Features and Menu Highlights:

Based on customer reviews, Mar's Chinese Cuisine offers a variety of classic Chinese dishes. Some of the notable items mentioned include:

  • Hot and Sour Soup: Praised for its well-balanced flavor with a good amount of sourness, and served in a generously sized small bowl.
  • Pot Stickers: Highlighted as excellent, with a suggestion that they are made on-site, indicating freshness and quality.
  • Kung Pao Shrimp: A popular dish ordered mild, noted for its good flavors and fresh taste.
  • Combo Meals: Mar's offers combo meals that include a main dish, rice or noodles, and sometimes an appetizer. These are reported to be substantial, with customers getting at least two full meals out of a single combo. Examples include combinations with pork fried rice, pork chop mein, fried shrimp, chow mein, and sweet and sour chicken.

The reviews also provide some insights into the ingredients and preparation of certain dishes:

  • Pork Fried Rice and Pork Chop Mein: These dishes are reported to contain a good amount of pork. However, one review noted that the chow mein contained more cabbage than noodles.
  • Egg Rolls: One customer expressed concern about a "black stuff" found inside the egg rolls, which they found unappetizing. This suggests potential inconsistencies in the preparation or ingredients of this particular item.

Overall, the menu appears to offer a range of familiar Chinese-American dishes, with some items receiving high praise for their flavor and freshness, while others have received more critical feedback.

Environment:

One customer who dined in on a Friday evening around 7 pm mentioned that there was no waiting time, suggesting that the restaurant may not always be overly crowded at that time. The review also indicated that the service was quick and friendly, contributing to a positive dining experience for that particular customer. However, the reviews provided do not offer extensive details about the restaurant's ambiance, decor, or overall dining environment. Local users may find it helpful to visit the restaurant's website or social media pages (if available) for visual information, or perhaps call the restaurant to inquire about the atmosphere.

Customer Feedback and Considerations:

The available customer reviews present a mixed picture of Mar's Chinese Cuisine. One customer had a very positive experience, praising the hot and sour soup, pot stickers, Kung Pao shrimp, and the quick and friendly service. This suggests that Mar's is capable of providing a satisfying dining experience with flavorful food and good service.

However, another customer reported issues with their combo meals, specifically mentioning that the chow mein had an excessive amount of cabbage compared to noodles, and expressing significant concern about the contents of the egg rolls. This negative feedback indicates potential inconsistencies in food preparation and quality control. The fact that the combo meals were substantial in portion size was noted as a positive aspect, but the quality of certain components was called into question.

Local users considering Mar's Chinese Cuisine should take both positive and negative feedback into account. The positive review highlights the potential for enjoyable dishes and good service, while the negative review raises concerns about the consistency and quality of certain menu items. It might be beneficial to try some of the highly recommended dishes, such as the hot and sour soup and pot stickers, while being aware of the potential variability in other items like the egg rolls and the balance of ingredients in dishes like the chow mein.

We went to Mar's Chinese on a Friday night around 7 pm. No waiting. Ordered the hot and sour soup, which was very well with the right amount of sour to flavor. The portion size was a lot bigger coming out in a small bowl. We also ordered the pot stickers, which were excellent. I think they are made on site and are some of the best I have had. Our main dish was the Kung pow shrimp, which we ordered mild. Flavors were good, and it tasted very fresh. Service was quick and friendly, and this was for $40 + tip.

We ordered 4 combos - 2 pork fried rice, pork chop mein, and fried shrimp, 1 rice, chow mein, and egg roll and 1 rice, fried shrimp, and sweet and sour chicken for 4 of us. All of us got at least two full meals out of our combos, it's a lot of food. Good amount of pork in the rice and chow mean, but the chow mein was more cabbage than noodles. My big problem though, is the egg rolls. What is all this black stuff inside?! It's extremely off putting and I couldn't eat them.

I'm quite pleasantly surprised by Mar's Chinese Cuisine. A lot of the Chinese places around town can get pretty expensive, and some others have way smaller serving sizes. And if somehow they remain affordable and with large serving sizes, the places can be sketchy. However, Mar's is pretty clean. They don't have the most to offer out of every Chinese restaurant out there, but what they have is pretty tasty. They make good soups, and they have some good salt and pepper meat selections (would highly recommend either the calamari or the pork).

Some Assembly Required! Nothing like having a long day and ordering Chinese takeout only to receive a pile of fried chicken tenders and two containers of ‘sauce’ (more like soy laced corn syrup) which I presume the purveyors of this establishment want you to mix up and attempt to eat. This do it yourself ikea dinner kit comes at a premium price on top. I wouldn’t feed this to my dog and don’t recommend you do either.
