About Mark’s Duck House
Mark’s Duck House, situated at 6184-a Arlington Blvd in Falls Church, VA, is a Chinese restaurant that has garnered positive feedback from local diners. While perhaps not the absolute pinnacle of Cantonese-style cuisine for some, it consistently provides a satisfying dining experience. The restaurant is located in a small shopping center but is noted for its cleanliness.
A significant highlight of Mark’s Duck House is its dim sum service. Customers have reported that the dim sum dishes are freshly prepared and served warm, with prompt and attentive service from the staff. This contrasts favorably with experiences at other dim sum establishments where service and food temperature can sometimes be issues.
For those looking beyond dim sum, Mark’s Duck House is particularly renowned for its Peking Duck, which has been described as the best some diners have ever had. The portions are generous, and the duck is noted for being tender and flavorful. The menu also includes other popular Chinese dishes such as sweet and sour chicken with large pieces of chicken and pineapple, and a beef and vegetable dish featuring tender beef and plenty of vegetables in a tangy sauce. A customized eggplant dish in garlic sauce (non-spicy, not fried) was also a favorite, with large portions that were shared.
The service at Mark’s Duck House is frequently praised. One reviewer specifically mentioned a friendly gentleman who seated them early and a wonderful waiter named Kenny who was cheerful, attentive, and helpful in explaining the dim sum options. The overall experience, from greeting to service and food, has left a lasting positive impression on many customers, leading to repeat visits and recommendations.
In summary, Mark’s Duck House offers local users in Falls Church a Chinese restaurant experience characterized by clean surroundings, friendly and attentive service, and generously portioned, flavorful food. It is particularly recommended for its freshly prepared dim sum and exceptional Peking Duck. If you are seeking a reliable and satisfying Chinese meal in the area, Mark’s Duck House is a strong contender, evidenced by its popularity among locals, even on special occasions like New Year’s Eve.

We have enjoyed dining here on several occasions. While it may not be the best Cantonese-style cuisine we've encountered, we have consistently found it to be a satisfying experience. During our most recent visit for dim sum, we were pleased to see that each dish was freshly prepared and served warm, and the staff was prompt in bringing out the food. We have had varied experiences at other dim sum establishments, where service could be improved, and food was sometimes served cold. Overall, our experience here has been quite positive.
12/31/24 New Year’s Eve with family and our first time at Mark’s Duck House in Annandale Va. my family and I love Chinese food and we traveled 1 hour 15 minutes in pouring rain on New Years Eve to try this restaurant it was GREAT did not disappoint! Not a glamour place set in a small shopping center but very clean to start off with. We were seated by friendly gentleman even though we were early for our reservation and given a large table like we asked for because we wanted to try lots of dishes. Not a problem. Our waiter, Kenny was wonderful he explained different dim sum options to my sons and was always cheerful and attentive. The appetizers fried wontons, hot and sour soup and shrimp balls and fried dumplings were perfectly. Not blah pot stickers. When the main courses arrived we’re talking large, very large portions! Not complaining loved it. Hands down the best Peking Duck we ever had, large portion, tender and flavorful and we have tried several local Va. restaurants. Large pieces of chicken in a nicely sweet sweet and sour sauce with pineapples. The beef and vegetable dish had large pieces of tender beef along with lots of veggies and pineapples in a tangy sauce. My fav was the eggplant although it wasn’t on the menu as such I asked for eggplant in garlic sauce not spicey (not fried) huge plate came and I shared although I didn’t want to! Fried rice with chicken was hit as well and did I mention Saki and hot tea went along with dinner as well. This place was fantastic from our greeting at entry to our waiter to the exceptional food we will be back. People if you are looking for great Chinese food give Mark’s Duck House a try I promise you will be back. And if that doesn’t temp your taste buds theirs a reason the locals filled the restaurant on New Years Eve. Thanks for a great start to 2025 to everyone who made our family event perfect.
The service here is amazing the workers were really attentive and nice. We got the 228 dollar menu! starting with the soup was really good. the shrimp was very juicy and crispy which I liked. The flounder was still raw on the inside so we had to send it back to cook longer though didn’t taste that significant either. The mushroom and bok choy dish was good and have flavour. the jelly dessert was okay, it didn’t really taste like much to me. The fried rice was good and the duck seemed pretty alright too. In the past it had been better but it’s not as good as i remember for some reason? We did get some fried taro cakes though which was super sweet of them. Some flies near the bathroom but the bathroom was pretty clean! I felt that a lot of foods were bland this time sadly, but their customer service is so good. The portion sizes are also big!
Our Shumai dumplings came out raw. My husband didn’t realize before already eating a bite. Literally RAW. FULLY UNCOOKED pork and shrimp mixture. All the waitress had to say was “sorry sorry” a bunch of times. She said the back of kitchen and manager was notified but the manager never came to speak with us and we received absolutely no compensation for ingesting fully raw pork and shrimp!! I understand mistakes are made and someone confused an uncooked batch for cooked but they did not handle this correctly considering how DANGEROUS it is to ingest raw meats and seafood!!
This is place is probably one of the most authentic Chinese dimsum restaurant I have been. Excellent and fast service despite a decent wait during peak hrs. Food is very tasty and yet not very salty. They have an Asian dimsum (dimsum carts) atmosphere on Sundays. The downside is the limited siomai variety, crowded (but fun) and that you can over eat:) If you are claustrophobic, this place is not for you. Price: Very reasonable, our bill was only $180+ , 4 of us in our party, and already had a steamed fish (need to order from their menu) I will always make it a point to stop by this place whenever Im in the DC area.
