recommend.

We visited this place for a weekday lunch and we were disappointed. First of all the price for each dish is pretty expensive: about 20 dollars for a dish. The amount does not match the price. we thought the rice would be free or an extra couple dollars but nope, the only way to get rice is ordering that rice dish with few corn in which is 3.5 and it was so little amount of rice. The food was pretty authentic, well with a good amount of oil and salt. The best part is the beef in the rice noodles. Two of us ordered 3 dishes plus rice and it was 60+ before tips and we were not even full. We poured our own water, napkins and chopsticks are already in the table drawer. The waiters served our food from five steps away and cleaned our table in a hurry right after we finished. I was hoping it could be an authentic sit down Chinese restaurant but it seems like just another fast food style but expensive place.
